i called back to have my bill updated with discount........and i got put on hold, lady was clueless, she transfered me to another dept and while listening to the music an automatic voice said"AT&T wireless...Goodbye" and then it hung up on me....I freaking hate this company....all i want is my freaking discount and my bill to be correct!!!!!!!
 
I added my FAN# back into my account the day after I got my iPhone. How do I know if my bill was discounted?

I also checked and saw the $18 upgrade fee, called AT&T CSR a couple minutes ago and they waived it for me -- no problems.
 
My Billing cycle ends on the 15th of each month and we picked up our iphones on iDay. I got my bill and it has all the prrrated charges etc for the phone switch but my "National Discount" amount is still zero... Has anyone else recently got their new iPhone 3G bill and has a discount who previously didnt due to owning iphone 2.5g?

What number are you calling? Try adding the discount yourself by going to https://www.wireless.att.com/business/enrollment/

Enter your work/school email address. The system will then authenticate you and send an email to the address you entered. The email will include a link to enroll your account in the discount. You should be able to see the FAN # when you login to your account fairly quickly.

Also, once your account is enrolled in the Premier program your calls to customer care will be automatically answered by business care reps. They are generally (not always) better than the regular customer care reps.

Has anyone filled out a Individual Responsibility User Form? I don't have a work email so I had to fill that out.

I'm just curious as to the process (Do they call me and ask what discount I want, Do I go back to the ATT store I got the application from? )because my company offers many discounts (15% off of voice plan is what I want) and don't know how long it'll take to apply.

It takes two billing cycles for the FAN discount to appear. Chill out and complain after 1.5 more months.
 
I just confirmed with AT&T that the FAN discount applies to both my voice plan and 3G data plan.

Of course, chances are high that this will do a complete 180 if I call tomorrow and speak to someone else. :D

I guess the only way to really know is when I see my bill.
 
You have to call or walk in to an ATT store to get it waived. It's not an automatic thing.

I wasn't sure if my FAN was eligible. If they all get activation fees waived that is awesome. So this is true then I take it? I just don't want to call and sound like I know what I am talking about if I am wrong.

Just call and act like you feel paying the activation fee will be a hardship.

If you've been with ATT for a while, you can use the customer loyalty angle. If you're new to ATT you can say your old provider waived it for you as well.

Don't give up and they'll waive it. I don't think you even need a FAN to do this.
 
i got my first bill 2 days ago, still have the activation fee which i called and got taken off. and my 21% fan discount

no problems for me.

71 bucks for my first bill, i got the 450min, 200 texts w/ the data plan(obviously).
 
I have yet to receive my first bill, but I had my upgrade fee waived immediately upon receiving my iPhone. I also have the FAN discount from my school, so I'll have to wait and see if the 15% discount applies to both service and data. When I went to into an AT&T store to put my discount back on, I was told it just applied to the service. I'm on a family plan if that makes any difference.
 
does all FAN discount applies for both voice and data plan? or certain FAN discount only applies to voice only?
 
For those of that are receiving FAN discount on your iPhone 3G bill, please confirm that you DO NOT see IPHONE POSTPAID TRKG on your bill.

I just bought an iPhone 3G (never had an iPhone before this). My online account only shows "IPHONE 3G TRKG" and NOT the "POSTPAID" thing that people are talking about. I should see my FAN discount on my next bill right?
 
I am an educator that is supposed to have the FAN discount. I just called (was a previous owner of the iPhone 2G, now a 3G owner), and spoke with "Jose" at AT&T who told me that NO iPhone accounts, 2G or 3G, are eligible for FAN discounts. He even told me he would e-mail me documentation saying this (still waiting on that e-mail).

I am really pissed, how is it that other people are getting this, but when I call they feed me this stuff ....

Should I just simply call back and hope I get someone else on the line?
 
My experience...

I'm new to AT&T, with my iPhone 3G, and on top of that, I didn't know I was eligible for any discounts via my job (I'm in state government). Got my iPhone Wednesday night, took it home, signed on to the AT&T website & got myself all set up to view my bill, etc.

Went in to work Thursday, and used a link in my intranet to link into AT&T, filled out the e-mail verification, with the new iPhone phone #, and got all the right e-mails.

When I logged back in to AT&T's web from home, the screen showed my FAN. So, I'll be waiting for the next couple months to see what discount gets applied.

If you have a special link to AT&T through your company intranet, that's probably the best way to get any discounts applied.

Is the FAN already on your account? You can verify by logging into your wireless.att.com account. If so, then call business customer care at 1-800-331-0500. Let the agent know that you are a Premier customer and are inquiring about the discounts available for your particular FAN. Ask the agent to confirm the % and if it is available for the voice, text, and data plans/features.

The 2G phones were not eligible for discounts because of the revenue share agreement with Apple. However, the current version is eligible.

I hate AT&T .... and I'm still waiting on that e-mail from the first guy I talked to over there (who swore that the 3G iPhone couldn't receive discounts and that he would e-mail me the documentation) ...
 
I hate AT&T; they always tend to pull these stunts off. I know many people who have just put up with it and paid whatever fees AT&T imposed. Please don't do that.

Glad you got the discount added. Check your first bill to make sure it applied correctly.

I understand your frustration with the process. I have had to call them a few times in the past to get things set-up or changed. Customer service in general has gone downhill for many companies. AT&T is huge and not every employee takes their job seriously just as in most every company. No excuses for the old phone company though. :) Its is frustrating when we as consumers, aks people questions and get conflicting responses.

The agent will probably never send the email because he found out he was mistaken. Instead of admitting his mistake he will just not respond. Typical of many people.
