I'm in California too they dropped the initial bank debit after 3 days. I explicitly calked because I was concerned and I was told I would be billed my first bill after activation. I didn't use credit card I had used bank debit card.

No wonder we are waiting so long
Well no wonder we waited just over a week to get our phones. This production has been not good to say the least... Here is a few qoutes on why we aren't or didn't see our phones on launch day...
"Another problem reportedly rests with flaws in the production output. The percentage of successful iPhone 6 Plus units assembled is only around 50 percent to 60 percent, a person at a display component supplier told the Journal. That means Foxconn has to throw out the units that don't meet quality standards. The iPhone 6 fares better with a successful production rate of more than 85 percent. Another reason for the limited supply is the shortage of 5.5-inch displays."
50-60 percent is an embarrassing number. Think about it, they make 100 6+'s. That means only 50 can be sold since they meet quality standards. Wow, talk about production fail..and they even have a shortage of displays..jesus... Here is the link on the full article..

Yes. I emailed Randall Davis the ATT CEO and I was surprised to get a call back from his secretary. I guess I was trying to speed things up because my DH is a blind Vet and we r 82 yrs old. We had a nice talk but no encouragement about my phone delivery. I asked her specifically how they would handle the taxes on the Next plan and she said we would be charged our first bill withi 30 days of the phone activation. We would also get our first Next charge than. I thought it was real nice she called. I guess because of our situation. She told me I probably would not recieve my phone before my November delivery date unless they are able to get more phones out. I was real disappointed. I wonder if the 16 GB gold are some if the 50%.
Might I ask what DH is?

It doesn't make sense to me. Why would you launch if you're not physically able to put out quality items. Don't you end up losing in the long run having to replace so many faulty devices? But I guess this is Apple so that's probably a dumb question to ask.

I agree with this. If they would have stuck with the regular 6 and held off on the plus I think everything would have been so much more smooth. Would be cool if they held another event a couple weeks later and started out with wait, there's more... Lol

oh ya, even tho they don't deliver on Sunday, they still ship and get everything ready for Monday delivery's...I bet you get it the same as us on Monday, if not tues. but mine came off backorder on Thursday at noon and i am getting on Monday....

Well they threw away half of the devices before even selling them. And the cost of an iphone for Apple to make is around $222.00 for a 6 and only $252 for a 6+. Think $849.00 on the street, that is bank. So they can afford to throw away a bunch...
I agree I am really enjoying my 6+ as well it is what I had imagined it would be indeed worth the wait and all. I even got a AT&T survey today so I answered honestly and since i said I was not totally pleased with shipping for preorders they let me explain why and i did. I told them about all our hassles and going thru early morning pre-orders and then waiting a week or multiple weeks after 19th for a bunch of you and that they and Apple need to get this worked out (bigger supplies, better servers to handle the loads ect) not sure i if will help but oh well
