Iphone 6+ Pre-Order Status 9/17 9:30am ET

My wife's 6 shipped this morning and tracking number assigned. My 6+, however, which was ordered at 3:10am ET from AT&T, was moved up a week to 10/2-10/13 delivery from 10/13-/22 delivery. Seems I will not be getting the 6+ by the weekend.

I would have been fine with waiting had that information been communicated by AT&T that the delivery for the 6+ would be delayed beyond the launch date. I have received my past preorders on the launch date for past 2 years. AT&T seems to have led me to believe that a pre-order would get me a phone on launch day 9/19. Instead, after I purchase, they tell me 14-21 day delivery.

Like so many others that have posted her, the follow up email from AT&T gave late October to early November delivery dates. On Sunday the dates changed to 10/13-10/22 and this morning to 10/2-10/13. I am not happy with what some may consider a Bait and Swich. Let them pre-order then wait 5-6 hours to send email confirmation with dates no where near the 9/19release date. This is poor customer service at the least.

Not that it is likely to accomplish anything, but I will send something like this post to AT&T and to my state's consumer affairs office. Maybe situations like this can be prevented in the future.

WE all have ACCURATE ship dates...
That's why the employees at AT&T are confused.. they don't know why people are calling about the shipping dates when they are clearly listed on their website for each order.

The only real issue I have is any announcement or communication from AT&T on a status. There has been nothing for their consumers. Likely because Apple is choking the bottleneck of phones to them and they have all these pre orders and fear losing revenue to other carriers and Apple directly.


I had mentioned this before. And ATT is STILL taking pre-orders for the 6 +, which boggles my mind.

They could have easily postponed the pre-orders of the 6 + perhaps a month later, and I would have been fine with that. Apparently all the other carriers are shipping 6 + units in time for launch date, albeit not most but some. If you're under ATT, you have better luck of spotting a leprechaun riding a unicorn than receiving your 6 + by Friday.

Unless a miracle update happens by tomorrow night, we won't be getting our phones anytime soon, as ATT would much rather keep taking pre-orders of a phone in extremely short supply rather than to lose that customer to a competitor. It's a shame but they're in the business of making money, and they're definitely milking the demand for the 6 + for all it's worth.

Nearly all of us are mostly stuck in the 10/13 - 10/22 dates, which is weird but whatever. I guess it's a safety net ATT is using.

I am pretty sure that the website infer has proven to be unreliable. I spoke to a premier rep yesterday and he said my orders were both completed and in the warehouse awaiting shipment. My dates on the web still say 10/2. I guess we won't really know till we get tracking numbers or phones show up Friday.

I think "preparing for shipment from the warehouse" really means the warehouse from China once are phones are done being assembled. lol.

Looks like more than 1 phone. The 6 is roughly a 1.2 pkg the 6+ is a roughly 1.3-1.4 pkg. so if you ordered one of each it's likely both.
 
To be honest, I'm not sure why people continue to frustrate themselves by calling in and waiting extended amounts of time to talk to a csr, or chatting with the online csr's. It seems obvious to me you will either get the canned response that it will be there on the 19th or the canned response that the dates are the dates. With those either you get an answer you like but you don't trust, or you are frustrated that the date isn't sooner. I would not expect to get any useful inside information that you can trust from csr's or online chat.

I myself am anxiously looking at my dates to see if they change with the hope that today or tomorrow I will get more concrete info on shipping-with the understanding the dates can't be 100% relied upon.

does anyone knows what happens of they try to charge your card again and the funds aren't there? I'm going down to chase today to get a replacement card because my previous one I used with att got stolen. Will they give me time to update the payment method? or will I go back down in the queue?

I would do everything you can to make sure that doesn't happen :p

I am currently in between jobs so doing all this makes me feel like I am working. Gotta love pre order time!
 
I personally think we're screwed.

I should have waited the 2 hours to just pre order from the Apple store like everyone else did who is getting their phone on launch day and we are going to be waiting 1-2 weeks later for it.

No big deal i guess, but I will never pre order another product from AT&T again after this. Biggest disaster ever.

But again, it's a phone.. lot of first world problems up in here lol

Went from 10/2-10/13 to no shipping date and just saying "Pending"

Maybe that means it's about to ship soon?

Are you new to the thread? You will have your phone on the 19th - relax.

Just checked it after posting that reply. Now showing pending shipment and showing FedEx as the carrier and shipping date as of 9/14/2014

My status just changed to shipped!

I ordered a 6 Plus Silver 64gb at 12:05 A.M on ATT.com.
My original ship estimate was 10/02/14 to 10/13/14
It just changed to shipped about a half hour ago!

Good luck to you guys. Hopefully the rest ship on or near release too!

I had a 10/2 date and my status just changed to shipped! no tracking yet but it's a step in the right direction lol I ordered at 2:55 on att site

Don't Lose Hope

My 6+ 128 GB Silver went from 10/02 -10/13 ship date to 'Shipped' see attached image. No tracking info on ATT page or MyUPS/FedEx

ok now it has tracking left Fort Worth last night at 8:11 delivery date says FRIDAY ! so there's hope for the rest of you.
 
That's definitely good news guys. Everyone keep posting your shipping confirmations if it has changed this way we can get a gauge on what's going on, also I'm assuming these were placed thru ATT and not Apple. I guess the leprechaun riding the unicorn is indeed somewhere out there!!
