I was just in Seattle and I didn't get anything close to that. More around 1-2. I'm starting to think my 4S isn't on the new HSPA+ network..

AT&T in Dallas is the shiz
Where in Dallas are you getting that? The highest I've gotten is 6.75 on my 4s.
WHATTTTT????... hahahaha... damn!!!Regularly get 7-9 with 10+ every so often

SE Dallas, Pleasant Grove. I guess this is the only good thing about living in the 'hood - not many data hogs around here lol
Here's mine. Located about 30-40 miles from Detroit where the server is hosted.
Coming from Android...why does the iPhone have such a humongous ping time? I had pings of 10-50ms on Android devices.
Is there a way to check if I am using the 850MHz towers on ATT? My friend who has an iPhone 4 was getting full bars while my 4S was only getting 2 - we were sitting right next to each other..
I think you should log into your att.com account and make sure you have a data plan for iPhone 4S. The 4S plan is HSPA+ and if you don't have that, you won't get good speeds.
Fastest speeds I've seen. Kind of pathetic. Makes me miss my Droid Bionic 4G phone sometimes, where I averaged at a minimum 12 Mbps, and up to 26 Mbps.
Way to totally not answer the question being asked. Sheesh.
It's a valid point though. The 4S data plan is different from previous iPhone plans, and provisions your phone with access to a different, HSPA+ specific APN. If you don't have it, you probably won't get HSPA+ speeds.

How do you know if you're on HSPA+? The coverage map online says that I am, but how can I be sure? I thought they were going to make it say 4G on the iPhone.
If I could get speeds like this at home, i would consider a cell modem instead of my wimpy dsl line (fastest available in my area)

Test Date: Dec 29, 2011 8:26 AM
Connection Type: Cellular
Server: Cincinnati, OH
Download: 6.99 Mbps
Upload: 1.16 Mbps
Ping: 118 ms
What are you qualifying as HSPA+?
Damn, I didn't know that. I'm glad I came into this thread. I thought I was being smart by just swapping out my SIM card to save on the activation fee.
