Some one really needs to explain to me the point of preorder if you don't get your device on launch day.

Especially when they start having stock in stores. Shouldn't pre-orders be fulfilled first? Just a thought

I agree, at least in principle. I think one issue is that there are now so many stores and countries getting these phones, and they are available in so many different varieties (6/6 Plus, Space Gray/Silver/Gold, 16GB/64GB/128GB, Sprint/AT&T/Verizon/T-Mobile). When you add constrained supply to the mix, it makes things very complicated.
I've pretty much preordered all my phones on launch day with Apple and never had any issues until this time. I can't help but think that even Apple didn't fully expect this many orders.

Well, I will be giving them one more call this evening then I am done calling until after the 14th. Then, I will be raising holy hell for this.
"In Progress - Quantity Ordered (1) - Quantity Shipped (0) - Quantity Backordered (0)" But calling the 877# tells me otherwise. Been the same since day 1 (9/12)
Looks like they are slowly taken the fight out of us..... and keep collecting their money from 46 million customers.
Maybe half a million upset iPhone pre-orders.... they couldn't care less.
Every phone number and order status on Internet says something different. I know the 877 number only one that but counts but the 866 number made me feel good for a change.
I believe I am about to cancel my preorder. It looks like my two local-ish apple stores seem to be getting iphone 6 plus 128GB phones in at fairly regular intervals. I'm going to take the chance and cancel my pre-order so I'm upgrade eligible once the next shipment arrives.
We've been hearing about planes for two weeks and I'm not sure any more if it has ever meant anything. Who knows?
Apple store is the way to go
I pre-ordered a 6+ 128 GB SG on launch day through AT&T, around 11 PM, had a ship date of 11/9-11/27 until yesterday. Cancelled it, ordered through Apple, immediately got a ship date 2 weeks earlier but decided to try going to our Apple store in Austin and they had stock of silver and gold 128's in house. Shouldn't have preordered through Apple before going but we cancelled that last night and I'm going back in tonight to pick it up. And they can absolutely do the Next program in store and are happy to do so. Ditch the AT&T preorders if possible but you will have to troll the Apple website to see when your local stores have stock. Hope this helps.

when i talked to a rep he said ca and fl was 2 of the states that were hit hardest flooded with orders. i do believe this because i have been checking apple stores up to 4 hours away none in fl still but charleston sc seems to be getting them in regularly even the sg color. i will make a decision tomorrow evening for sure.

So I'm calling to cancel my order. I guess they must have ran out of Space Grey material. Apparently they have to send astronauts to the planet Zoombar to get the special source material to make the SG color for the 6+. The last shipment was hijacked by space pirates called the Talanackas and they haven't been able to send any back up to get anymore as all of the workers are scared to go after the hijacking. There's way too many gold and silver 6+ models available in my area to keep waiting for this SG one to come. Besides I've never had a white face iPhone so maybe it's time to switch it up!

I am a pilot and will be working until that day. And cause I am single, mom and dad will be staying at my home until then. They are retired and raid my liquor cabinet when I am gone anyway!
New conversation with a CSR. Stats 16GB Space Gray 6 Plus ordered about 20-30 min after pre-orders started. Shipping dates 10/2/14 - 10/13/14. Non premier.

Priscilla : What I would do is look locally for a device and have them reserve it, then call us to cancel the order so you do not risk loosing your reservation.
