Weird, I just got a text a few minutes ago from att saying they upgraded me to unlimited minutes (from my $69.99 family talk 700 voice plan) after I preordered an iPhone 6s rose color on my line for my wife.

Anyone else get this text after their pre order?

While I highly doubt I ever need "unlimited minutes" since I already had rollover plus 10 landlines and any mobile.

But it's still nice to have. Since I have the grandfathered unlimited data plus $20 unlimited family text and option to always add a $9.99 line WITHOUT data. I now have a lot of flexibility with my line.

I checked in my OLAM it says unlimited already

Thanks God I didn't switch to t-mobile :) 9.99 per line - this is the cheapest plan you can get.

Going to close my thread somehow

Same here. I have the Family Talk 1400. :)

What kind of data plan were you guys on before? I'm currently on Family Talk 550 with 3 lines, maybe I'll get the lucky text too :)

Nothing on my Family Talk 700 plan. But we have 6000 roll over and use barely 100 minutes a month.

What AT&T will most likely do is prevent certain features from working like Wi-Fi calling. Rumor has it you need unlimited voice to use this feature. As we know most 2 year contracts are unlimited data and a minute voice plan. Granted there is a Unlimited Voice option under the old Family Share Plan but that is like $70. As New features are added to smart phones that take away profit from the carriers like iMessage, you will see them become more creative. Granted Unlimited users finally got FaceTime over cellular but they still don't have tethering. Watch tomorrow and see how many Unlimited user with minute plans can't enable Wifi calling.
There's definitely something going on. This is getting interesting.

I didn't receive any message on any of my 3 lines as far as I know, but on myAT&T website, looking at my plans & feature, it says unlimited anytime minute on my FT550 plan... No confirmation if that is actually happening or not though.

Did you Pre-order the iPhone 6s?
Yes through Apple with the iPhone Upgrade Program, so I know AT&T isn't seeing it. By my GF ordered it through Apple Full Price but she gave all her AT&T information. Her family account didn't get the upgrade either.

I haven't gotten anything on a family 1400 but we have thousands and thousands of rollover, with thousands expiring each month

After reading this, I check on AT&T's website, and it also says unlimited anytime minutes!! Hopefully that means I have unlimited with my FT550 now! BTW, still no text from AT&T.

Im on the FT 1400 and didn't get a text. I think AT&T is doing this to all plans, slowly but surely. The question is, should I go ahead an downgrade to the FT 700 plan?

I don't think they gave you unlimited minutes because of your preorders or family talk or anything of the sort.

I'm on an individual line and have been on the 450 minutes plan for a quite a few years now. I got a text from ATT out of the blue informing me about the unlimited minutes.

And I'm glad that I preservered and hung onto my unlimited data plan even with all their enticing earlier to give us 15GB for the price of 10GB, etc etc.

Woohoo! For that, ATT you've earned an early upgrade from me.

I agree that it doesn't have anything to do with the preorder or FT plans...I think they're basically doing this so that wifi calling will work. I'm just really happy that I've held out long enough to keep/have unlimited data and minutes!

So eventually, everyone (even those of us still grandfathered on unlimited data and 450 minutes a month voice) will have unlimited minutes? Then again, I do have 5000 rollover minutes as I'm not really a voice person.

So if everyone is getting unlimited talk, your payment is looked at your current rate. I pay for 700 minutes but those who pay for 500 or 450 get unlimited at their current rate.

AT&T also raised it's unlimited data restriction from 5 GB to 22 GB.

Where did you see this? I was chatting with AT&T and they did not see this in any promotion or "cascade" role out. I showed him the text message and he couldn't find anything about it.

My account, FT9 SHom 600R UM2M, no change.

Note Unlimited Moble to Moble, is not nation wide. I have a pretty sucky plan for calling outside California.

It does appear to be locked in at your current rate. My text does mention I get to keep the benefit as long as I stay in the 450 rollover plan.
