I have Verizon in the Miami - Ft. Lauderdale area and have no complaints whatsoever. While I can't compare the speed as I've never had another carrier while living here, I can vouch for the consistency of the service. I find that frequently when others have poor reception, like at my work for example, I have no issues. During Hurricane Irma my wife and I never lost service, which was absolutely invaluable.

MetroPCS/T-Mobile is the fastest for the Los Angeles County. I was paying a lot with AT&T and when I switched I was surprised to find out how much better MetroPCS was and still is. The only problem is that as of today they don't have a plan for the Apple Watch :(

I can always tell when someone has AT&T because the audio is all garbled with lots of SHHHHH within the audio. I'll ask them if they have AT&T cellular and they will say yes.

Too bad their Customer Service is awful.

AT&T’s excellent customer service is the reason we’ve been with them for many years. Every time we think of making a change I cringe at the middle-eastern T-Mobile reps we get who never quite understand what you need and the rip-off negative pseudo-superior attitudes I’ve experienced with Verizon! Never again!!

I’ve had AT&T since the Cingular Wireless days and CS has gradually improved from god-awful to very good in the last three encounters. They truly seem to want to make you happy. Competition? I don’t know.

I agree 100%! I have never had an issue with AT&T customer support. I do not know if it is because I have a New York State Employee account (for working at a hospital) or they just improved.

Back in the Cingular days, they were pretty terrible...but I wanted the first generation iPhone (and every iPhone since) so I switched from Sprint-Nextel.

More on topic, that map seems to be correct as I live (obviously) in the NorthEast and my signal now, compared to say two years ago, is always four bars. It most likely helps that my condo building has either AT&T repeaters or tower like equipment on the top. I talked with the AT&T guys when they were putting the equipment on the top of the building, however, cannot remember what they put up there.

My guess is repeaters? Maybe someone with better knowledge of what they put on top of buildings (mine is 11 stories) can tell me what is up above me a bit?

Meh. I’m temporarily in New York, originally from London. Am used to getting 150+ Mbps on EE in the UK. Roaming on AT&T is like taking a trip back to 2013 when I was using Three on my old but trusty 3GS. Latency, frequent switches to 3G speeds etc.

I have actually never experienced a LTE network as fast as EE, anywhere outside the UK.

Must admit that LTE and when I was with AT&T was faster than I have now after switching to T-Mobile. Snappier. Better reception in my home and workplace also.

But happier with T-Mobile as its half the cost with the shared plan I have, and the free data while overseas saves me hundreds every year compared to AT&T.

Living in South Central I'm happy to have verizon, when I visit the southwest not so much... so from my experience that map seems pretty accurate
Same. I live in Louisiana. And find that Verizon is much more reliable. Of course everything depends on what part of the country you are in.

For the most part, AT&T was pretty good for me in Miami, Cleveland, and Nashville areas.

Even rural areas are getting better cellular service.

Just 5 years ago, I couldn’t get ANY cellular reception at my sister’s house about 6-7 miles outside the closest town. Now I can stream all video services pretty reliably at around 12-14mbps.

When AT&T is fast, it's fast. But when you're in a bad reception or congested area, no matter if it's in the middle of a big city, then you'll be cursing your iPhone like it was the 3G. I've called them countless times to see when they plan new towers in the areas I have trouble and they never have an answer for me.

I’m still getting 3G 70% of the time here in the UK, so yeah... it’s all relative

You can't take this report serious at all and it doesn't provide any meaningful results. There are a lot more customers that live outside of these cities where they did the test. So does that mean the people who live outside of the tested areas don't count or matter? I have been in areas that showed good signal but awful service. This report should not be used by any of the carriers to gloat about

That is all academic. What is important, is the quality of coverage for an individual, where he or she resides and traverses.
I totally agree with you. I do quite a few road trips to different areas and service have varied.

Only 30 cities in 25 states hardly a representation of the country. I have ATT and love em but geez who are we fooling here with these stats.
Exactly! This is just a small sampling and there are a lot of spaces in between these cities.

I don't believe AT&T actually has 5G in most if not all places. They just changed the logo on your phone. Fake.

I also believe that ones experience, or lack of it, is due to Apples choice of modem. I have rarely had an iPhone with good reception overall. I know others on ATT that get better reception and they are not using iPhone. For example, I can leave DC and drive the GW Parkway towards the Beltway on a call and it will drop. At my home, I have to use WIFI to make reliable calls and I live in a major city outside of DC. Been this way for YEARS.

This issue should be focussed back on Apple to make better choices and designs.

Same as my results. When I lived in the SouthEast (North Carolina), I found T-Mobile to be the best. I now live in the NorthEast (New York) and find AT&T to be the best.
My cheap Walmart plan is better than all these carriers

So does AT&T pay more in advertising and that's why they have a great review? There service here is questionable to say the least. Verizon's sales people don't even know how the packages work together from our experience in looking for good to great signal. Had T-Mobile's signal been better at my work location I would go with them but there also busy trying to build out there networks. I will say the call quality with them was better then AT&T and Verizon? Go figure.

I love how they cover up Kansas and Oklahoma... We're so insignificant they we don't even show up on a map. Are they South-Central? North-Central... who cares, they are Unimportant-Central.
