Sprint is so terrible I must admit, I beat my friend on Verizon every single time. This was best out of 10 using the same server one phone at a time, we also get the same coverage inside of buildings isn't that crazy? granted it's only two bars of service for the both of us but it keeps the testing equal as LTE is greatly effected by signal strength.

Look at yourself in the mirror for once. You are the uneducated one. Anyone who proclaims that the equipment has LTE-A support and Sprint is just a "software update" away from LTE-A is uneducated and clueless

I have, yet, to get a rebuttal from you on that. Probably because you have no idea what's actually going on, but love to claim that Sprint has Rel. 10 equipment up!

my speeds. I wish I could get a screenshot of my newest tests, but this GE rom doesn't seem to have screenshot capabilities :(

When I was in Boston, I was amazed by the speeds AT&T reaches there, you could go to any corner of the city and get speeds on the high 50's, some places had some amazing speeds, I managed to get 70 or so around the Beacon Hill/Downtown area

Those are AT&T 3G HSPA+ speeds.

Yup, no one can touch AT&T here in Boston. Not even VZW. My speeds have increased since the network went up in late 2011.

I thought you said you get 25 down?

AT&T best in my opinion. Verizon second , I like gsm the best. Sprint forget about speeds ull never be at AT&T speeds.

Here is my most amazing speed test using my iPad Mini on AT&T. And people wonder why I bad mouth them so much and promote T-Mobile all I can.

I don't have LTE at my house.

In some areas near my home, it's the exact opposite. AT&T has fast HSPA+ while T-Mobile is stuck in EDGE.

I think this is highly dependent on where a particular wireless carrier can install infrastructure.

I wish T-Mobile were better here (considering prices), but according to their coverage maps, T-Mobile 3G covers less area than AT&T LTE where I live, and I can't live with that. I'd be on EDGE half of the time with T-Mobile.

How many different accounts do you on MR? Claiming the exact same stuff about no LTE at your house on your iPad Mini. No reason to be making duplicate accounts to parade TMobile around here.

He has trouble getting more than 2 bars of service he's lucky to get 3 and even then his speeds don't improve much. I on the otherhand walk outside and get 5 bars and 25+Mbps.
Talk is a sad thing. Either prove it or stop wasting everyone's time with your sprint love. That's for S4Gru

AT&T is pretty awesome.

Their HSPA+ coverage is massive and faster than CDMA EVDO by a huge margin. It's even faster or comparable to Sprint Wimax and LTE.

Then there's LTE which hovers in the 40mb down/12mb up range.

HSPA+/LTE is a great combo, and provides the best smartphone experience. It sure as hell stomps 3G/LTE or 3G/WiMax

There are a lot of uneducated people on here.

Be nice.

I had 11 years with Sprint until I decided to go with the iPhone 4S, and AT&T was the only option that made sense because HSPA+ is much better than Sprint or Verizon EVDO and Wimax (Pre LTE Sprint)

On Sprint 3G on my Galaxy S2 I was getting literally speeds like dial up from AOL circa 2001, and Wimax was just complete ass.

I hope you guys have unlimited data...10 speed tests will use a lot of data.

10 speed tests at those speeds barely uses anything. Sprint is like an "All you can eat buffet but the trays are always empty"

I don't understand the obsession with speed on a wireless device. Sure, back in the days when I was getting ~100kbps with 1800 ms ping times it was an issue. But as long as I can consistently get 2 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up with sub-100 ms pings it, will do everything I want it to. Sure, I have to wait a few extra seconds for my podcast download or for Netflix to buffer...but that's not a big deal. I stream Pandora at Wifi quality, Netflix, etc. with no problems. *shrug*

These speeds were typical for me on AT&T in NYC, coverage was also spotty.

I'm jealous of these LTE screenshots though, very impressive.

They neither have the spectrum nor the backhaul at each tower to upgrade to LTE-A with "only a software update." Not to mention, zero devices support it currently.

Maybe they need to work on actually getting on schedule with their LTE deployment before worrying about the next step.

People realize that they have deployed Rel. 10 equipment. The Sprint fanclub fails to realize that Sprint is over-promising and under-delivering. EVDO is still a nightmare and LTE is still spotty everywhere. They blame the contractors, which is interesting because TMobile, AT&T, and VZW have had no issues with the same contractors.

It's even more ironic that TMobile has announced they will have ~116 LTE markets up soon. They only started in 2013. Sprint started Fall 2012 and is running months behind in almost all of their markets.

I still stand by my statement that VZW and AT&T will have LTE-A up by year-end in more markets than Sprint will have LTE up. TMobile is not far behind in top metros either.

LTE-A doesn't require additional spectrum and backhaul, not to my knowledge anyway, it actually makes better use of the spectrum. One of its components is carrier aggregation, which allows for increased bandwith which results in higher data speeds.

As far as the whole Sprint debate, I think it's pointless to keep beating a dead horse. It doesn't change the fact that their new network supports LTE-A, and they, along with T-Mobile, could begin launching it today if they wanted to. But like you said, currently there aren't any devices that support it.
