I hate AT&T I wish they would bankrupt. And I have them as my provider lol. Bill is never the same. If your in contract they shouldn’t be able to raise your bill at all.
[doublepost=1530142521][/doublepost]
They raised the line access to $30 a line here recently. I hope T-Mobile builds a good enough network for me soon. I would love to get rid of AT&T. I downright hate them.

Read your user agreement, if you notify them that you don't accept the change within 30 days of them notifying you, they have to allow you out of your contract without a termination fee.

Right here in the AT&T user agreement, section 1.3

WE'LL DISCLOSE THE CHANGE AT LEAST ONE BILLING CYCLE IN ADVANCE (EITHER THROUGH A NOTICE WITH YOUR BILL, A TEXT MESSAGE TO YOUR DEVICE, OR OTHERWISE), AND YOU MAY TERMINATE THIS AGREEMENT WITHOUT PAYING AN EARLY TERMINATION FEE OR RETURNING OR PAYING FOR ANY PROMOTIONAL ITEMS, PROVIDED YOUR NOTICE OF TERMINATION IS DELIVERED TO US WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS AFTER THE FIRST BILL REFLECTING THE CHANGE.

So there you go. Quit complaining and leave AT&T as soon as they notify you of the change. Move on to another carrier you think is so much better.

I just looked, T-Mobile does not charge a junk fee like this (we are grandfathered into an older plan that doesn't include all taxes and fees, current plans with T-Mobile are the price you see is the price you pay), so how can this be an industry standard?

I gotta be honest, this information is quite shocking to me. After all, it's AT&T. One of the most forthright and honest companies I've had the pleasure of dealing with in my lifetime. Even though this is shocking, I'm fairly certain the fee increases are justified. AT&T wouldn't arbitrarily and unnecessarily gouge customers. It's just not in their corporate DNA. For those who would complain, I'd say hold off on that. I'm sure AT&T has our best interest at heart with the fee increases. They have always and will always continue to put customers above all else.

We will release your kids now. Thank you for your cooperation.

You can keep the youngest. It's really for the best. The wife and I will make another. We'll try to get it right this time.

Update: AT&T SUDDENLY REVERSES DECISION ON DOUBLING ADMIN FEES. GETS RID OF THEM ALTOGETHER. LOWERS ALL BILLS BY 30%

Please take back. Will do anything!!!!

New phone. Who dis?
Thank you so much, I needed a good laugh, they are one of the least ethical companies that I have dealt with, but I am sure you were being sarcastic here.

You missed the cutoff, it will increase next bill. Go back an look at Feb/March, it was probably $0.76 for you then.

You are right!

I can't complain too much. I'm getting a 25% corporate discount on my wireless plan and another $10 for bundling with my 50 Mbps symmetric ATT Fiber, for a total of $87/mo. I kicked Crapca$t to the curb more than decade ago in favor of free OTA TV, so I conservatively estimate I've saved $100/mo*12mo/y*10y=$12,000

I've been waiting for the next iPhones to see if AT&T (or another carrier) offers any kind of super upgrade deal. They have only been offering at best a buy one get one deal which is of no interest to me since I'm just a single line customer. If not I'll most likely be moving to MintMobile (prepaid from T-Mobile).
T-Mobile has been doing a buy one get one free on the iPhone for a while now, this seems to be the new upgrade deal that is out for all carriers.

Sounds like the same thing that giant cable company does... oh wait - I think there’s a connection.

Yep. 67 cents. Hang AT&T.

$3000 for 4 year old technology... defend Apple.

The 67 cent increase would have had to be presented to the Regulatory Commission. And it’s a lengthy review. They have to show that the cost of providing service has increased. All utilities are regulated.

This is a regulated fee. If the government review says no, then it doesn’t go up. If the government review says they’re not charging enough, then they increase it to what the government says. I’ve reviewed these processes behind the scenes. They can’t arbitrarily increase those fees. It’s a government process.

If you’re comparing it to other companies with flat rates, rest assured that you’re still paying the fee. It’s just not disclosed as clearly.

I have a flat rate on my Internet service. But the fees are definitely in there if I review what makes up the fee.
Actually, this fee doesn't have to go through the regulatory process because it is an "administrative fee" and it is under a certain dollar amount (I think less than $10). With other companies you may be paying the fee, but with a flat rate, the price you were quoted is the price you pay, period, end of story unless you do international traveling/calling, then you pay for that usage as applicable.

Glad that I moved out of this POS service. They are a shady business and their customer support after US business hours is a joke.

"This is a standard administrative fee across the wireless industry, which helps cover costs we incur for items like cell site maintenance and interconnection between carriers."

LOL. What's next? A fee to maintain AT&T's wireless industry lobbying group?

That got me too! Uh, shouldn’t the price I pay for the service cover all the costs of providing that service? I don’t pay a an administrative fee at McDonald’s to help pay for the microwaves.

Nah bud, I was being 100% percent serious. AT&T kidnapped my kids and forced me to write that post. I also blackmailed them to drop the fees by threatening to not take back my youngest kid.:p:D

I almost spat out hot coffee on my young one reading this!! Thanks for the good laugh!!

The issue may be more of a "it's the principal" of such fees that sucks.

Then use this fee increase to get out of your contract and leave AT&T. Seriously. Section 1.3 of your user agreement allows you to do so.

IF WE INCREASE THE PRICE OF ANY OF THE SERVICES TO WHICH YOU SUBSCRIBE, BEYOND THE LIMITS SET FORTH IN YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUMMARY, OR IF WE MATERIALLY DECREASE THE GEOGRAPHICAL AREA IN WHICH YOUR AIRTIME RATE APPLIES (OTHER THAN A TEMPORARY DECREASE FOR REPAIRS OR MAINTENANCE), WE'LL DISCLOSE THE CHANGE AT LEAST ONE BILLING CYCLE IN ADVANCE (EITHER THROUGH A NOTICE WITH YOUR BILL, A TEXT MESSAGE TO YOUR DEVICE, OR OTHERWISE), AND YOU MAY TERMINATE THIS AGREEMENT WITHOUT PAYING AN EARLY TERMINATION FEE OR RETURNING OR PAYING FOR ANY PROMOTIONAL ITEMS, PROVIDED YOUR NOTICE OF TERMINATION IS DELIVERED TO US WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS AFTER THE FIRST BILL REFLECTING THE CHANGE.

You're free to cancel with no early termination fee thanks to this teeny tiny little fee change.

I do not have a contract with ATT&T. My post was simply to suggest an alternative interpretation of the comments here.

Hahahahaaa. Hahahahahahaaaa. Hahahahahahaaaa. Soooooo glad I left At&t. They crap on their customers...every way they can.
I have no idea why anyone would stay with them. It’s as if they are having a contest with Comcast to see who can be more evil. Be Best, ATT!
[doublepost=1530147471][/doublepost]They want their customers to help pay for their acquisition...and on top of that...charge those customers to use it. Lmfao.

You're gonna be pretty upset when you see all the other providers doing this too. This is the return to business that Trump and his FCC promised. You'll see the others doing the same too.

Does the iPhone upgrade program play nice with T-mobile yet? It may be time to switch!

God forbid part of the the bloated prices we pay just for service every month go to "help defray certain expenses AT&T incurs, such as interconnection and cell site rents and maintenance"!!! Isn't that part of the cost of doing business? Oh, but fees aren't taxable income, right? Bastards.

Time to make a call.
