Well from what you tell me I would recommend the $30 T-Mobile plan, As for coverage, all depends if T-Mobile has coverage in your area with their 1900MHz HSPA+, check my thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1356522/

Simple Mobile $40 plan is really ****** if you are a internet user and need decent amount of data...250MB goes by really fast.

Consider Net10 AT&T SIM with 1.5GB Data if T-Mobile doesn't have enough coverage in your area, its $45/month...first month might cost you a little more but after that start getting refills from eBay...best place to get them.

Summary:

#1: T-Mobile $30 Plan
#2: Net10 $45 ($50 w/out autopay) <- Try to get refills done from eBay sellers..

I am currently on Straight Talk and get my monthly refills from eBay every month ranging from $30-$38...

Is straight talk good ? I'm in Southern California. Los Angeles. How's the data speed for you? Honestly I barely use minutes data is big thing would be nice to get 4g someday also with these cheap plans.

may want to watch with straight talk seems they have some shady practices http://androidandme.com/2013/04/car...ata-but-fails-to-disclose-when-they-throttle/

Ya they are shady I could agree to that, I cant complain tho for now at least..Been back on Straight talk for the past 3 months and I use about 1-1.5GB data/month that too by spending all day on my iPhone...

I use it mostly:
- Social Apps (iMessage, Whastsapp)
- Emails (10-30/day with attachments)
- Web browsing
- Stream Music (Pandora, Tune-In Radio about 2-3hours/month)
- Google Maps (Voice Navigation about 5-10 Miles worth every couple of days due to recently relocating)
- Tether my iPhone 5 to my iPad and MBAir using 100-250MB/Month

Any Random Speed tests show between 2-10Mbps/month down and 1-3Mbps Up here in Chicago, IL

Go to http://unlockit.co.nz and select Create APN then select your provider. This will install a profile file on your iPhone to configure your data settings.

It's going to vary by area but here are the speeds I get on Tmobile in my neighborhood. No LTE here yet. They only have 7 markets live so far but the 4G HSPA+ is working pretty well. Just as fast as the LTE from my Verizon iPhone 5.

What markets are live? Anyway to check? In in SoCal

Nvm just found out, I was also curious with the tmobile 30$ unlimited data text and 100 mins . Can they change the plan and raise the price on you whenever since your month to month plan?

http://www.tmonews.com/2013/03/t-mobiles-lte-network-goes-live-with-seven-major-networks-highlights-lte-ready-devices/

There is some spotty LTE signal in other areas that they are working in but only those 7 have been announced as officially live.

A Telephone Support Apple employee told me that Chicago, IL LTE should be coming in the next 3-5 weeks:D

on side note, anyone using GoSmart Mobile? If so can you please share screen shots of speeds tests, Thanks. I want to compare GoSmart with T-Mobile Prepaid...since its directly owned by T-Mobile, I want to know if I can live with the $45 plan....much better than the $30 plan...as it gives Unlimited Talk along with Unlimited Text and 5GB Data....

Anyone in NY get LTE on GoSmart?
Edit:
what about trying one of T-Mobile's Prepaid APN on GoSmart? does that work by any chance?

Exciting news:

AT&T will be launching new Prepaid plans to compete with T-Mobile!
$50 = Unlimited Talk+ Text +2GB Data! (HSPA+21Mbps ONLY - No LTE)
$70 = Unlimited Talk+ Text +5GB Data! (HSPA+21Mbps ONLY - No LTE)

I will ditch my Straight Talk in a heart beat for that! Knowing the experience will be alot better than being on a MVNO.

I been leaning towards GoSmart Mobile lately but yesterday took some serious look at T-Mobile coverage and it just wouldn't cut it for me as I will be travelling between Chicago and Canada, the coverage along I94 is spoty with T-Mobile with most being EDGE, while AT&T offered 3G/4G the entire way on my last trip.

I have to ditch Straight Talk soon because of the network problems on the rise lately with my voice quality and service experiencing interruptions such random signal loss and dropped calls.

Will this be unthrottled HSPA/HSPA+ ?

So far these plans haven't been officially announced, but the leaked info says that they are being tested in a couple of markets this month with an official rollout in mid June.

I need Verizon coverage

I switched from AT&T to Simple Mobile about 8 months ago and have had no issues until yesterday. Suddenly, no coverage. 1/2 down the road I get coverage again. Tech support thinks I need to change the SIM card but it's obviously a coverage problem. Most folks around my this area have a lot better coverage with Verizon. So is there a carrier like Simple Mobile that uses the Verizon towers????? THANKS, my business depends on it.....

I'm late in seeing this but if you have an iPhone 4 I believe you can use it on PagePlus Cellular which is a Verizon MVNO and a highly regarded one. I'd go with them but you can only put non LTE phones on it right now. Hopefully that changes but for now I'm taking my VZW iPhone 5's to either AIO or GoPhone.

Noticed AT&T just launched AIO Wireless, have you been able to test it? how are the data speeds?

I'm on Straight Talk AT&T SIM and getting about 5-6Mbps down and 1-2mbps up...on AIO site it says that users will be limited to 4Mbps....which sounds like a joke but im surprised AT&T is limiting considering T-Mobile's GoSmart includes 5GB and un-throttled at great high speeds possibly 5-15Mbps...
