I figured it out. I had to activate the watch first on AT&T website and then I was able to set up cellularHas anyone been able to set up cellular yet with AT&T? If so what steps did you take?
I ordered an alpine loop medium in green, I picked that one because that band had the earliest ship dates. I was surprised because I ordered mine yesterday and got a notification that it has been shipped but I won’t receive my watch until MondayCurious as to which band you orders yesterday? If it says prepaing to ship you will probably get the ship notification later today.

What was happening with mine is during the Apple Watch setup when it got to the activate cellular service screen it kept saying "Hmmmm there is a problem, contact AT&T support" or something like that. I assumed service is swamped right now with a bunch of people getting new devices so instead I figured it out myself. Oh wow, fortunately for me it was very easy to activate my AW. I was able to activate it during the initial setup. I am sure it all had to do with my AW 4 being non cellular. What I did first when it wouldn't activate on initial setup was click "set up later" and skipped it and continued setting up my new watch as normal. Once the new watch was completely setup without cellular, I put on my old watch and went to the cellular setting in the watch app on my iPhone and removed service from my old watch (if its your first watch you won't have to do that step obviously). Then I googled the AT&T device activation website. On the device activation page I entered THE PHONE NUMBER ASSIGNED TO THE WATCH LINE (go to your at&t account and look under your devices and find the line that has the watch, this number is not used other then just for the line, your watch will be tied to your iPhone's number once it is activated, but you need this number to activate it), and then put in my zip code where the device was shipped. It will then take you through some steps to activate your watch. Then once it is activated, go back to the watch app on your iPhone, open up settings for your new Apple Watch Ultra, go to cellular, and then setup cellular again and it will now work.

My watch is sitting in Indianapolis due to numerous delays!Never got mine - ordered early when order banks were open with AT&T and I got a notice it shipped Thursday for delivery on Friday - here it is today on Sunday and it still only shows a label was created on FedEx and FedEx claims they never got it only a label was created and AT&T says they don’t have it and that it shipped Thursday -
Same here. Called AT&T and it was a waste of time. I was afraid I was the only one, but it seems more like a bigger issue. I ordered two at the same time. One arrived on time (alpine green sm)and the other (alpine green lg)is lost in the system. The small one shipped out of DFW and the large one had a label printed with it shipping out of Plainfield, IN.Never got mine - ordered early when order banks were open with AT&T and I got a notice it shipped Thursday for delivery on Friday - here it is today on Sunday and it still only shows a label was created on FedEx and FedEx claims they never got it only a label was created and AT&T says they don’t have it and that it shipped Thursday -
I thought I was the only one - Yes AT&T wants to push it all off on FedEx claiming it shipped and FedEx says no AT&T only printed a label and they never got the item to ship - Is this your situation exactly? Or does your tracking show it actually shipped and FedEx received it but it got lost in shipping ? AT&T won’t cancel and re-send because they said they shipped it . Good luck to youSame here. I wonder how many more are in our situation? And what’s the chance of them showing up ?It’s exactly the same as you. They were passing the blame around while I was chasing my tail like an idiot. I figured I’d give them till Tuesday before I called them again.
I’ll let ya know if my status changes - Please let me know if ya have any good news on yours -I don’t know. I just hope they get their heads out of their posterior. I would also be cool if AT&T will give us a strait answer instead of pointing fingers. I’m guessing if they are in fact lost then we will be on the list for the next batch.
