Hmm that's weird,mine went straight to the automated voice to get my order info then gave me the option of talking to a rep. Wonder what's going on...

my order finally went from 1's in the backordered column to 0's this evening. I am ATT Premier and ordered through ATT at 2 am PST on 10/7 and received the confirmation email immediately after ordering. Was wondering why others seemed to be making it to "Processing" before me as I must have been one of the early orders through ATT.

White 16GB now shipped as well
With a ship date of 10/11 rather than 10/10 and a different fedex tracking number, my white 16gb has now been added with a tracking number.
Note that *none* of these actually have a 1 in the shipped column. Pretty sure the labels have been generated but the boxes won't be picked up until later today at the earliest.
Still, progress *is* being made!

Ordered at 4pm PST October 7th in the store. Both of the phones (black 16 and white 64) are still on backorder. Calling the phone number given says the phones are on backorder as well.
Based on what I've read, there really isn't any rhyme or reason to AT&T's method (or lack thereof) of shipping out iPhones. I'm sure it depends on many factors, such as time ordered, phone model, and location (not to mention AT&T's uncanny ability to screw things up).
EDIT: Also purchased a 16gb black from Apple and of course it's on its way.

Is anyone else still backordered? I ordered very early on the 7th... I can't believe my order hasn't even budged.
I wouldn't worry too much -- did two separate orders for my wife and I around that time. Her order has a tracking number, mine doesn't and I ordered them both within 10 minutes of each other.
My 16GB Black 4S has changed to "Status: Shipped" on 10/09/11 and has a FedEx tracking number but the number does not work on FedEx's website.
I ordered at 1:33am PST thru the AT&T Upgrader app.
My sister's White 16GB 4S which was ordered roughly the same time shows its still "Pending shipment".

YAHOO! My phone is in route. FINALLY! It's not showing on the order status through Apple. Found it on ups.com with the reference number. Ordered on Apple.com Saturday Afternoon.
BTW...The reason for the Saturday purchase was because the servers were overloaded overnight Thurs/Fri am and they gave me reference number to complete my order by 5pm On Saturday.

White iphone not shipping
Seems the white iphone are not shipping.
I hope this means that they are still available as I know many people ordered a white one and if they are not available then AT&T should send us a black one but I can see it that the white one isn't available and we have to wait 1-2 weeks to get our phone!

Someone earlier posted that they got a tracking number for a White 16GB 4S...

Happened in the last 3 hours sometimes as I didn't check between that period so not sure exactly when.
