AT&T Webpage Leaks Black iPhone?

Well I think it wil be released in the next 15 days sometime. I really don't think it will be released at WWDC after what I've been hearing here. For all we know the AT&T vacation thing is just for USA. For Europe and other countries we might be in front of the queue getting it before USA people. Here's hoping UK is at front of the queue

Ass covering by ATT...it WAS a place holder, but not for current iPhone models. why would they need place holders for models that the only distinction is the memory capacity? and if they did, why would they show up in a selection field on a page that has nothing to do with the memory? An iPhone is an iPhone regardless of the size, so it'd have to be distinctly different to warrant a placeholder

To me the iphone black is obviously the name of the new iPhone, there is too much evidence to convince me otherwise.

i'm thinking that black is code for "the pirate edition" .. maybe it's a 3G capable unlocked version to deal with all the t-mobile pirates that are currently making deals on unlocked phones ..

on a side note - it's interesting that the iphone s/w has native capabilities for italian, but there's no italian iphone .. (i guess the same applies for canada as well)

Yeah, the logical way to distinguish phones that are the same colour but have different memory capacities is to call one of them 'black'.

We've just received an official statement from AT&T regarding the presence of an "iPhone Black" on its model selector earlier today: "The reference to 'iPhone Black' was simply a temporary placeholder used over the weekend for a scheduled catalog update. It was meant to temporarily distinguish the various iPhone models-4GB, 8GB and 16GB-but was never reassigned. We're changing the site now." Makes total sense, right? Three models of iPhone, two placeholders: iPhone and iPhone Black. You know, because "Black" has so much to do with memory capacity, and is easier to remember than 4, 8, or 16GB.

Also, AT&T, we know those cigarettes are yours, so you can stop telling us you were "just carrying them for a friend." We're not stupid, you know.

I've just watched a news bulletin on BBC about the earchquate in China and there was a businessman walking past the camera with a white phone to his ear with a black apple logo on the back. It looked identicle to the pictures of the white plastic iphone seen on some web pages. Could the new iphone have been copied already!

Its more likely that the pictures on the net are of a Chinese knock-off.

Nice... now somebody will find this incident as planned by apple to gain extra 'stealth advertising' ground.

Funny thing about it it says 'UNLOCKED' at the bottom of the page

Engadget.com is now sating O2 has original iPhone back in stock.

I'm studying at the moment and there is a foreign guy in my class who has stuck a white apple sticker on his Nokia N95 or whatever it is. Some people will go to any lengths...

I never thought... I could have taken his picture from a distance and posted it as the new upcoming iPhone for phun.

Anyway, I'm thinking that something could be in the pipeline for tomorrow... There will be an announcement of some sort from Apple tomorrow. I can feel it in my water!
