YAY, Orderd late last night(08/17/10) via the Premier Att website, iPhone 4 16GB for the wife, and before I went to sleep, got a shipment notification, and to be delivered by 08/19/10 before 4:30pm. Was expecting 5-10bus days as was stated at the order completion page.

8/18 Delivery EXCEPTION (At&t forgot to put my apartment number on the shipping info - No Delivery)

I called Fedex to have them add it, and they said I had to call At&t to have them change it. After being on hold for 25 minutes, they confirmed that they updated my address and sent it to Fedex and said it would be updated on that day.

I checked the tracking on Fedex this morning and it said that they were shipping it BACK to At&t because of the problem. I tried to stop it but it was too late.

Then I called At&t to see if they could cancel the order or send me another one since it was being shipped back and would not get back to At&t until the 24th. They cannot do anything. They can't cancel the order. I have to wait until they receive the return before I can order it again.

This is crazy. Because of THEIR fault I have to wait. I don't understand why they can't just cancel it and send me a new one today or even tomorrow. I even asked it I could go into a store and buy one. Unfortunately, my upgrade status says that I just upgraded, and won't change back until who knows when.

Like I said, I am very sad :-(

Any suggestions? Other than waiting, of course...

I ordered my girlfriend's last night 8/18, shipped 8/19, delivers 8/20 with free overnight shipping. It looks like they finally caught up. I wanted 7/23 till 8/5 for mine. (Both are 16GB)

UPDATE: Yup. She got it within 36 hours of ordering.

I ordered my 16 GB Iphone 4 on 8/18 from Apple and it is telling me I wont receive it until Sept 14th. Is this accurate? There is nothing that says it is back ordered. Will it really take over 3 weeks to get here or will I get lucky like some of you and get it sooner?

Yes, you probably will have to wait about 3 weeks if you order from Apple, but probably a little closer to 2 weeks. I ordered on 8/10 from Apple and as of earlier today my phone is "prepared for shipment." So it will take about 2 weeks before it ships and then you will probably wait 2-3 more days for it to arrive. If you can't wait that long, ordering from AT&T instead of Apple seems to be more efficient (a couple of days or a week at the most).

I should add that my phone was not scheduled to ship until 8/31, so assuming it ships today that's 6 days earlier than what I was told.

Same thing just happened to me. Are AT&T retarded? I'm looking at my order confirmation and it clearly shows my apartment number but they just left that off? Way to make me confident in committing 2 years to them...

Happened to me too. If you have the tracking number, call Fedex or UPS (depending on who they used for you) and they can easily add the info to the tracking number if an issue arrises.
