My AT&T order is still "Preparing for Shipment".

Ordered a 6+ 128 GB Gold at 2:45 AM ET on 9/12. Received confirmation at 2:51 AM ET. Received the preparing for shipment text on 9/13. Card was charged 9/14. My shipping dates keep bouncing between 10/2-10/13 and 10/13-10/22.

Luckily I have a 6+ 128GB Silver that has already shipped from Verizon, but I would've preferred to have both phones on launch day. If I wanted to wait I would've just waited. And I'm kind of annoyed that AT&T is charging me for a product that I will not have in my hands for another 3-4 weeks.
 
This is weird. Yesterday my pre agh charges dropped off my card, then a few hours later my card was charged again and I thought I was in business. Today, charges gone.
 
I walked into an ATT store on Friday and ordered a 6+ 128 GB SG. Order went through at 1:19 p.m. EST and shows a ship date for 11/09–11/27. My shipment date has never moved up as some people have mentioned though the order status does show "Preparing to Ship" and has since the very beginning. My credit card had a hold placed on it since Friday, but checking this morning the funds have returned to my account.

The chat support folks claim they cannot look up specifics of my order since I placed it in the store, but the rep (Marie) told me that she does not think it will really take until November for the phone to ship. I take this with a grain of salt.

I am unable to look up my order specifics through the Premier site as others have mentioned. It does not seem to accept any order ID number I give it. Calling the phone number and checking says "backordered".

Simply sharing for those who may also have ordered in the store in the afternoon as I did.
 
So... I ordered 2 phones, 15 minutes apart. The SECOND one I ordered has an earlier ship date. Also, the "Time ordered" from the confirmation emails were almost 45 minutes AFTER I actually ordered, so I believe it's when AT&T processed the order, not when you hit the BUY button... Anyway, I think I've lost any and all hope of a launch day delivery. Here's my numbers...

Order 1:
Apple iPhone Plus, 128GB, Space Gray
Time Ordered: 2:30 AM Central time
Email Confirmation Order Time: 3:10 AM Central time
Original Shipping information: 14 to 21 days
Updated Shipping information: Preparing to Ship - 10/13 - 10/22

I'll say, I was the hater all along. This just proves that AT&T's system is sub par and clearly couldn't handle the demand. Unacceptable but pleased none the less.

Most of the reviews that I am reading state that iPhone 6 has better battery than iPhone 6 plus.. Example Cnet, NYTimes.. Not sure if it is actually true or they want more people to buy iPhone 6 as most of the people are going for iPhone 6 plus.. BTW my dates moved to 10/02..

I noticed this on one review and think they simply aren't comparing item to item. On an atomic level the phones have more power per use per item due to the battery size than the former so it's essentially impossible. Unless apple snuck one in and did overclock the cpu healthily to give the 6+ the same performance as the 6 for example :p

I wish a true tech review would pop up. Somewhere that gets us the true specs etc and does some gaming comparisons. Not so sure I like the rounded glass on the front either. Perhaps I'm just too used to this phone. To be honest, much of the design I'm not a super fan of. The space grey is almost silver, I like my phone darker. The stripes on the back? Ugh!

And the lady reviewer obviously has no idea what she's talking about. She insinuates the hardware is basically mediocre and the software is where it's at.

Really? Cause id run 7 and take the hardware long before the other way around. I don't think she realizes just because it has half the cores, half the ram, and almost half the clockspeed - in today's day and age doesn't mean squat. I'm a realist - I can't say that it kills the competition but it is faster, and with specs that the ignorant would simply write off, it's impressive to say the least.

In closing... I can't frigging wait!!!!

it looks like he pre-ordered from Apple and it so, then my optimism for receiving it on Friday is gonna go back down cause I used att and nothing has changed.

Still pending here for those same dates, 64GB 6+ gold. My order and confirmation were at 3:01am ET.

Pending charge dropped from my CC sometime early this morning.

Edit: Explains the delay we are seeing in our confirmation from AT&T.. They really don't know if they will get the units in time..

Nah the default system setting and the influx of orders showing erronous dates explains it as a few forward csrs have said.

Ironically the irs had a similar issue this year :(. We are becoming super reliant on our tech :p

Had a credit car problem (card canceled due to fraudulent activity) tried to put on a new card and rep just canceled the order and placed a new one. Was pretty angry. The date for the new one was November. Now its back to 10/2. So maybe I'll get lucky. And my local store told me they would hold one if I don't get it Friday. 6+ sg 64gb
 
does anyone knows what happens of they try to charge your card again and the funds aren't there? I'm going down to chase today to get a replacement card because my previous one I used with att got stolen. Will they give me time to update the payment method? or will I go back down in the queue?
 
I personally think we're screwed.

I should have waited the 2 hours to just pre order from the Apple store like everyone else did who is getting their phone on launch day and we are going to be waiting 1-2 weeks later for it.

No big deal i guess, but I will never pre order another product from AT&T again after this. Biggest disaster ever.

But again, it's a phone.. lot of first world problems up in here lol

The order I placed at 3:25 am est has been cancelled. The money has been placed back in my paypal account. In freaking furious. The AT&T site still says "pending shipment".

The hold was released/expired. That doesn't mean your order was "cancelled". Read up on holds.

They will charge again when it ships. Don't flip out, and especially don't flip out on a CSR.
 
I agree that this has been confusing and not communicated well but you think that it's madness because you ordered 2 & 1/2 hours later than everyone else? BTW 4:30 central is 5:30 Eastern. If I were you I'd be happy that I had an October ship date after ordering that late. I ordered at 3:05 Eastern and have ship dates of Oct. 2-13.

No I think it's madness because I ordered within hours of an item going on sale and I got a date that is months in the future. (Which I was right - as we all now know it was wrong)

I think it's madness because people that ordered before me have dates after me and people that ordered after me have dates before me.

I think it's madness that instead of my date going forward it started going backward.

Lastly I think it's madness their has been no communication from att and contradictory communication from it's csrs.

No idea where you got your perspective from. Then again you consider a few hours "late" and justifiable apparently.

That all being said, I'm sure I'll have it the 19th. It's not about that. At this point it's about how it's being handled, how it has been handled, and how their is next to NO rhyme or reason yet we have all been searching for some for days.

just talked to my coworker who ordered a 6+ 128 space grey. his ship date was always 10/13 - 10/22 and as of 6am this morning he jumped straight to shipped!!! saw it with my own eyes. im jealous lol

So he ordered a 6+ sometime during the business day on Friday and has a confirmed date of 9/19?

If true, that's pretty whack.

I assume it was through premiere? If u have a screenshot of that, I would call the csrs and when they try to feed you BS about correct dates, ask them to break that down for ya then :p
 
The only real issue I have is any announcement or communication from AT&T on a status. There has been nothing for their consumers. Likely because Apple is choking the bottleneck of phones to them and they have all these pre orders and fear losing revenue to other carriers and Apple directly.

So... Did an email come simultaneously or were u just checking your order status? Also is your card charged?
