And I just read this down further:

att.com Preorders: Customers who preordered online will have their iPhone 3G S shipped to their home or office beginning tomorrow. Customers should be sure to examine their e-mail notification for their actual arrival date as some preorders will arrive after June 19; dates are based on when preorders were made and available inventory.



It seems ATT contradicts itself here.

This is REDICULOUS.


Can no-one at AT&T get their act together? I mean come on people, I understand this on the 1st iPhone, even somewhat on the 2nd, but we are the 3rd freaking iPhone and they still can’t figure out what they are or aren’t doing. :mad:

Why do you think that Apple dissed them in the WWDC?

1. AT&T missed commitments on service rollouts to support the iPhone 3GS launch (MMS and Tether)

2. AT&T network sucks.

3. AT&T continually botches the retail distribution of the iPhone product.

For Apple, who has their act together, it must be really frustrating. They deliver 350K iPhone orders like clockwork with only a little sprinkling of disappointment, where as AT&T just takes a giant dump on the heads of all of their customers who were foolish enough to order through them.

The sad thing is that I haven’t had any bad experiences with AT&T, it’s just been the handling of their iPhone launches which have gotten under my skin. I ended up buying both the first two versions from Apple directly, including the 3G where I waited in line all morning only to find out they got like 8 in – morons! But with this phone, I tried all the tricks and I still was unable to buy directly from Apple and now I’m thinking that might have been a mistake…
 
I guess we are now all waiting for the first online delivery order to change from "in progress". I wonder if they will start showing up later today or tonight and what happens if they run out and your order doesn't make it . . . .
 
My premier order was showing backordered until today where it now shows shipped via FedEx with 2 Day delivery of June 22nd. It doesn't have an origin scan yet.

My regular AT&T order placed one day before the Premier order has not shipped. These are online orders shipped to my home.

Well...this is SOMETHING.

An online ATT order shipped to home(even though it's premier) has shipped!!
 
Pretty frustrated on my order with AT&T:


  • Ordered 6/10/09.
  • Received call on 6/12/09 with problems with my VZW->AT&T port. Resolved them in a few minutes. They said everything was fine.
  • Received email on 6/15/09 saying a problem with port. Called in and told everything was fine...disregard e-mail.
  • Order has been "In Progress/Ordered" since 6/10/09.
  • Called Automated Order Status line 6/18/09 and was told there was a problem with my port. Transferred to customer service and was told everything was fine.
  • They did a 3-way call with online ordering and they said that they were now resubmitting my order and it would take 24-48 hours to process.

Looks like I won't be receiving my iPhone until next week. What a mess by AT&T....they can't get their story straight anywhere and kept telling me everything was fine. Here I am expecting my iPhone on the 19th and they're now saying they have to resubmit.

Same EXACT thing just happened to me except I ordered a day earlier. What a cluster****. :mad:
 
It says cancelled, but still says ship date: 6/15, and carrier: FDE. I will be calling them first thing in the morning and will post what they say. I am afraid I am SOL though, but I will be pulling for best upgrade price or free iphone. I mean they basically charged over $9000 on my credit card, rendering it unusable for 3 days and no telling what this has done to my credit.....

Update: It was indeed cancelled, due to ineligibility for early upgrade price!!! Checked both att.com and apple.com and it still says I am eligible. And they did charge me for 20 phones, I despise you ATT. Ordering from apple for next week delivery!!!
 
Do all of you realize that if Apple switches to something other than AT&T, it will cost a lot for all of us.

Also, then people will be complaining about it like they do for AT&T.

Just a thought.
 
to my understanding, ups or fedex needs the shipment in their hand by 5 P.M. for an overnight shipment. So if we don't receive an e-mail by 6 P.M. today, it's going to ship out tomorrow

If they're all shipping out of Fort Worth.....I might have a chance at a tomorrow delivery. I'm in Dallas and about 30 min away.

Ugh!!!

EDIT - I wonder if I can just go pick it up tomorrow night if it ships out tomorrow from the Fedex/UPS hub.

good call, seems like a plan. though the pickup for our fedex drop box outside of the office here is 7pm for overnight

Mine's doing the same thing. I ordered on the same day as you as well. This is better than nothing.
 
Good deal - It's encouraging that others are seeing the same thing on the progress that I am.

ON the side, this site is great. It's been a huge source of free entertainment watching the threads of ignorant and skeptical people speculate the arrival of something that should be pretty insignificant in life.

But hey! This is the place for them. They didn't call it macRUMORS for nothing. All everyone seems to be doing are spreading the rumors. So funny, and ironic... Yet, I find myself lurking around.

I just have a feeling AT&T will not come through for me though. Its been a week of $500 on my card, then off my card, then on/off again. Now it says shipped but no tracking number. Sometimes I wonder if AT&T knows what it is doing?!?
