I just got my bill it was $138.00. I was expecting about $110 - $120 first bill and a monthly bill from $75 - $80 monthly.
I did noticed that they added the msg plan of $5 to my plan and I specifically told the sales rep at ATT that I did not need this plan. I had them remove the plan and they deducted a whole $3 from my bill.![]()
I see a credit under "NATIONAL ACCOUNT DISCOUNT". Is this where the FAN discount show up? For those of you that are currently receiving a FAN discount, please advise.
If so I see a credit even though I still have IPHONE POSTPAID TRKG on my bill. I upgraded from iPhone EDGE and I did not request the Apple Fan Override like Diode did.
Also are you guys using the term "activation fee" and the "upgrade fee" interchangeably? Since I upgraded from iPhone (edge) to iPhone 3G I was charged an "upgrade fee" of $18. My FAN discount will waive activation fee but not an upgrade fee. I see here some people here are calling AT&T to remove the activation fee but anyone here tried to waive the "upgrade fee?"
Thanks in advance
I really admire you all who stick with AT&T... I couldn't do it. It was too expensive for simple services and a little more than half of my calls would drop. I'd have to call customer service about the dropping every week and they always said the same thing, "Where are you located? Florida? Oh, it's because of the hurricanes" when the hurricane had long passed.
T-mobile may not have many cool phones, but I've had great experiences with them for the last year... I guess it depends on what area you're in.
I know that switching over is not an option for people because of CRAZY fees to end the contract, but I do recommend t-mobile.
I have:
39.99 MyFaves w/ 300 whenever minutes (I never EVER reach up to 300)
5.99 t-Zones (oh yes, it works just fine)
9.99 unlimited text (this price only comes with the MyFaves plan)
Bam. I'm done. Also, t-mobile is widely accepted by companies who offer phone discounts to their employees (which I have).

yeah Ive really been thinking about doing this. I know there are some independent tmobile shops in NYC that will drop the ETF down to like $40 if you switch with them. I might do that

Gotta love having no 3g, being 4th overall in customers (reducing the # mobile to mobile people), HORRIBLE KID LIKE selection of phones, 300 minutes??? LMAO, i use 300 minutes a WEEK. T-mobile is for teenagers who do not have cash, not adults.

The 2G phones were not eligible for discounts because of the revenue share agreement with Apple. However, the current version is eligible.

I had my FAN # on my account with the V1 phone, no discount. It can be there, but it won't do anything for the V1 iphone.I checked this a couple weeks ago, and noticed that my FAN was available for my 1st gen iPhone, so I added it back in. It can take 1-2 billing cycles for the discount to be applied. For those getting the new 3G iPhone with a FAN number, you will get billed the activation/upgrade fee, but it will be automatically credited back to you in 1 to 2 billing cycles.
Having went through FAN addition before, I am quite familiar with this system.
There is still time for you to buy a 2G iPhone and hop on to T-Mobile's network. Do it.
Hi there,
Are you saying that it is possible to use an iPhone on a T-Mobile service plan? How is that done?
