Those customers lucky enough to successfully place iPhone 4 pre-orders through AT&T before the company's servers imploded last week might be interested to know that the carrier has begun confirming shipment to customers via FedEx. The carrier's activity comes after customers who pre-ordered through Apple began seeing movement yesterday.

Many customers' order statuses are showing their items having shipped on Friday, June 18th, but only now is AT&T updating its website with shipping information and sending out confirmation emails.

Apple's iPhone 4 is set to launch on Thursday, although a number of Apple pre-order customers are seeing FedEx delivery estimates of Wednesday. Apple has in the past, however, coordinated with carriers to hold delivery until official product launch days, and it is likely the company will do so again for iPhone 4.

Mine says shipped on the 17th as well but there is no information from fedex as of yet so I suppose they just got them ready to ship, they haven't actually handed them to fedex quite yet.

Either way, I am just glad to see them moving. I was starting to get jealous of my apple ordering friends ;)

Shows they are working on getting the orders fulfilled. Still plenty of time.

Activated iPhone 4

I ordered my iPhone from AT&T and the order status indicates that it shipped. I have never bought an iPhone on launch day or from anywhere other than an Apple store, and I have a question. AT&T's web site indicated that the new iPhone came activated. Does that mean that I won't have to stare at my new brick while the activation servers collapse under the weight of over 600,000 activations? I'm just wondering.

Thanks

I'm not sure anyone knows. This is first time Apple has done the pre-order thing with iPhones?

I doubt it, otherwise your current phone wouldn't be working...

For those with shipping numbers, were you "backordered" or not?

I ordered Premiere and mine showed "backordered" on the regular AT&T site up until last night. Last night the backordered was removed...then this morning, mine showed "Shipped" and had a tracking number that was non-clicky.

I notice that the screenshot up there has an order date of 6/15. I placed my order on 6/15 at around 2 pm CST, but when I look at my order status page, it says the order date was 6/16.

Anyone else have an order date of 6/16 that shows shipped? Guess I know what page I'll be refreshing all day long.

I pre-ordered three of the iPhone 4's last Tuesday, checked this morning and all three say they've shipped. All said the shipping date was 6/18/10 but when you check the tracking number at FedEx it says that it has no information.

Getting Mine!

Just checked ATT web site for my order and it is showing "shipped" like many others. I ordered mine at the ATT store where I knew the sales person very well. She stayed with my order until it got confirmed. I went in about 10am, when they opened, and had my order placed by 10:20. I'm pretty sure I'll be using my Iphone 4.0 on Thursday! Woo Hoo!

Shipped!

Thought I didn't get my order in. Hit "SUBMIT ORDER" at about 7:00am on the 15th then got an error message. On the 16th, to my delight, there was an order confirmation email. Now this morning, it has been marked as shipped. All I have to do now is bribe my FedEx delivery person to hit my house first on the 24th!!!:D

I tried to order all day on the 15th but couldn't get through. Now it says I have an order on the 16th after I put a pre-order in w/ Best Buy. Waiting for a Best Buy phone call so I can cancel AT&T order This whole process has been needlessly annoying thanks to AT&T

Mine was never listed as backordered, however I did order a full hour after the AT&T cut off (5:30pm EST) and I got an e-mail confirming I should be getting it between the 25th and the 28th.

Then this morning VOILA! Shipped.

ordered at an AT&T store @ 8:45am EDT on the 15th.

says mine shipped on 6/17 - this is good news because I'm usually the one that gets the bad end of the stick. not this time. ;)

I also ordered on 6/15 at 2pm CST, but my order status says the date ordered was 6/16. It shows I have QTY ordered as 1, nothing backordered, so I keep hoping...

Mine was the same way. I got the order confirmation at 10:20am EST. Now it says back ordered as well. I hope this changes...
