I guess what you call price games the industry would call competition. It's fierce right now which is a great thing for the consumer. But there will always be those consumers that will find something to complain about.

It will be... as soon as the carriers latch onto the next thing to raise their ARPU's. Now international text messages are free! A few years ago they would snatch your first born to send 100 texts!
Ten years ago texting was entirely free and has always cost carriers exactly zero to provide. It's just a byproduct of the cellular protocol that they decided to start charging people for when it became popular. It astonished me that people were ok with paying for what had been free.
