If done through Apple I would think a signature is required, but mine done through ATT.com didn't require a signature, they gave it to me without signing anything.

I ordered mine through ATT.com too... so thats good to hear that they can just probably leave the package! I hate waiting! lol!

I hear you, I was up extra early today so I didn't miss Fedex incase I needed to sign for it, hate waiting too.

Question for everyone. My iphone is scheduled to be delivered monday via Fedex. Now im assuming a signature will be required for the package. Since ill be at work, i was wondering if its possible to leave a note with my signature, on my door to have FedEx leave my package? Or does Apple shipments require an in person signature? Thanks!

If you ordered through AT&T; no signature is required. My Fedex package was left at my doorstep exposed to the elements (where I am, it is 105F temperatures and direct sunlight). The phone was so hot out of the box upon unboxing; that it refused to switch on and I had to wait for it to cool down before I could set it up.

OH man!! Thats scary!!! Thankfully im in a secured Apartment building, so it wont be exposed to the elements lol!

Ordered 128GB space grey about 40 mins ago. Order confirmation came. Status link immediately said "preparing for shipment" with a Nov 10-13th shipmate. Does it mean it will ship today?

Well, i could be wrong but plenty of people have been stuck on the 'preparing to ship' train without any avail, myself included. Again, I had 2 6S+'s 64gb one in RG and one in gold. Both have shipping times into November and show a status of 'preparing to ship'. I wish I could tell you it meant it was shipping quite soon, but I've had no movement and, sadly, no one here has expressed an order that has the same models as me. Here's to hoping. My wife and I are literally laughing out loud at how silly we are for being this anxious! We just generally aren't that type but I have to admit, it's hard for me to not click the refresh mail button every couple minutes on the off chance that I get confirmation. By the way, does anyone know if the status changes on your order when they send the conformation out? Or does it just stay stuck on 'preparing to ship'? Crossing my fingers for a surprising Friday for you guys!

I ordered thru apple thinking it would be faster but it seems people who went thru att are getting taken care of faster. I order on the 29th with processing still.

BTW....i thought they dont charge until they ship? AT&T charged my card (debit...show up on my statement immediately) after the Agent (online) did the order. Wasn't charged the upgrade fee using the Chat.

Mine showed up as pending but then went away a couple days later

The initial charge is just to validate the credit card is valid and has enough credit to cover the charge. This is called an initial hold as indicated above, this is the same way it is done for example when making purchases at Gas stations or for restaurant credit purchased when the "final" amount of the bill is not yet known. This initial hold will drop in 3-5 days depending on your Credit provider. Also the upgrade fee will not be charged when you order, it will be applied to your AT&T wireless bill when the phone is activated with a new Micro SIM.

It's going to be wild if they really try to get rid of 2 year contracts completely because many of us are on packages that had subsidies factored in the price. Sure, those plans may be LESS money than their new ridiculous plans, but that is not our fault.

T-Mobile did good and bad in introducing contract free, no subsidy accounts. It was good for their business. However, AT&T and Verizon copied they idea, while increasing their prices. Yep, they dropped contracts, but increased monthly fess while trying to get rid of the several hundred dollar subsidies. Amazing. They attempt to hide all this by offering monthly payments on devices.

I have been saying this all along. Dropping subsidy for legacy, accounts for 30% increase in cost, over two years.

I had suggested to them to drop the cost of UDP, from $30/mo to $20/mo. That's the original price. Then tack on unlimited texting. Also enable tethering. Then you can get rid of the subsidy....

I was able to walk into the AT&T store here in NJ and get a iPhone 6s+ 128 gig. Of course it was "the last one" so they say... Its pretty cool, the bigger screen is a huge change for me.

Just finished my pre-order, AT&T Premier. AT&T went live about 10 minutes before 3:01...but hey, whatever.

I went with the iPhone 6s 64GB Rose Gold.

Estimated Ship Date: Sept. 24th

Fast and easy!!!

Total iPhone 6s envy right now.:p

Congrats, here in NY region I live in, there is no 6S Pluses in any AT&T store, plenty of 6S's, just not the plus.

It's not true.
Cell phone companies really don't have the "pay $199 two year agreement contracts anymore." This is ever since the government forced apple to let us unlock the phones.

If you bought a $900 iPhone plus for $199 on a two year contract, cancel contract for $175 and the unlock the phone. You can sell it on eBay and make like a $500 profit, while the cell phone companies loose out on the payments you'd make within that two year period.

This is why companies like AT&T have the next program. I went on the next program and its not so bad.. My mom and I swap out upgrades overtime a new phone comes out because by this time, the next contract is already paid off. So if her phone isn't eligible for an upgrade, we use mine and vis versa...

I get that Next is not the worst of programs, but the problem has become that other programs are just better for the customer. Say you compare the Next program to the iPhone upgrade program. When you want to upgrade your phone, you can do so through Apple after only paying for 1/2 the phone and trading it in. Under Next, you have to pay for 3/4 of the phone before you can trade it in, at which point you're better off just paying it off and selling it. I just have a hard time going with Next when I see other programs that work better for the customers.

And FWIW, I won't change my overall plan no matter what because they can't offer me a comparable mobileshare plan for the price I pay. I'll just never sign a contract with them again.
