Because next 12 is a 20 month contract. Your contract ends in May 2016. You can however uograde after making 12 payments, or pay off all 20 payments early to end the contract
It's good math... Sept 2014 + 20 months = May 2016.

Nope, not me. Ordered it on the 12th too. I just got off the phone with Premier and the agent just repeated the 10/12/2014 ship date to me.
I may head to the AT&T store next door and try my luck.
Mine too. Showed at local facility as of 6:22AM.
I have a feeling Fed Ex, like everyone else, is behind with their updates. Mine still has an expected delivery of today, by 8PM, so no doubt they're going to update their systems soon to "out for delivery".
Nope! I ordered a few minutes after launch.. +64GB SG... Kinda pisses me off, because now I see those people that went to the stores today and got their phones as "cutting in line" in front of the pre-orders... oh well...
Still 10/2-10/13...
Arrived at my local AT&T store this morning in NYC at 8:30am. Only 5 people ahead of me and my store had stock of all iPhone 6 models and sizes. I'll never pre-order from AT&T again. I guess because NYC has literally hundreds of AT&T stores around, supply should be plenty for any customer. The same goes for T-Mobile and Verizon.
iPhone 6+ SG 64gb ordered at 4:20am est.
ATT bumped up the shipping date a few times and currently at 10/2-10/13.
No dreaded email confirming it will ship in October and actually no email since confirmation.
Is there a chance I will be surprised today?

How did they cut? They played the odds and won. For every person who waited in line and got one think about how many people are getting turned away.

I personally had no illusions about getting my order today. I think 10/2-10/13 is probably a pretty accurate estimate. If enough people that don't get their phones today run out and get a phone on line today and cancel the pre-order or hold the 6+ in their hands and decide they want the smaller one then we other AT&T 6+ pre-orders might get moved up the cue a bit. Otherwise, it's wait and watch everyone preen about with their new phones. Have fun today everyone. I may check in later for the gnashing of teeth by those still in utter denial and believing the dates are a fantasy and their phones will somehow appear on their doorstep.
I'm just annoyed Apple's website was screwed for the first hour and I panicked and went through the AT&T portal again. Bad move, and NEVER AGAIN! It's Apple's fault though. They are the ones that screw the AT&T customers with the piddling inventory they allot to their huge customer base. And the 6+'s are just in high demand. What are you gonna do? They have to screw someone, and the carrier pre-order customers are prime targets every time. Apple lets AT&T take the blame while they sell phones in their stores and get great publicity with the lines.

Both UPS and FEDEX usually get to my house all before 11am. I will find out soon. I am somewhat hopeful but I really think AT&T screwed the pooch on this one. #attfail
Stopped by a few AT&T stores, best buy, radio shack and walmart. out of all of them they only had 3 iphone 6+ total and all taken. WOW!

Received confirmation immediately but shipping date by that point was 11/9/14-11/27/14.
Order page on AT&T states "preparing for shipment" and has the same dates. I'm not even remotely hoping for delivery today, but before Thanksgiving would be nice!

And of course about 10 minutes after I write this, tracking has updated to show that it's on a Fed EX vehicle for delivery!

Same here. My issue is, that can't be right. You can order this very second and that's the date you will get. So either ours is wrong, or they are quoting BS to people ordering now.
