On Sprint? Yeah right. They don't have the spectrum for that. I believe they are only 2x5mhz for their entire LTE footprint.

Max is 37 mbps on Sprint with their 2x5 mhz. But we all know about Sprint. Overpromise and under-deliver. I doubt Valerie is averaging 25 mbps on a spotty Sprint 4G LTE network.

It's sad when AT&T LTE is slower than their HSPA+. My cousin who has AT&T did a speed test in Bossier City, Louisiana on both networks. LTE-9 down; HSPA+-13 down. Similar latency.

when did BC get LTE? I am in Shreveport, I have not seen LTE:confused:

Sprint is running 5x5 actually, the theoretical max is about 37Mbps. People fail to realize that upgraded Sprint towers are LTE-A ready they only need a software update to enable it, speed is hardly an issue.

They neither have the spectrum nor the backhaul at each tower to upgrade to LTE-A with "only a software update." Not to mention, zero devices support it currently.

Maybe they need to work on actually getting on schedule with their LTE deployment before worrying about the next step.

People realize that they have deployed Rel. 10 equipment. The Sprint fanclub fails to realize that Sprint is over-promising and under-delivering. EVDO is still a nightmare and LTE is still spotty everywhere. They blame the contractors, which is interesting because TMobile, AT&T, and VZW have had no issues with the same contractors.

It's even more ironic that TMobile has announced they will have ~116 LTE markets up soon. They only started in 2013. Sprint started Fall 2012 and is running months behind in almost all of their markets.

I still stand by my statement that VZW and AT&T will have LTE-A up by year-end in more markets than Sprint will have LTE up. TMobile is not far behind in top metros either.

I'm thinking the big issue with Sprint is the spectrum. Less spectrum makes for a worse network, I've learned that in my home country (Where LTE only exists on indoor testing), where there's 3 carriers, 1 of them has the most spectrum, and they get around 5mbps, the 2nd has less, and gets 4 or 3, and the 3rd one has barely any spectrum and they never pass 1mbps.

The last one also likes to drop calls on 3G, I don't think they should even be running a 3G network like that.

Not if its properly maintained. Verizon just cares about putting LTE everywhere. While that's great, they also have to maintain it also. If AT&T's 4G LTE network does get congested, the user can simply turn LTE off and use the H+ network. With speeds from 5-10mbps who needs LTE killing the battery?

LTE doesn't kill battery life anymore. Hasn't in ages.

That being said, VZW's network has slowed down, but they are months away from activating their AWS spectrum in top metro markets first. They have enough spectrum for 2x20, which will have a theoretical top speed of ~146mbps down. Should see it first in markets, like LA, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, NYC, etc

Verizon- was great when started but has overloaded network, it will ease up when they release AWS LTE. Verizon has great LTE coverage and their price reflects that.

Atnt- great speeds as of right now but will also get overloaded in about a year or so. Pretty good LTE coverage and hspa coverage is also good, prices are just a tiny bit less than verizon.

Sprint- very behind as far as their equipment, they might be able to improve in the future ounce they free up thier spectrum. Good 3g coverage and call quility but very ancient equipment and spotty lte.

T-mobile- has bad coverage but great network in big cities, they just announced 116 metro areas with LTE and i live in one of them(seattle). I tested their LTE network today in seattle and got an average of 30mbps down and 15 upload and the ping was almost always 23-26ms which is great. I think T-mobile is great for people that live in or near big cities, they also annoucned the JUMP cub which lets you upgrade twice every 12 months which is great.

Here's my contribution.

Milwuakee Wisconsin on June 4th 2013, AT&T LTE. Speeds were consistent in this speed range.

AT&T does have a pretty good network. The overall fastest one of the Big 4. Also it's great that they're GSM so when you're not on LTE you don't drop back to abysmal 3G speeds like the CDMA carriers do. I just can't go with them due to the lack of any good data plans so I went T-Mobile instead. It works great where I live and travel and I don't spend enough time in rural areas for the cost difference with AT&T/Verizon to be worth it either.

