Comcast data caps their home internet so don’t doubt them. They better not cap on small amounts of data when the tech has caught up.

5G connections speeds are going to vary depending on whetheryou're in a city or in a more rural areayou hold your phone vertically or horizontally.
What part of the state are you in? I get great LTE on TMo all over the seacoast. The problem I have in NH is - we barely have 4G LTE. It’ll be forever before we get usable 5G.
Say what???Electricity is far lower on my cost per month than telecommunications. I obviously use electricity more than telecommunications, as many times I am heating stuff.
My utilities costs haves stayed far more consistent year to year than my ever expanding telecommunications budget.
Quite simply, there are no quotes from my utilities about how they plan to start charging for more services in the future, whereas each few weeks we see such quotes from telcos.
Also, my point originally was more about equality of access rather than simply a price concern.
there are plenty of business use cases for 5G
That phrase sometimes fits, but not here.
Even if you don’t appreciate why someone would want to watch a 4K video on their phone there are plenty of business use cases for 5G.
The fact that something is not useful to you doesn’t mean it’s not useful to anyone.
Money grubbing whores
5G is a solution in search of a problem...
"I will be very surprised if, as we move into wireless, the pricing regime in wireless doesn't look something like the pricing regime you see in fixed line. If you can offer a gig speed, there are some customers that are willing to pay a premium for 500 meg to a gig speed, and so forth. So I expect that to be the case. We're two to three years away from seeing that play out."
I can't believe the 5G craze. 4G is already so fast, how much data do people need on the go? Half the time it's just people screwing around on social media in public. 4G is faster than most Wi-Fi 10 years ago, I don't know why it's not enough.
So we should all have government 5G Internet? Because that would work just great, right?
The free market will work in this instance just like it always does if the government will stay out of it. Let people take their money to different and better companies. Soviet American 5G access isn’t the way to go.
if ATT were in charge of the roads and highways we'd all still be driving on two-lane macadam "highways"
It’s clear you don’t go much to crowded places like airports or busy cities. 4G in these situations is very slow or completely unusable. 5G copes much better with that.I can't believe the 5G craze. 4G is already so fast, how much data do people need on the go? And let the chip makers take their time. If something like this is rushed it will suck and be available almost nowhere.
Can't wait for 6G when they start tiering by location, type of smartphone, etc, etc...![]()
Yeah... with what kind coverage? Carriers will only deploy 5G in dense cities, where fiber broadband is likely to be available as well. Rural areas? With such short range of 5G coverage (even easily blocked by a window)? LOL.Fine, I don't need more than 10mbit/s

Good for connecting homes where cabling is difficult. Should in theory be enough to support both your phone and your home, which is nice
Please. 4G (or even 3G) are overly saturated because carriers oversaturate their access points and/or the area’s backbone in the name of profit. Changing to 5G won’t change their profit motivation. Carriers will always oversaturate their capacity, and with 5G, you will pay more for it. How delightful. It’s clear you don’t go much to crowded places like airports or busy cities. 4G in these situations is very slow or completely unusable. 5G copes much better with that.
It's for suburban, that large spectrum between rural and dense city.Yeah... with what kind coverage? Carriers will only deploy 5G in dense cities, where fiber broadband is likely to be available as well. Rural areas? With such short range of 5G coverage (even easily blocked by a window)? LOL.
What a nightmare.
