Technically, ANYTHING, even 11 cents is taxable income. The IRS won't come after you unless they find more than $600 worth that you didn't claim.
Technically not. Because IRS rounds down the decimal. At 11c it would be $0 income. So no tax imputed.

Count me among the people who got screwed. Found a $0.99/month charge on my bill. It had been there for several months but I missed it because it was so small and I didn't read my bills closely. AT&T would only refund 3 months worth of charges and it wasn't worth fighting for less than $10 total.

Yeah, it sucks that the lawyers get so much of it, but the real value in all of this is that AT&T has to pay out $90 million dollars. That's really all the corporations understand, unfortunately

When we "won" all those class action lawsuits against BofA, me and the wife made out like bandits every time. An Entire almost $5.00 each for the cheating and stealing of their customers out of billions.
The lawyers didn't complain though. They did it out of Principle. Millions and millions of principles...

Does this only apply to those that it affected? I never subscribed to any of that garbage.

No - they'll raise their prices for everyone to cover the payout which is only going to those affected.

Also, your tax money was spent on having the government investigate and then fine AT&T.

No - if you had an 11 cent check and a 44 cent check, that would round to $1. Each individual income is not rounded. The TOTAL income is rounded.

But it's not relevant anyways. The IRS won't go after you if you don't include it, even if it rounds everything up $1.

they are a horrible company but 88 million isn't pocket budget for them. At and T is already too big can't believe nobody suggested splitting them up.

A POX ON THOSE RESPONSIBLE!

When I refused to pay a $25 charge for a call made to my home phone from a Florida pay phone around 2000, they didn't pursue it. I switched to MCI because they told me the bill would be $17 per month for home service. When it became $55, I told them to go away, and the wired phone was never used again. BOTH companies are on my BLACK LIST.

Hahahahaha!
They WERE part of the monopoly called MA BELL. They WERE split up years ago.

That should just about pay for a meal for two at Olive Garden, if you don't go all out that is LOL.

The average is about 1% of what should be received. The charges just show up and carriers make it extremely difficult to terminate.