AT&T, what an amazing 4G, 4G LTE network!

So i had some trouble with the iphone 5 a couple months ago. Anyway, picked another one up last week and I really got to experience AT&T's data network. WOW, I am totally blown away. I was in Miami over the weekend and I was getting around 40mbps down on SpeedTest.net. It was very consistent, and I never once saw "4G" which I learned is fake 4G.

So today I am in Houston for business and my speedtest just topped out at like 62mbps. WOW. The lowest I am getting is around 40mbps. My buddy who is on Verizon was not getting anything past 10mbps on LTE. His pings where also a lot higher than mine. Call quality seemed a lot better with AT&T too.

Of course none of this means squat with my 5GB plan, but boy I don't think another network can deliver speeds like that. Very, very satisfied AT&T user.

They also dominiate Chicago and its suburbs too.

Check out my speedtests...

What's your carrier firmware? AT&T 14.5? I downloaded a soft release firmware and its improved my speeds. AT&T 14.6

You're right. Most people I know with Sprint who actually see LTE usually get speeds ranging from 10-15mbps down with occasional highs in the low 20s.

Sprint is truly pathetic. I just read today that T-Mobile has already caught or possibly even surpassed them in LTE coverage. T-Mobile? Not to mention just about all of the markets T-Mobile announced are major cities whereas Sprint announced a lot of small cities in order to up their LTE markets count.

It makes no sense for them to be taking so long to do everything. How can the other 3 carriers roll out LTE at a decent pace while Sprint lags along?

The person claiming 25mbps down on average must be living right next to a Sprint tower. Even then I'll bet he/she still has to walk outside their house just to get that LTE signal since Sprint is so bad inside buildings.

I'm close to all of my local towers so my speeds are fantastic, and speed is not everything I would gladly take 10Mbps with a low ping then 30Mbps with a high ping. And who cares about LTE at home? That's what WiFi is for. I'm sitting at work right now on LTE, in strong signal areas LTE penetrates just fine.

SPRINT SUCKS!!! Take your Sprint love to another thread. You will not convince any of us they are in a good position. Not to mention they ultimately screwed themselves with their CDMA technology. Have fun in many of the locations they only have 3G. When I'm not in an LTE area I can pull 12 down. That's something Sprint can't even do on LTE. I FIND THAT HILARIOUS!

Yes, sprint is crap, but you're being a tad dramatic. What's wrong with CDMA tech? VZW is doing just fine.

I can quite easily pull 12Mbps down on LTE, get off your high horse.

I'm surprised you haven't posted up a speedtest screenshot of your Sprint consistent over 25Mbps LTE results...

I doubt you even pull 12 down. Everyone is laughing at you for bragging about Sprint's pathetic data network. You'd be a lot better off on T-Mobile.

If you pull 12 down, consider yourself one of the very few who get usable speeds on Sprint.

Those of us on AT&T, T-Mobile and even Verizon see 12mbps down on a bad day.

What's funny is AT&T and T-Mobile's 3G networks can match your pathetic Sprint LTE speeds.

here in nyc metro area all 3 carriers have around the same lte speed. att Verizon and sprint. sprint should get better now that they actually have money with the merger.

There are a lot of uneducated people on here.

Look at yourself in the mirror for once. You are the uneducated one. Anyone who proclaims that the equipment has LTE-A support and Sprint is just a "software update" away from LTE-A is uneducated and clueless

I have, yet, to get a rebuttal from you on that. Probably because you have no idea what's actually going on, but love to claim that Sprint has Rel. 10 equipment up!

my speeds. I wish I could get a screenshot of my newest tests, but this GE rom doesn't seem to have screenshot capabilities :(

you must live in some small town. I wish we got speeds like that here

Yup, Boston is a very small town. :D

here's some tests from a couple days ago. The Wi-Fi (for comparison) is from my work.
