cant wait! definitely moving over to AT&T to get LTE! 2GB will be absolutely more than enough for me! not to mention places like calling mart always give great discounts on AT&T refills.
Is Great That This Info. Can Help.... Same here 2GB Ennough For Me, NO MAS Contracts No More!

not to mention no low MVNO speeds....with addition of LTE....it doesnt get better then that
Rigth I Rather Pay $10 or $15 More And No Have To Deal With MVNO Especially Knowing Visual Voicemail & MMS Going To Work Out Of The Box + Costomer Service With Face

Nice. I like this move from AT&T. So $60 gets 2GB of data with LTE access and unlimited talk plus text?
Yes You Are Correct 2GB of data with LTE access Unlimited talk plus text, Visual voicemail, MMS Out Of The Box Visual Voicemail is a big deal for me :D

So now that AT&T GoPhone plans are out, whose all switching over?

Ditching T-Mobile? Verizon? Sprint?

If anyone has switched over please report back as I would like to know if you can use Hotspot with it or not, I'll be using the plan starting July 12th as my Straight Talk plan will expire on the 12th.

Though this poll is just a sample of Macrumors users I find it interesting that Sprint has the lowest number of votes. It will be interesting to see who sells the most iPhones between them and T-Mobile when the 5S comes out. It would be totally embarrassing for Sprint if Tmo does.

Here on Verizon the iPhone seems to be gaining traction against other smartphones too. AT&T is always dominated by the iPhone since it had that exclusive period and most people don't like switching carriers unless they have to.

I can put my 100% money on T-Mobile taking the lead vs Sprint....its 3G/4G HSPA+ network is already far greater than Sprints...and with LTE Launch T-Mobile is sure to take the lead as Sprint is launching LTE On 2600MHz....worse than 1700AWS....bc higher MHz = Poor Building Penetration.

Not to mention SOO many iPhones are now able to access T-Mobile 1900MHz 4G HSPA+ Network and Most of the iPhone 5's being able to access 1700 AWS + LTE! Sprint is definitely left behind in that sense.

OP updated with more cleaner view, Now people really have options, pick and choose the plan that suites your needs thanks to soo many T-Mobile MVNO's and iPhone 5 being T-Mobile AWS compatible.

Will The R-Sim 7 work for Iphone 5 (Sprint) newest version 6.1.4

Hello
Will The R-Sim 7 work for IPhone 5 (Sprint) newest version 6.1.4
I want to convert my Iphone 5 from sprint to either At&T or Straight Talk. I purchased a GPP Sim, bc that is what I was told to buy, however this will only convert to T-Mobile or Simple Mobile, and I do not have (nor do I like that Tmobile and honestly I have never heard of Simple Mobile (?) )(LOL). So, here I am again researching a way to make this work.
I would really appreciate some HELP from anyone. I do not go onto this forum, my babies keep me very busy. So please contact me via email/phone reifay68@yahoo.com 570-396-4075. you can call or text. please I am begging for assistance.

1) not the best recommendation to put your phone number on a public forum

2) if the R-SIM works for T-Mobile it will work for AT&T...thats impossible for it to only work for 1 specific carrier, I'm thinking the seller just sells telling people that because ever since T-Mobile iPhone launch and 1900MHz network being stronger T-Mobile is like the new kid on the block so everyones trying to sell services for it....be it turbo sims to convert other users, sim cards, MVNO plans etc.

Sprint is actually launching LTE on 800/1900/2500 MHz.

If Sprint doesn't have LTE here when the 5S arrives, I'm not staying with them, it's kinda ridiculous now.

Noticed AT&T just launched AIO Wireless, have you been able to test it? how are the data speeds?

I'm on Straight Talk AT&T SIM and getting about 5-6Mbps down and 1-2mbps up...on AIO site it says that users will be limited to 4Mbps....which sounds like a joke but im surprised AT&T is limiting considering T-Mobile's GoSmart includes 5GB and un-throttled at great high speeds possibly 5-15Mbps...

No I haven't tried AIO but I just took my VZW iPhone 5's to AT&T's new $60 GoPhone plans. $60 UTnT and 2GB data per line. I can get refills online at $52 each so $104 month for UTnT and 2GB per line for two lines. All on AT&T LTE and HSPA+ network. I've been happy with it.

As an Android user Sprint's network is fantastic (where Network Vision has been completed) as an iPhone 5 user it leaves something to be desired network-wise.

