I was told I got my activation fee waived, but it's been about 3 days and my balance shows 0. Any one else have this? Maybe because I just paid my bill and the fees haven't showed up. I don't want to bug the reps but I'm concerned she may not have actually credited me at all.

Mine is the same way. I was told that I would receive a charge and credit on my bill. I have a text confirmation and printed transcript of the conversation. Hope that's enough.

Got mine waived on Monday. Did the Live Chat and just mentioned how we were loyal customers for over 10 years and that I just committed for another 2 years.

I just got mine waives. At first she said that the fee was there, but it's a $700 phone that I got for $200. I told her I understand the huge savings, and to please void my contract, I will return the phone and go to Verizon, as this fee wasn't mentioned when I ordred from Apple's site.
She waived the fee, and told me my "new" bill total, which was the same as it was before! I pointed that out, and copied text from my PDF of the bill. She said it mustn't have gone through, and reprocessed, giving me my regular bill amount.

Interesting, I just finished chatting with a rep. I dialed *BAL# on my phone and it sent me a text that I have a -$36.00 balance, so it looks like I was credited almost immediately. I just paid my bill so the activation fee had not shown up yet, so it makes sense it is for next month.

It's possible that for me, the activation fee will still be on my bill next month, and the agent simply credited me with $36 so that it cancels out in the end.
However, you guys may have really had the activation fee taken off the bill completely, and it won't be on your next billing period. So a $0 credit on your bill is OK so long as the activation fee doesn't show up.

$700 phone that you got for $200?!
They're subsidizing it for a 2 year commitment! Luckily the rep made it easy on me, because that would have set me off. Don't tell me it's a $700 phone for $200. Make it a $236 phone then if that's how it's going to be justified.
I would have countered with, 'lets see $80 plan x 24 months = about $2,000!' The $36 is nickel and diming.

not really. Kayzle was very confrontational and demanding, almost hostile. i wouldn't have waived anything for him either.

+1
You need to know how to talk to other human beings. Pretty basic stuff.

Fair enough but I still don't think this particular rep would have budged regardless. My initial response from a rep was not "WHY do you need it waived?" but instead stated the importance of "customer value" and gave an explanation of why they charge the fee, ending of course with removing the fees for me.

I got mine waived no problem. I just mentioned that I have been a loyal customer since 2008 and have never missed a payment and she seemed happy to credit me back, no attitude or anything.

Copied & paste the script given from the OP and was credited real fast.

AT&T Rep: Hello Castillo, thank you for contacting AT&T. I can certainly look into the upgrade fees for you. One moment please.
Ronald: Thank you.
AT&T Rep: I have gone ahead and credited the upgrade fee for you. Just to let you know that it is a one time courtesy and we will not be able to do it for you again.
AT&T Rep: Was there anything else I can assist you with today?
Ronald: Thank you so much.
Ronald: That is all, thanks again.

Went into chat, first person denied me, went in and tried again with another person and it worked, thanks.

Got $36 x2 waived. Tried for the $250 early upgrade fee to be waived and got shot down, no harm is asking though. :D

Edit: Called into customer service and got the $250 waived!!!

I got 2 of mine waived as well. Saved over $80.

If they don't waive it for you just call back and try again with a different rep. You would be silly to pay $36 plus the tax for the activation fee.

Just got the fee waived for the 2 phones on my family plan... told them when I upgraded, and ask if they'd be willing to waive the fees.
Was done in less than 30s. Have not received the txt yet but I'm hoping it'll be very soon!

I got $36.00 waived also. Funny thing with chat I could not get a response to my question but apparently it went through. An hour or so later I checked my account and $36 was credited to my bill.

Just got my $36 fee waived!

Well, technically I haven't been billed for it yet, but the chat representative made a note on my account and once I am billed for it, I'm to chat them once more and there will be no problem waiving it :D:D:D

I just got the fee waived on 2 lines through the chat. I tried a number of different times over the phone and the chat with no success. Tried the chat again tonight and it worked. The key is to be polite, but persistent.

Wow, thank you very much. It worked for us and it was so easy with the LiveChat.

ATT credited my account $72 for two iPhones. Awesome. We love ATT and this Forum.

This is a copy of my chat and the fee waived. I immediately dialed *BAL# and the fees were waived. :D
