I read your post and had to agree that even though AT&T is making a lot of adjustments to accounts individually, there's a lot of inconsistency. I noticed in a post above, @fleabite said he was also getting unlimited text messages included. A few months ago they lowered the charge from $20 to $10, which I was happy with, but of course free would be better. Well, low and behold, I just looked at my account online and I'm getting text messaging for free. It is now included in my National 450 plan. As a result, I'm now paying $70/month for unlimited data, text and voice, plus tax, phone insurance, and my AT&T Next plan. Last month it was $80. Confusing but looks good.
can you provide a screenshot of your att stuff?
Not number and name, mark that out. But like how I did earlier showing my

Text 10
Data 30
Talk 30

I'd like to see how unlimited text free looks.

My talk plan is $39.99 where yours says $29.99, and there is now no line item charge for texts now. Under my usage, talk, data, and text all say unlimited.

Did the change happen at the beginning of your billing cycle or just a random time?

I'm jelly. >:|
Why, it looks like we are both paying $70/mo. They just get to the same amount differently.

I got a text a few days after I pre-ordered my iPhone 6s and before my billing cycle reset. It said my Nation 450 plan was being upgraded to unlimited talk minutes. Then for several days my usage and plan description was unavailable online when I checked. Now it says I have unlimited minutes and unlimited text and the previous monthly charge of $10 for text messages is no longer there. Now I'm just paying $39.99 for the talk plan and $30 for my grandfathered unlimited data plan.

It's still not ideal, I'd like to have tethering.

Att... Just met and exceeded.. another time.

They told me last week they will send me a free microcell, today they told me that my address is not listed in usps data base (small town of 200) so they cannot mail me one. They told me to go pick it up, they have it on sale for 150 then a 75 dollar rebate back in store. She gave me $200 dollar credit to my account. So now, I have to go buy the microcell for 150 on my creditcard, and I get 75 bucks back!! so They just gave me.. a free microcell+ 125 bucks!

YES

Mine now says the same thing after I called to get my texting costs lowered. I'm now worried that they'll eventually slip a charge back in, because $69 for unlimited everything seems too good to be true.

I think AT&T knows that many of its customers who are on unlimited are only sticking with AT&T because of that. If I have to give it up, I'd definitely explore Verizon or T-mobile

Well said.
Im only sticking with them for the unlimited data plans, subsidies and fan discount.
If they raise the data plan or stop the subsidies then its no point for me to stay.
Tmobile is ready to take my money and business.

AT&T also can't screw with UDPs until they eliminate 2y contracts -- otherwise they risk losing everyone who they just subsidized to purchase a brand new iPhone.

You think exactly the same I do. BTW T-mo has LTE 12 in Hamilton, MA area. I drove there yesterday. LTE 12 is coming.

Yes, I heard from friends that switched to the $30 unlimited calls, texts and 10GB per line. They have no probs with Tmobile service and LTE in the MA area is solid.
We'll see how it goes I guess.
Competition is great:)

I used to pay $80 for 450 mins ($40), unlimited data ($30), and unlimited text ($10). After reading this thread, I checked my account and I now have unlimited calling for $40, unlimited data for $30, and they removed my $10 charge for text but I still have unlimited text. I presume this is included in the unlimited call.

Wow, all this for just $70 a month. I don't even care now if AT&T increases unlimited data to $50 like Verizon. It is still a steal for $90 a month. And if you're wondering why I'd still be ecstatic paying $10 more than I used to (at $90), it's because even I realize that the unlimited data at 2009 pricing ($30) is a really lucky thing.

Did you get a text from At&t too about your account changes? If you don't mind me asking too, how long have you been with At&t?

No text, I just checked my account online after reading this thread. I have been with AT&T since the iPhone 3G days and have not changed my plan since. Also never had problems with each new iPhone that I got with 2 year contracts.

If you don't mind me asking.... what do you get when you dial *646# for minutes and *3282# Data?

She seemed annoyed and said well there's really not much she can do. But then I persisted on other messaging plans as I recall there was a $5 200 message option in the past. She put me on hold and surprisingly came back and said she can give me unlimited for $10/month and give me a $25 credit for being a loyal customer since 2008.

So now $80 per month for unlimited data and messaging then a 20% fan discount. My bill should be about 70 all in for unlimited data! I don't think it's worth it to switch to any type of mobile share plan ever!! So glad I stuck with UDP bc if she offered me the 6gb plan at $72 per month when the UDP cap was 5gb I probably would have taken it and lost unlimited forever.

If it's the same plan I got last year from retentions, that $10 messaging plan also includes unlimited minutes to any domestic wireless number.

So you didn't have to ask them to do that? They just changed your account from a Nation 450 to unlimited? I've been with AT&T for about 10 years now on the Nation 450 w/Unlimited Data. I changed my messaging to unlimited last year (the legacy $10 plan through retentions) but otherwise have made no plan changes. While I still have a bunch of rollover minutes getting unlimited (or even 900) would be nice.

Has anyone received unlimited talk and messaging with the 200 Senior plan?
You don't get it under 450
I talked to a lady on phone and I asked what and how people are getting

1. Text charges removed
2. Unlimited minutes

She said it started back in June where the system picked people on older plans and also using non smart phones for most part. iPhones etc according to her and the promotion she was reading the stipulations for was basically for the dumber phones that aren't sending thousands of text etc.

She was apart of advanced technical support, was on phone because my microcell won't recognize my address and such. Very informative and the way she read off the criteria a and how it was done made sense.

Now I'm sure some people have iPhones since this is macrumoues and such and have gotten it. That's what she told me the system goes through and picks
