I placed my order at 12:45 PST on the 15th and I have gotten no word of shipping as of yet. Also it says placed on the 16th. What should I do?
Ordered in person from the AT&T store on the 15th. For some reason it shows that I ordered it on the 16th.This is what it's shown ever since I got the confirmation email:

Mine was showing as backordered yesterday. It now shows shipped.
ATT is a big screw-up. Mine was ordered on the 15th (I was at 9 am in the store but of course all computers broke sown and it was than manually entered in the evening so I missed the cut-off point) and it was never backordered... No shipment yet...
Oh well, just a phone.
I also ordered on 6/15 at 2pm CST, but my order status says the date ordered was 6/16. It shows I have QTY ordered as 1, nothing backordered, so I keep hoping...
I'm just curious if someone can answer this for me, if I placed my pre-order on June 15th 1:50PM PST, should I have been one of the 600,000? I got an email confirming the order less than a minute after ordering, but AT&T's site says my order was placed on the 16th. Does that mean I'm part of the second batch (July 2nd)?

i placed my order on the 15th @ 5am and it said i ordered on the 16th too.i called to find out why and a few reps told me to disreguard the order date on ur order status cuz thats when it was processed.what matters is the time stamp.the only thing the reps can see is exactly when you ordered it, so its in their systems but i still got no shipping confirmation...
A great question. Is this actually necessary? I can't imagine calling on iDay will be a great experience. Might as well leave the phone on hold, make dinner, and fly to Europe and back.I just shipping confirmation email. It says under "How to Activate Your Iphone:
3. Call 1-866-499-8008 Monday-Friday from 8:00am - 9:00pm.......to activate your phone/device."
It then goes on to tell you to connect it to iTunes.
Of course, in my order confirmation email I got a link to click on to activate the phone, so perhaps this is just an extra step in order to avoid someone stealing your shipment and activiting the phone.
I never had this step when I ordered from Apple.
woo hoo! As of this morning, mine shows shipped 6/17 with fedex tracking numbers!
