I will be upgrading regardless because at the very least it is a free upgrade tk a brand new phone. What I would like to see

32 64 models
A5
1 gig ram (better for jailbreaking)
Bigger screen (longshot, I know, but a 4 inch iPhone makes me drool)

well my PHONE years ago with 256 kb ram worked just fine too but i still like the A4 chip of my iPhone 4. the iPhone can only benefit from the A5 chip, cannot wait ... my iphone 4 feels kinda luggish next to the latest samsung

Mine works fantastic. No lag at all. The difference between the A4 and A5 chips is the last thing I'm worried about in this phone. None of this really matters though bc I can't see it not having the A5.

I am going to do everything I can to resist this. I just ordered the 13" MBA, am still waiting for the first update of Lion before loading it on my iMac, so will have toys to look forward to. But I feel my steely resolve crumbling if the 5 has the A5 and more memory.

New customers are always screwed when it comes to iPhones. AT&T & Verizon don't have unlimited data. I mean unless Sprint gets the next gen iPhone.

The severely limited data plans are what scare me and may keep me from (finally) getting an iPhone.

I don't have WiFi access the majority of the time, so I'm constantly using 3G to stream videos and access the web on my semi-intelligent, but non smart phone. As it stands, I'm currently averaging 2.5Gigs a month, although I've topped 4.5G on more then one occasion.

Thankfully, I'm currently paying AT&T only $15 a month for unlimited internet.

The thing that really gets me, is that anytime I ask about upgrading to an iPhone (or any smart phone for that matter) and I question why I'd have to pay 2x as much for a limiting plan, they say that it's because smart phone users tend to use more internet then the non ones do....but when I explain that I already use far more then their 2G limit would allow, they change their story to how most iPhone users use LESS internet then others due to WiFi.

It just kills me knowing that if I were to upgrade my phone, it would cost $50-70 more a month then I'm paying now... for the same exact usage.

Faster download speeds will only fill their limits that much quicker.... at this point, I'm more tempted to jump to Sprint, get a Droid, and enjoy their unlimited access.

Gonna upgrade my IP4 for this regardless of what it is
Hoping for bigger screen for sure (while keeping battery life the same). I get jealous everytime I see my friends android phones with massive OLED screens

Hoping to see 64GB available and the A5 in the same form factor and style as the iPhone 4.

The big deal breaker for me is if it has a crappier camera. Rather have lower noise then higher resolution.

Well, you can always buy SIM-free, thx to Apple's new policy a month ago. Once you bring it home, stick in your $15 -plan SIM card, and your good to go. The $650 for SIM-free (minus $200 what you would pay to upgrade) = $450. You will make up that $450 in about half a year, it will pay for itself by the reduced $15 data plan.

And we all thought the speculation about release dates was finally over when the Macbook Air was released... Boy guess we were all wrong!

Here is what I would like to see:

No redesign of outside (except antennas):)
Phone on all 4 major carriers (unless AT&T buys T-Mobile)
A6 Quad-Core:eek:
4GB RAM:eek:
Up to 128GB flash storage:eek::D
5G LTE:eek:
Unlimited Data:D
1000 hour battery:D

I'm looking forward to the introduction more than the actual launch.

I wonder when is the event going to take place?

I'm not too excited about this to be honest.

The iPhone 4 pretty much maxed me out on the features/performance that I needed from a smartphone. As long as they don't cripple the new OTA sync or cloud features of IOS 5 in the iPhone 4 I'll be happy with my old one.

I'm sure Apple will find a way to change my mind before the launch though :D

I fully understand your lack of excitement, but it sounds like I am in the same boat as a number of people here, and that is; with AT&T locking you in for two years (with each new phone) I was prevented (without losing large amounts of money) for getting the 3G & 4G versions of the iPhone. I had a 2G, then a 3GS and will get a 5G, skip 6G and get a 7G, etc, etc,

Here's the bigger question, if it's due in September...when does Jobs step out on stage to present it?
The past couple of times, the iPhone was announced at the WWDC keynote address, then shipped ten or seventeen days later (on a Friday).

This time, who knows? Since Apple doesn't have the distraction of trying to launch new product when a bunch of their engineers are at WWDC, they could probably compress the timeframe between the announcement and the actual ship date.

I'm looking forward to the introduction more than the actual launch.

You'll have to wait for the media invites to go out, then we'll know (or at least have a good idea).

I'd be surprised to see Steve on stage before late August though.

Yes...

AT&T (voice) is terrible in the Southeast.

Sorry to hear that. What part of the SE are you in?

It's pretty much an accepted fact here in MR that the next iPhone won't be 4G. I'd be willing to bet when a 4G iPhone hits that unlimted data, that was grandfathered, will go away. I'm assuming AT&T will say "...that the unlimted data was for the 3G network and not 4G. You're welcome to stay on 3G but if you go to 4G you'll lose unlimited data." If I'm wrong, congrats to those that have it.

So don't pack your bags for the land of VZW just yet.

With all of the cr@p I've dealt with, with AT&T I'd rather have a iPhone 4 with Verizon than an iPhone, 5, 6 or 7 with AT&T. When I bought my iPhone 3GS with AT&T two years ago they said they would have 3G service in an area where I knew I might be moving, well they still don't have it. So my contract ends, I told them I'm leaving and then went to Verizon. Never will I go back to AT&T. Oh, and the 3G service is just one of many problems I've had with them.

4 inch screen minimum and LTE or its a no go for me... LTE has me spoiled with tethering :)

Screen is highly unlikely. Apple seems content with 3.5". LTE is all but impossible. Apple specifically said they didn't add it to Verizon phone both for delay concerns and the fact that they weren't willing to make the compromises it would demand. There are no new LTE chips on the market since then. Thus, there's simply no chance. Maybe we'll get LTE next year, but I wouldn't hold my breath for a bigger screen.
