AT&T: iPhone 6S/6S Plus Pre-Order Thread!

Yup, I called twice and he first time they said it would be added to my bill. The second time they said your card will be charged when you activate the phone.
 
Agreed! I started with a 16GB 4S and when I switched to AT&T I inherited my fiance's old 64GB 5 and its only about half full so I kept with a 64. I didn't even entertain the idea of the plus because its huge! I'm a small person and as I demonstrated to my fiance in the Apple store, it hangs halfway out of my pocket. I'll admit that I was wearing shorts that have small pockets, but I don't store much more hope in my jean pockets either. I also have to be able to somewhat conceal it while at work (long story short, I'll be on the other side of the building and my manager and I use our phones to communicate but I walk through guests so I can't look like a normal person that uses technology).

The final nail in the 6S Plus coffin was when I heard a rumor from somebody who claimed to have spoken to an engineer at apple, and they said the OIS isn't actually a feature on the 6 Plus so much as it is a "fix" to make the 6 Plus shoot photos as good as the 6. The story on that goes; The 6 Plus is a larger phone and when you hold it to take a pic, the lens is further from your wrist on the plus, your wrist being the axis on which the aim of your camera is dependent. So, it shakes more, hence the need for OIS and the reason why Apple doesn't advertise the "Plus" as having a better camera than the 6.

So take that with a grain of salt, or put it in your pipe and smoke it. Yeah.

so pretty much they have no idea whatsoever. a lot of people seem to be seeing delays in the processing of their accounts/ cards like crazy!

Trying to keep hopeful I was thinking the same thing. Is it possible that the phones have been labeled and shipped an they are slowly going through the process of processing a million orders? As they process each order we get the update. Here's hoping, right now things seem awfully backwards.

I didn't receive an email yet, and when I go to the order status, the big green letters of the status says "In Progress", however, on the same page just above ship date, it lists tracking number with a valid tracking number (which fedex says was picked up at 8:21pm). Also of note is that the ship date changed to 9/24 (from 10/16 thru 10/24).

FWIW make sure you don't miss the Tracking Number bit. I almost didn't notice it as I was looking for the green status text to change.

EDIT: Also of note is that it says picked up in Fort Worth, TX. The shipping method says Standard Overnight. I was just a little surprised to see the late pickup and have it still be in TX. Hopefully nothing happens to delay it!

Edit: Phx, AZ 128gb SG 6+...shipping just updated from 10/16-10/23 to delivery 9/25 8pm, just left Ft Worth at 8:20pm PST...credit card still showing $1.00 hold

I also went 64, but I have a feeling I probably will never fill it. Who knows though, maybe some video editing apps will come out or something... at least I won't have to worry about storage much.


The plus is way too big for me and I'm 6' tall, but I also have an ipad that I defer to for anything when I'm just around the house. It would sort of defeat the purpose for anything but watching videos and playing games, the former I usually do on my iPad and the latter I just don't do anymore at all. I think it can be useful for a person regardless of their size though, for example my mother carries a purse and my father got her a 6 plus, and she really likes it. For somebody that doesn't carry a purse, or have huge pockets though... not ideal.

Hope you enjoy your new phone! I think these iphones are going to be huge. Everybody expects apple to fail and they aren't going to.
