it's listed as an 'AT&T Company Store'. Perhaps i'll try my luck at another store.

just called another store to inquire. The guy claimed that the offer is only available to those who start a new line of service and also have DirecTV. I insisted that the offer was for existing customers as well, but he fired back with, "Well this is what i know!"

I guess i'll just try my luck with the shipping process.

Wow! That is a different promotion. You need to start talking to managers as to why their reps do not even know what promotions they are offering and it is right on the ATT.com website. UGH!

I got my iPhone 6 Plus with AT&T next in 2014. Preordered an iphone 7+ for myself with the IUP and got it on release day. On Saturday I went to the AT&T store in the mall to activate the 6 for my son but ended up paying off the AT&T next installment plan and trading in the 6+ for a 7 for my son. Only had to pay the taxes.

What happens if i pay my phone off early so i can get the 8 when it comes out? Do i continue to get the credits for the remaining part despite me paying it off

No. You will only get the credits up until you pay it off. Then it is voided. To get the full credits, you must stay on the plan for 24-30mo's, which ever Next you chose. If you pay it off in a year on the Next Yearly plan to buy the 8, you will only have received $325 worth of credits. So, it's like you traded in your 6 for $325 if you got that route.

Can someone confirm if this matches the email you got from AT&T after filling out the forms?

My Trade-in
  • Trade-in date: September 18, 2016
  • Invoice #:
  • Item #:
  • Credit type: AT&T Promotion Card
  • Credit amount: $0.00

Yes it will say 0.00 when you process that trade in. Once you send in your phone you will get the $650 credit. The credit will take effect after the first 3 months of regular payments. I had this confirmed by two CSR Supervisors. If your worried about sending it in than take it to a corporate store.

No you can be an existing customer, as long as your current device is paid off:
"new and existing AT&T customers can get up to $650 in monthly bill credits when they trade-in an eligible iPhone."

You have to make sure to enter the PROMO CODE FALL2016TRADE. THE COST OF THE TRADE IN WILL BE $0. IT HAS TO SAY $0. IF IT DOESN'T THE YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG AND IT WONT WORK BUT YOU WILL GET $650 AS LONG AS THE PHONE IS IN WORKING CONDITION FOR ANY IPHONE 6 AND IPHONE 6 S

So i tried another store with sucess! The only thing that matters is the iPhone 7 has to have been purchased using Next, does not matter if it was bought at an Apple Store! Any AT&T Store that claims otherwise is simply misinformed (maybe incompetent).

If you cancel the line in Nov, 2016, you will get $0.00.

Well, this is pretty simple. If you think there's any realistic chance of cancelling your line in the near future, particularly in November, you're a freaking moron to sign up for the promo.

Stupid hurts.

I went to my local store tonight to deliver my trade in phone. At first the rep told me him manager said I had to return the phone in the box that came with the phone (which I did not have since I purchased from Apple). I then asked if he would just try the trade in with the promo code and success, phone traded in with the amount of zero.

Seems like your best bet, you definitely got 2 for 2 on untrained employees.

Does the phone have to be in perfect condition? Sadly I dropped mine like a week before sept 16th. Got a couple scuffs on the corner bezel. Everything else is fine.

The one i traded in had some nasty, deep scratches on the bottom and they didn't mind. The AT&T rep just gave it quick once-over and made sure it was functional.

So after some back and forth I think I am not going to do this promo for the sake that I was planning on paying off my wife's new 7 Plus phone that is on next within the year. I have a buyer for my Verizon unlocked 6 Plus 128 for $500 right now cash. If I pay off the next plan after 11 months to have this line eligible for the 7s or 8 then I end up with only about $300. In other words, if you plan on upgrading when the next iphone is released this promo is a bad idea vs selling outright.

In some cases yes, particularly if you have a higher value 6 version such as a 128GB plus. The promo definitely favors owners of base iphone6 models. Especially if they won't upgrade next year or if they have someone they can hand-me-down the phone to on their plan and keep the Next payments / credits flowing for the full 24 months.

For those who have shipped in their phones after completing the trade-in process online and agreeing to $0 trade in value with the promotion code:

Has anyone gone back to AT&T's trade in site to check the status of your trade in?

Up until today mine has said "Device not received" and showed a trade in value of $0.00. Today it changed to "Device Processed" and the trade in value updated to $170!

I want to think this is just their stupid trade in system defaulting to the regular value for my iPhone 6 64GB since their system obviously isn't truly set up to handle the $650 promotion.

I'm about ready to march into a store or call them up, but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced the same thing! Thanks!

You should be fine. I turned mine in at a corporate store and a mint iPhone 6Plus 64gb showed a value of $190 and a trade in credit of $0.00. According the to CSR at the time, it is the only way their system has to record it for the fall promo.

Yep, same here.

Sure I imagine there will be some individual screw ups, but generally it should work out fine.

My online trade-in is showing the same exact thing. I hope everything works out fine. I'm not looking forward to calling at&t and asking when my bill credits start and they're like "oh what free iPhone 7 promo? i never heard of that, thats too good to be true, heres ur $170 take it or leave it"

I'm sure myself or others will be glad to provide our saved screen shots of the promo details if such an event were to occur.

Just did my trade in at the AT&T corporate store so I could get a receipt in hand. The guy helping me had done this already quite a bit so he was familiar with the process.

The only difference was that he couldn't enter in the "FALL2016TRADE" promo code since that code was no longer a valid option, but instead the system already recognizes the $650 credit trade-in promo as long as your iPhone 7/7+ was purchased before 9/26, and that you traded in a valid iPhone 6/6S.

He recorded both the iPhone 6 IMEI and the new iPhone 7 Plus IMEI and the number it was associated to. Then I received the same AT&T receipt as what's pictured above, only with the different promo code for the same $650 credit.
