You missed the cutoff, it will increase next bill. Go back an look at Feb/March, it was probably $0.76 for you then.

I've been waiting for the next iPhones to see if AT&T (or another carrier) offers any kind of super upgrade deal. They have only been offering at best a buy one get one deal which is of no interest to me since I'm just a single line customer. If not I'll most likely be moving to MintMobile (prepaid from T-Mobile).

When you pay for a service, does that payment not go to service the infrastructure that’s supplying you the service?

You don’t go to a restaurant and pay for your meal, and get a $2 charge added on the end for “Water and Sewage”. It’s part of the price of the item.

This is absurd. There’s no such thing as “consumer protection” anymore.

Glad I switched to T-Mobile last year. The rate they give you is what you pay. Refreshing. Now if I Comcast would do the same.

I gotta be honest, this information is quite shocking to me. After all, it's AT&T. One of the most forthright and honest companies I've had the pleasure of dealing with in my lifetime. Even though this is shocking, I'm fairly certain the fee increases are justified. AT&T wouldn't arbitrarily and unnecessarily gouge customers. It's just not in their corporate DNA. For those who would complain, I'd say hold off on that. I'm sure AT&T has our best interest at heart with the fee increases. They have always and will always continue to put customers above all else.

We will release your kids now. Thank you for your cooperation.

You can keep the youngest. It's really for the best. The wife and I will make another. We'll try to get it right this time.

Update: AT&T SUDDENLY REVERSES DECISION ON DOUBLING ADMIN FEES. GETS RID OF THEM ALTOGETHER. LOWERS ALL BILLS BY 30%

Please take back. Will do anything!!!!

New phone. Who dis?

I sure hope you are sarcastic...

AT&T also recently upped my fiber bill to $88 from $80, I haven't looked into why. They made it very clear when I signed up that $80 included all taxes and fees.

Ah yes, the "Give us more money" fee. Super shady and shouldn't be allowed.
Ajit Pai begs to differ. I'm sure this is a tie in to the Net Neutrality repeal he so heavily lobbied to be "consumer friendly". It's also ridiculous how they make millions of dollars and charge customers their "standard industry practice" fee. I can't say the same about Verizon as I'm sure they'll follow suit, if not already doing it. I gotta double check my bill tonight.

They increase things by 67¢ a month and MacRumors people lose their minds. Might be time to get rid of that $1000 iPhone if things are that tight for you kids.
That's the mentality they hope we have. You are staring at the 67 cents as a small amount. Just like AT&T wants you to do. Meanwhile, in AT&T land they are staring at this:
a move that will earn the company an additional $800 million in annual revenue.
$800 million dollars just by charging customers 67 cents for nothing.

I just got my bill yesterday and noticed this. We'll be switching to the T Mobile ONE Military plan come iPhone announcement time.

We just did this. Watched on the fence for years waiting for TMo to get enough coverage to be workable where we are, and finally left ATT after 12+ years. The honeymoon might end after the first road trip to the rural West, but for now it’s reeeeaaaaally refreshing.

Just curious. Where did you stop reading? At the point where I stopped praising AT&T or at the point where I suggested the company keep my youngest kidnapped child cuz she's so horrible that in order for AT&T to give her back they were willing to cancel the fee and lower bills by 30%...

I'm guessing it was at the point where I stopped praising AT&T:D:p

Wouldn't it be great if we can toss our kids at att to teach them a lesson, and by them I mean att! Sigh, guess the best we could do is teach our kids to stay away from them (along with Comcast).

I was with AT&T for a long time and they did not give a f*** about customers. I left for VZ - great customer service, but the price was too high for the coverage. I have been with TMO for about 4 months and I love it so much. Great for international travel. I have been to Europe 3 times recently and no issue with the free data roaming.

Yep. 67 cents. Hang AT&T.

$3000 for 4 year old technology... defend Apple.

The 67 cent increase would have had to be presented to the Regulatory Commission. And it’s a lengthy review. They have to show that the cost of providing service has increased. All utilities are regulated.

This is a regulated fee. If the government review says no, then it doesn’t go up. If the government review says they’re not charging enough, then they increase it to what the government says. I’ve reviewed these processes behind the scenes. They can’t arbitrarily increase those fees. It’s a government process.

If you’re comparing it to other companies with flat rates, rest assured that you’re still paying the fee. It’s just not disclosed as clearly.

I have a flat rate on my Internet service. But the fees are definitely in there if I review what makes up the fee.

I guess no one remembers that AT&T lowered a couple of their fees a few years back. Think of it this way, 5 years from now you'll only have made up for what they could have been charging.

I hate AT&T I wish they would bankrupt. And I have them as my provider lol. Bill is never the same. If your in contract they shouldn’t be able to raise your bill at all.

They raised the line access to $30 a line here recently. I hope T-Mobile builds a good enough network for me soon. I would love to get rid of AT&T. I downright hate them.

For those complaining, here's your chance to leave AT&T without penalty!

As part of your user agreement, if they change any part of your contract, you have the ability to get out of your contract within 30 days of the change (it may be more depending on carrier).

When cellular carriers make what's called a "material change" to a contract, you've got 30 days to bail, scot-free. A material change can be anything from additional service or maintenance fees, adjustments in the rates you're charged, or changes in discounts applied to your account. If you've spotted a material change, you should be able to contact customer service and end your contract.

I did this back in 2007 when leaving Sprint for AT&T and the original iPhone.

Here is the language right in the Verizon user agreement as an example.

Can Verizon change this Agreement or my Service?
We may change prices or any other term of your Service or this Agreement at any time, but we'll provide notice first, including written notice if you have Postpay Service. If you use your Service after the change takes effect that means you're accepting the change. If you're a Postpay customer and a change to your Plan or this Agreement has a material adverse effect on you, you can cancel the line of Service that has been affected within 60 days of receiving the notice with no early termination fee if we fail to negate the change after you notify us of your objection to it. Notwithstanding this provision, if we make any changes to the dispute resolution provision of this Agreement, such changes will not affect the resolution of any disputes that arose before such change.

Death by a thousand cuts.

67 cents. Hang AT&T.

They can’t arbitrarily increase those fees. It’s a government process.

Since July 2017, Comcast has started adding program access fees on top of the subscription fee for a particular package - any one of them.

With this government, there will be no oversight.

Next, parking fee for the AT&T employers/employees since they have to get to work to maintain the infrastructure.

Ajit Pai!
