I went through Apple website. It said to select NO on the trade in if I am planning on doing the ATT trade in which I am.
I got through the whole process but it never mentions the $800 trade in.

Did I do something wrong?

Same with me. It never re-directed me to ATTs website. Looks like we will have to contact ATT I guess.

Apple Store pre-order. Same here. I'm sure we will get an additional email from AT&T on completing the trade in details once the phone is activated. I was also told we can trade in the eligible devices in person at a cooperate AT&T store.

So I was trying to do the purchases in the apple store app, apple website, and AT&T website and see the differences.

AT&T website was showing upgrade fee waived with my FAN + accurate pricing including $800 promo bill credits but had a delayed shipping date.

Apple store app was super glitchy (the worst I've ever experienced on a launch day) but eventually allowed me to purchase for launch day, but showed the upgrade fee being charged, and didn't show much of anything about the trade-in promo outside the initial page.

Hopefully they're smart and send emails post-purchase to clarify things.

Are you guys able to see your order on Apple site or getting an error ?
Probalby traffic related
It is telling me that my order cannot be displayed right now and to check back in a few hours. But I did receive my order confirmation email, so I wouldn't worry about it.

gotcha

I wanna do in store pickup or change my address.Guess I can always do it later today

looks like dates have slipped for the pacific blue 12 pro already

I ordered through Apple store app and the checkout process was horrendous. Used Apple Pay to settle the state tax cost but a message popped up that it was unable to process. But at the very same time, an email confirming the order was in process arrived so it looks like it did go through. My biggest concern now is that the email confirm does not mention anything about the trade in credit.

I had a pretty rough experience too but got it 15 minutes after going live

I wouldon’t worry about the email not saying anything about the deal. That’s between us and att not Apple

I went to trade in.att.com after purchase, all the info is there. You fill out the form their, apply the TRADEINOFFER20 promo and that is it. Thats all that was needed.

If I want to trade in at the Att corporate store do I need to fill out the info at tradein.att.com first? Or just go to the store?

I have the same question, but it appears you can just go to the store. Even if you fill out the form, they still say "Or... you can still go to a store" basically, which seems to bring up the same generic store locator screen.

I heard you can tell which locations are corporate stores as those are the only ones that will let you schedule an appointment.

Changed my shipping address with support wooo

should take effect. Man that was nerve wrecking but glad to get my order in with next Friday delivery date :)

This deal is making me think of porting over from TMO. $800 per device where TMO will only give me $415 per device. I am two months short of TMO's 5 year mark to get an extra $200 and they are refusing to budge on that. Fools.

I am on a grandfathered plan with TMO, I pay about $100 for two iPhone lines unlimited data (Select Choice). I think ATT will be more per month, although I have access to a FAN that gives me 8% off. I wish there were better options out there with ATT that can offset the price of the plan which would make this a no-brainer.

I ended up just ordering when I normally wake up at 8am. I ordered the pro 128gb silver with faster delivery for $8. It estimates it’ll be here Oct 28-30. I’m fine with that.

I need some advice here. Preorder iPhone 12 Pro / trade iPhone 8 to take advantage of the AT&T bill credits promo. The home button is broken. Other than that, the phone is fine. She is using the virtual home button to get by.

I am getting conflicting info or the cost to replace home button:

· Apple iPhone Repair and Service: Do you need a repair for other issues like the Home button or liquid damage? This falls under Other iPhone repairs, Other damage (out of warranty) $349

· Best Buy Geek Squad - Authorized Apple Service Provider: I called my local Best Buy. They said it would cost $149 to replace screen/home button.

Can anyone confirm the cost to replace home button?

Trade-in scenarios:

· AT&T trade in value $100 when answering yes to all four questions – $800 bill credits

· AT&T trade in value $50 when answering no to: Is the screen functioning correctly and intact, free of any chips, bruised/dead pixels or burn-in? - $350 bill credits

If the repair is $349, it should be worthwhile to pay for the repair...? $149 is a no brainer. Or just take a chance and send in the trade in and see what happens?

Thoughts?

Yep - but it is $800 worth of bill credits over 30 months. $26.67 per month off each line as long as you keep the installment plan on there. If, for example, you decide you want a new iPhone in 24 months, you would forfeit 6 months * $26.67 of credits.

How does this work if the installment plan is only 24 months? If you want a new iPhone in 24 months, your installment plan would technically be finished in 24 months. Shouldn't you still be eligible for the last 6 months of credits if you upgrade in 24 months with a PAID OFF installment plan? Does ATT expect you to go two years on this iphone, installment plan completed in 24 months and they want you to still keep the phone and not upgrade for an additional six months to get those last six months of credits?

I was trying to compare what would be better, Apple Trade-In for an iPhone 11 or the ATT $800 credit for 30months. Here are my assumptions:

1. Trading in a paid off iPhone 11
2. I do not plan on keeping new phone for more than 1, we usually upgrade every year.

The Apple Trade-in is $350 off purchase if I trade in the iPhone 11
if I go through ATT, It looks like I get 26.66/mo off. So essentially over 12months it's $320.

The question is, If I decide to buy iPhone 13 next Oct, will I continue getting $26.66 credit or will I loose my ATT monthly credit? If so than from the surface the option to trade with Apple would be a better deal?

It seems for yearly upgraders the ATT $800 promo is not exactly the best deal?

What am I missing?

UPDATE: -
Another question, If I get the ATT $800 promo, than next year when iPhone 13 comes out, could I use the Apple trade in program even though I'm still financing it via ATT for 18 more months? if so this might work since I won't be able to get into another contract with ATT for another 30months.
Agree. If you trade in an 8, it would be a better deal for say. Also, can’t trade in device until paid 50%. Could pay off but credits stop. Not sure what they do if activate new phone from other source like AUP next year. Would they let continue make payments but that phone would be locked so couldn’t trade or sell.

The deal is only available on installment plans of 30 months, so your scenario of 24 months wouldn't work.

If you're like me and want to get a new phone in 24 months, even if you are on a 30 month plan, you can just pay off the remaining 6 months at that point in time an forfeit 6 months worth of credits. It's still a great deal even if you get $640 in credits and not $800.

You can upgrade after paying 50% of device. Would be about 15 months. Would only get the 15 credits.

Welp, I got the phone I wanted and upgraded my parents' phones as well, all scheduled for 10/23 delivery, but AT&T forces you to ship to the address on the AT&T account. I live in Connecticut and my parents, who hold the account, live in Florida, so I guess I won't be getting it on Friday. 😔

you should be able to change it if you got it from Apple. But if you got all three phones in same order, for your parents also, might be wise to not change it for their sake ;)
