I guess living in the middle of nowhere (Des Moines) you can half expect to get things last. But its frustrating that AT&T still hasn't rolled out LTE, while all the other major carriers have for at least 2 years.

Basically just VZW right? I doubt TMobile and Sprint have anything up in Iowa ;)

since last week, AT&T LTE is FINALLY live and working in Florham Park and Madison, NEW JERSEY (MORRIS COUNTY)!!!

I was at the Iowa State Fair last night and saw a wonderful sight! My phone was getting LTE in the middle of Des Moines! Unfortunately it's only because AT&T set up temporary towers to handle the extra load of people for the 10 days of the fair. I was disappointed to see the LTE wasn't anywhere else in the city...

I was just going to post this :)

Someone on a different forum said they saw an AT&T COW setup at the fairgrounds broadcasting LTE.

Bloomington / Normal IL is getting it this month. LTE is turned up on at least one tower. 5 bars towards center of town, 1-2 bars on edge of town where 4G signal becomes stronger and takes over. Town has a super high concentration of devices AND we have to contend with a large influx of students. Should be interesting to see how congested it will be. 4G service here (if you can call it that) is horrible.

Wow! Those are terrible speeds for AT&T LTE (must be the congestion?). Was in Omaha (Gretna - small bedroom town just outside of Omaha) over the weekend and did a speedtest - 45 down and 25 up. Now I hear Sprint will beat AT&T to the punch in DSM.

I don't think COWs ever output the kind of speeds we usually are used to.

I doubt Sprint will beat them. They'll probably get a dozen or so towers up and lie to everywhere that LTE is up. AT&T makes sure it has a near complete rollout before launching a market.

Northeast coverage map got tons of new LTE expansions

Dover, NH went up. Last week, it was just Portsmouth

More LTE is up in Southern Maine. That entire length of 95 has LTE up right now, but AT&T has highlighted a little so far. I have it all mapped on sensorly

Norwich, CT is up

This makes almost all of CT and MA have LTE coverage.

Yep, on the east side LTE is very prominent where i live...then it was turned off late yesterday and back on this morning.

How long does it take for AT&T to update their map? Their PR from yesterday said the Youngstown-Warren area finally has LTE, but their map hasn't been updated yet.

No LTE where I live and when I called about it, the rep said the nearest LTE tower was about 3 miles away, the next town over.

Update 8/20/13: Just checked the map again, and LTE has been added to my region. All round me is LTE now, but I'm at work and my AT&T sim is at home, so I will try it tonight and see if I have LTE or not.

Update 2 8/20/2013: Map says I should have LTE, but still only 4G

From some tweets and other boards it sounds like certain towers in Des Moines are emitting LTE but still hasn't switched over totally yet so it is extremely spotty.

LTE here in Denver is so unreliable at the moment. It was turned on in my area sometime back in July. At One point, I tested at 41Mbps down. A week later it was turned down to about 4Mbps down. Now it's all over the map and I still don't have LTE where I live.

LTE is still more widespread than T-Mobiles LTE in my area but I do get T-Mobiles LTE at my house. AT&T can't ever seem to get me a reliable data connection at my house and they have had over 6 years to try since the original iPhone. All I get are edge speeds at home.

I ran a speed test at the fair and only got 9mb down, so nothing to spectacular.

Tons of LTE is up in Maine. North of Portland. Still testing. You can't connect to it for long. Phone prefers the stronger HSPA signal over it.

Looks like AT&T will be blowing past the 400 market number very very soon. They did something very similar by releasing a list like this for year end 2013. Most of the markets were up by Thanksgiving

So the web page says nothing about expanding Denver. I've never been able to have a reliable data connection since the original iPhone where I live. Why bother now?

No AT&T LTE in Tupelo, MS

Hello, I am so so frustrated right now. I live in Tupelo, Mississippi and we do not have AT&T LTE as of 8-21-13. Actually, I can drive 15 miles north or south and its on. It has lit up in several small towns in Mississippi, and a new batch of 50 markets came out today on the AT&T website, and again, other towns in MS are listed but not Tupelo. AT&T appears to have put up two new towers in Tupelo within the past month or so, and I know they are AT&T, because their orange logo is on the door where the cables go into the buildings. The towers look like they have the LTE panels, and I've seen two other AT&T towers in the area being upgraded. Should I be disheartened that my town is not on the list for launches coming up by the end of the year? Local AT&T reps either cannot tell me or really don't know if or when LTE will launch, because I have asked them. One time I got a November tentative launch month, and the next time another rep said, "probably never." I appreciate your time in reading this. I have kept up with the launches throughout the year, and have patiently been waiting for my town. What is your opinion on this? Is it a possibility that LTE will launch, and then be announced? I wonder why they don't list all cities to be launched. BTW, Tupelo and the surrounding area has about 100,000 people, and there are about 17 towers as of 2009 data. The two new ones will make 21 towers total.

In major cities, except in like the south, ATT is usually only getting up to 20, maybe 25 down and like 10-15 up. Congestion can make it even worse too. My avg is probably around 5 during the day and 10-15 at night. Kinda sad... but im sure things will improve over the next year or two.

AT&T LTE just came on here in Tupelo, MS!!!

I was completely discouraged yesterday, because I didn't see my town, Tupelo, MS on the end of year launch AT&T LTE launch list. At 8:10 pm this evening it went live. I was so amazed and excited!! Don't give up if your city is not on the rollout list, and you still don't have LTE. Apparently, they don't always announce pre-launch cities.
