AT&T Pre-order status

They charge once it goes "Preparing for Shipment" so almost everyone got charged WAY before they will actually get their phones if the dates are to be believed.
 
9/17 ship date

Mine says shipping 9/17. I ordered from AT&T at 3am, Premiere account, 16 gb Gold iPhone 6.

I think on one iPhone model, my UPS driver said that they had the phones locked in a cage on Wednesday for Friday delivery.

Order status, mine took about 5 hours to show the 11/09-11/27 dates.
 
I'm at "Preparing to Ship"
Ship Date: 9/17 - 9/18.

I snuck in the back way at about 1:45. I accidentally made three orders, so one of them was canceled. I only plan on upgrading two lines. I'm sure if its preparing to ship I won't have an address verification problem, right?

I don't know what to believe anymore.

Premier account here, too. Whatever that means.

Does anyone have a shipping date in September for a 6 plus directly from AT&T? Note-- talking 5.5" 6 plus here, not 4.7" 6.

Like many people here, I have an order confirmation for a 6plus at 3:01AM ET, literally one minute after release, and order status says 10/31 - 11/11.

Seems more likely they're just placeholder dates than shipments being delayed 6 weeks after literally one minute.

My confirmation email showed no dates, but I got a follow up saying my phone should be delivered 9/19.

It's an authorized hold that the merchant places to make sure you have the funds available. It'll drop in about 3-4 business days and you'll get charged again once it ships.
 
I placed 2 orders back to back because the site wouldn't let me buy both iPhones together

I got the emails for both orders giving me an estimated delivery date of 9/19 on each

I just checked the order status page on att.com and one is estimated ship 9/17-9/18 but the other one is 9/23-10/2 :mad:

Me too. First order completed at about 0345 and second order went through at 0400. Both emails say 9/19, but when I check order status, the first one still says shipping 9/17-9/18 while the second now says 9/23-10/02. Pretty disappointed, but at least it's only 5-10 days and not over a month like some people are seeing.
 
i canceled my at&t plus pre-order because i got a eta of Oct 31 - Nov 11

i can probably walk into a apple store before that a pick up a iphone plus.

I got my order in right when the AT&T site went live for pre-orders. Was about 2:45AM-ish ET. Ordered a 6+ 128GB in Gold. Said 11-14 Days for shipping, didnt notice this until it was too late. Got my confirmation email at 2:51 AM ET. My card was charged shortly after for the full amount at 3:13 AM. I have an estimated delivery of 10/2-10/13. This makes absolutely no sense to me as I have been charged, my order was one of the first ones in. This has to be a fluke in their inventory/order system.

In other news, the 6+ 128GB in Silver that I ordered through Verizon is all set for 9/19 delivery. That order was placed at the same time as the AT&T order.
 
Had my preorder done with AT&T before the preorders were even supposed to go live and my order status now gives me an expected ship date between November 9th and November 27th.

Any of you guys who ordered after me and complaining about your early October ship dates want to trade?
 
Anyone else get charged the wrong amount?

I got just the regular 16 GB one, which is $199.99. I live in Mass, so the tax should be only $12-$13 more (6% tax). Yet I got charged $240 and this is the actual charge, not a hold it seems like. The initial charge was for a buck and that went away for the $240.

And it cant be the upgrade fee because that's supposed to go on the first bill, not upfront. I talked to 3 different reps and they claim they cant do anything cuz they cant see the full order yet. All they said they can do is make record of this until later on.

64GB here, and my line items are iPhone 6 ($299.99) and Upgrade Fee ($40.00). Total $339.99. "Estimated Tax" shows TBD, so not applied yet.
 
After trying repeatedly last night to order from Apple I finally gave in and order from AT&T. I didn't get the confirmation e-mail until 4:11 AM CST but it said "Your Apple iPhone 6 (64GB Silver) has been reserved and is expected to arrive on or around 9/19/2014".

I was checking the status throughout the day and finally, this afternoon it says
"Preorder Processing
Expected Ship Date: 09/23/2014 To 10/02/2014"

This morning I had thought about cancelling the AT&T order and getting it from Apple because they still had stock but they would have been unable to ship it to my office and I probably won't be able to be home to sign for it Friday.

Strangely, on Apple's site it said that the amount due was $0.00 (I went with AT&T Next payments) but with AT&T I had to pay tax today, and it's already been charged to my card.

you are charged tax on the entire price of the phone which I believe is $649 for the model you got. The $199 price is really "$350 off when you sign a 2 year contract". You are charged tax on the unsubsidized price of the phone though. Hope this clears it up. And yes, it is a bit shady. I guess saying $350 off $649 doesn't sound as good.

Or it could just be the price of the phone + the upgrade fee = $240
 
AT&T just sent me a text. When I ordered early this morning it said 14-21 days. Now my confirmation for shipping says between 11/1 - 11/27 :mad:

WTF is this? This is my first time ordering from AT&T since Apple couldn't get their crap together and have their store up.

I still have a order in at the Apple store, but no shipping confirmation yet.

We'll see who ships first before I cancel either order. Heck, I bet I walk into an AT&T store on launch day and just pick on up.

It's been several years and neither Apple nor AT&T can get this right.