There are several shortcomings of the iPhone 5 on the Sprint network to where I can see why it's not very popular. One big one is for some reason they still keep a PRL on it that prefers PCS and only uses SMR 800 as a last resort (it will even roam first). While Sprint Androids have PRL's that go either SMR 800 or PCS 1900 depending on which signal is stronger.

The LTE radio is either weak or the phone has a short/low threshold for staying connected to weak LTE signal. The iPhone 5 can't ever stay connected while in fringe LTE coverage area's, while for instance the GS3 can and will.

Now that I'm back on iOS It would be nice to be using AT&T's network again. I can't wait until Apple puts Tri-Band support in the iPhone for Sprint.

can you please share info about:

- LTE Speeds
- 4G Speeds
- Visual voicemail?
- MMS?
- Tethering?

My Verizon iPhone 5 cannot use AT&T's LTE network but people who have AT&T LTE capable phones are posting over in Howardforms and they are getting full LTE network speeds.

HSPA+ (4G) speeds are fairly good. I get 2-3Mbps in low signal areas and 9Mbps+ in high signal areas. The coverage is reliable and uses AT&T's full native network (no roaming).

Visual voicemail works 100% and is fully supported by AT&T. MMS again works perfect and is fully supported. Also there is no more manually setting the APN. It is all now handled just like post-paid phones so you no longer need to finagle APN settings to get data and MMS to work. It just worked after popping in the SIM.

Tethering is NOT included and from what I can tell that is the only downside of the new GoPhone plans.

A friend of mine sold me her old iPhone 3G (I believe it's a Verizon version since it lacks a sim card slot).
What does the OP mean when it said "- If you have a Factory Unlocked iPhone 3G/3GS/4/4S/5 then you are GOLDEN"
Does that mean if it's NOT factory unlocked, it can't be used on any other network?

Impossible for a iPhone 3G to be "Verizon" because the first iPhone to be carrier by any other carrier besides AT&T was the iPhone 4 and that too only the iPhone 4 Supported Verizon and Sprint.

iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS were Exclusive to AT&T ONLY

Thanks for info, Satnam! I figured out where the card slot is. Had an old Cingular card in it. So can I put a Net10 card in this phone or do I have to unlock it first?

depends on he N10 SIM u use, they provide a AT&T SIM and T-Mobile SIM, for T-Mobile you will need to get it unlocked and for AT&T you wont, however AT&T SIM = Limited Data to 1.5GB/month

T-Mobile = Unlimited

but T-Mobile HSPA+ 1900MHz depends if its available in your area.

I'm late in seeing this but if you have an iPhone 4 I believe you can use it on PagePlus Cellular which is a Verizon MVNO and a highly regarded one. I'd go with them but you can only put non LTE phones on it right now. Hopefully that changes but for now I'm taking my VZW iPhone 5's to either AIO or GoPhone.

dont know if you have a AT&T LTE Capable smartphone that you can use but can you post some speed tests of the 4G speeds? AIO site says they are limited to 4Mbps (since your iPhone 5 would only be able to use 4G HSPA+ which is in line for the 4Mbps limit)

cause today I read that AIO now offers LTE up to 8Mbps....wondering if the cap on speed is real.

----------

In other news AT&T's Cheap brand called AIO (owned and operated by AT&T) is now allowing LTE access, although It says on their site the following:

4G HSPA+ Limited to 4Mbps
4G LTE Limited to 8Mbps
3G HSPA Limited to approx 1.7Mbps

I wonder if the limitations are really in place though or they just there to let users know that that is the minimum of what they can expect...can anyone confirm?

it does offer:
- Unlimited Talk, Text + MMS
- Visual Voicemail
- 2GB Data
- LTE Access
$55

$10 International Add-on = Unlimited International Texting+Calling to ~35 Countries.

vs

AT&T GoPhone:
- Unlimited Talk + Text + International Text
- Unlimited MMS
- Visual Voicemail
- 2GB Data
- LTE Access (Speeds as high as 30Mbps)
$60

$10 International Add-on = Unlimited International Calling to many countries

For Average user who doesn't text internationally AIO is not a bad option as it saves you $5 vs AT&T and AT&T GoPhone option is better if u want faster speeds? IMO GoPhone is better deal

Surprisingly the results in this poll are pretty accurate. The iPhone still dominates AT&T smartphone sells, Verizon sells more iPhones than Sprint/T-Mobile but it's a lower overall percentage of their smartphone sales compared to AT&T. Then I've also read that the iPhone now makes up around 40% of all smartphones on T-Mobile.
