Yes, i am. It was the same as last year.

Ummm... Then I'd switch stores or enjoy your super slow line. I think what you might mean is 1 person per ATT sales person which was the case last year at the store I visited. Either way I'd say your statement is more misleading than his.

188 Apple Stores vs. ??? ATT Stores...

I read that the 188 Apple stores sold 21 iPhones per day vs. ATT stores of only 21 per week. Not sure how many ATT stores there are but it doesn't matter if those numbers are correct. If ATT stores get on average 100 iPhones, the Apple stores should have 7 times that or ~700 on hand daily for the 1st weekend. To sell out they would have to sell 50 an hour over the 14 hour day, @ ~15 min. per iphone, they would need at least 13 sales people checking people out. It could happen, but I've never seen more than ~6 sales people at the Lynwood, WA store with the hand held checkout devices. There are 19 ATT stores listed with iPhones vs 3 Apple stores in my area.

Keep in mind, if people HAVE TO go to an at&t store this round (which might happen) their sales will go up..

I know for a fact. You know how i know? I was 40th in line or so, and i didnt get in the store until 6:45. They told me i got the last iPhone in the store and not to say anything when i walked out of the store. There were about 100 people behind me.

That's ludacris...So at 8am, with any given number of sales people on the floor, they're only letting in one client at a time? I call BS...

No... that's ludicrous.

This, on the other hand, is Ludacris:

You realize not every Att store is going to have iphones right?

I went on AT&T's site and did the "store locator - Apple iPhone" to see what stores will be carrying the iPhone. I know not every AT&T store carries iPhones so I double checked on that.

The amount of Phone per store depends on how their sales did during the year. There are 3 AT&T stores where I live that are going to sell the iPhone. 2 of the 3 sold out the first hour and the last sold out 3 hours later last year. The store that had the highest sales of iPhones in the past year said that are getting around 300 to 500 phones. But they are not really sure about this. The only thing that they do know the iPhone won't be delivered until around midnight Friday. So no store really knows how many they are getting. Only Corporate know how many each store will get.

Obviously it will be more than 1 in the store at a time. If you read many of nichspohn's post (and I hope you haven't) you'll realize he knows more than everyone here.

So if you were 40th in line and the store didn't open till 6pm and you got in at 645pm they processed roughly 1 per minute? That is impressive... or you don't know what you're talking about. Guess which one I'm going with?

Yeah I have to agree with you. Everytime I see a post from nick, he always is talking crap. I am sick of it. He thinks hes smarter than everyone in the website. Get over yourself.

Only 1 person is allowed in the store at a time.

This is how Apple is handling it. From an interview with Apple retail Chief, Ron Johnson...

Apple Specialists should be able to activate customer accounts with AT&T within 15 minutes. "Our expectation is that in 10 to 15 minutes, you'll be set up and ready to go," Johnson said.

Each of Apple's 185 US-based retail stores aim to handle about 100 customers an hour.

Apple Specialists will take 30 customers at a time from the line, bring them inside the store, activate their iPhones, then repeat.

Can you read your own quote? It says they will take 30 at a time.

That's what I was wondering as well. But then I reread his quote and I think he is saying "This is how it will go:"........ He is not agreeing with the quote he quoted. I was confused too.

Yeah, sorry of the post was confusing. The point was simply to say that in this question of "processing speed" there was at least some "hard evidence" as to how Apple would handle things at their stores. Easy there! lol
