I cancelled my order online via chat and it was literally instant.

This morning I woke up and checked the Apple Store Online to see if they had any SG 128 for pickup. They did to my surprise! I cancelled my ATT Pre-order and immediately tried to put my order in with Apple for pick up. It literally took no more than 2 minutes from when I cancelled to when my upgrade was available again. When the email showed up in my inbox was effectively when my upgrade was available to me again. Completed my order with Apple for pick up today and will go get my phone today once Apple notifies me its ready for pickup.

Its been a long strange trip with ATT. I can say I won't pre-order with them again but when I ordered with them it was driven by troubles with Apple's website. Anyway, maybe I will maybe I won't; at this point I'm just happy I'm getting my phone with the configuration, storage, and color I wanted before October!

Good luck everyone. Keep your eyes on the apple store if that's an option for you. If it's not, well there's one less pre-order standing (potentially) between you and your phone...

Edit:

The Premier cancellation isn't a clear process. Clicking the button takes you back to the screen where you input order # and zip; it doesn't tell you anything. I did this 3 times before I realized I was getting emails with links to confirm my cancellation. Guess I should have read the text in the model when I clicked cancel ;)

I placed an order (premier) just before pre order opening and finally got my tracking Saturday, will be here MONDAY!

What will be interesting is that my wife placed a pre order that same day in the store at 10:00 AM with an estimated shipping of 10/31.

After canceling her order and trying to get in store I was not successful so I have placed the order online through premier TODAY and have a shipping date of 10/29.

Now how does that work, sometime later that I place the order and still a sooner ship date then the original order on pre sale day! HMMMMMMM
 
Literally nothing has changed with my order status in 5 days. Still waiting on a 6+ 64SG and a 6+ 64Gold. If any were to show up available in local Apple stores we are going to cancel, buy through Apple making the move to Verizon. But we have woke up 4 times during the night to check and there has been no new inventory. We are located in DFW where everyone's damn phones have been shipped from. Never felt so screwed over by a company.
 
I think it's just a hold on your account to reserve it but won't go through until the whole transaction takes place in the store. I've heard people having the ability to change to next program in store. Even if they have to transact it as a returned item, then re-purchase through next program. If this is possible, this is so much a better process than att's pre order fiasco. I ordered within mins of launch for 6 + 64GB SG and didnt get any shipping notification as of yesterday morning. Decided to cancel and try my luck with apple. Lo and behold, they had one avail in store stock at about 8pm last night. I'm going to the store later today to pick it up and try to switch to next.

Let's us know how it goes. This will be my plan B if nothing changes by Wednesday, but for now I'm good.
 
I also tried canceling my "Premier" order yesterday to no avail. Shortly afterwards, my order changed to include an additional order starting with the letter "b". This occurred around 2:30 - 3:00 yesterday afternoon. I thought maybe it was a good sign and expected to see some "shipping" information. Still nothing.... Did you ever get your shipping information?

Have been following this thread since its creation on 9/15. In pre-order limbo with most of you who remain on this thread. Long post but have laid out my thoughts and conclusion.

Signed up for MyUPS and FEDEX Delivery Manager. Nothing in either.

My qualitative analysis on this:

1) AT&T has royally screwed up the Premier ordering process. Why the long delay between when I entered the order and the "process time?" It is also clear based on posts of screen shots that people who ordered the same phone much later than many of us got their phones on launch day from AT&T.

2) As I've monitored the Apple store stock in my area for the past few days, there are none of the SG IP+ 64 or 128 GB phones available for in-store pickup within 250 miles at any Apple store, for AT&T or Verizon.

3) It appears that the phones are being shipped from China via UPS to Louisville. The AT&T preorders appear to be shipped from Dallas / Fort Worth via Fed Ex. This means that UPS has to transport the phones from Louisville to DFW before AT&T can do any shipping.

4) Based on Flight Aware, there are no scheduled UPS planes going to DFW today, therefore I don't expect much shipping activity today by AT&T.

My conclusion? AT&T really screwed up, however the root cause of this problem is Apple, who severely restricted the availability of the IP+ model, particularly Space Grey, in the U.S.

Why did Apple restrict the availability? Many possibilities. Yield problems? Heads in the sand (people REALLY don't want a phone that big, right?) I also suspect the profit margin on the Plus phone is lower than the regular 6. They can also ship more 6 phones on a plane than 6 plus.

I realize this does nothing towards getting our phones sooner, but I've been so unbelivably irritated about this that I needed to get this off my chest.

Good luck to you all, and maybe we'll see another wave of shipments for Tuesday delivery. I hope so.....

They have a gold in Austin...no SG at that size unfortunately, but 128 SG if you wanted the space bump and to make a drive ;)

So I decided to cancel my premier order of the 6+ 64gb sg and go to my local Apple Store since it was available for pick up.
However after I cancelled last night I noticed that my upgrade eligibility was not getting reset (I was using my wife's line to upgrade mine). So I thought the system probably needed some time to sort things out. By this time apple in store availability was also gone obviously.
Woke up this morning, and both my lines are saying I'm not eligible until 6/2/2015. But when I check my wife's line it said no longer under contract. So none of it made sense as usual.
Called AT&T to get it resolved. After almost an hour even they could not figure it out. Now they have submitted some case to rectify this problem, which only someone higher up their food chain can resolve. And of course that takes time.... The expected resolution date is 9/30/2014.
Which means until this gets resolved no new iPhone for me :( very sad and just disappointed with this whole preorder experience. Seriously thinking about switching carriers. The only thing that's holding me back is my current grandfather unlimited plan. Don't know what else I can do, other than wait :(

I just did the exact same thing. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with AT&T anymore and waste anymore time checking if my order shipped. If anyone is in Austin, TX, the Domain store has the 128GB in space gray for pickup if you buy it off of Apple.com.
 
8 planes have landed on US soil since yesterday this time, there gotta be tracking info coming for you guys.....i can't wait for tomorrow, but i hope you guys get what you want today!

If you can't cancel, that means your phone is about to ship. Same thing happened to me yesterday with the extra order number and then a couple hours later both my phones shipped.

I have the button that everyone references, I then clicked it and it opened up a page and said - Do you want to confirm cancellation. I was worried about going through with it but wondered if people clicked that button previously and it immediately told them they couldn't cancel or if they had to click the confirmation button to find out it wouldn't go through.

Ordered at 12:02 PST. Iphone 6 plus 64GB gold. Ordered another at 12:30 PST. Iphone 6 plus 64GB SG. Dad ordered one at 12:45 PST - Iphone 6 plus 64GB gold. Friend ordered 11:58 PST same phone. All Premier customers, none of us have received a tracking number. 10/2-10/13 like many of you.

Just wanting to figure out to see if I can test the waters on canceling without canceling and see if its on the way.

The only way to know is to actually try to cancel. If it lets you, then your phone was not about to ship. If it doesn't let you, you should getting a shipping notification shortly. That's exactly how it went down for me yesterday. Tried to cancel using the email button and it would not let me. Two hours later, both my phones shipped for tomorrow delivery.
