It depends on how you use it. If you're a runner who doesn't want to lug their phone with them, this is great! You can now get texts, have a way to send an emergency phone call. It's invaluable.
If you always have your phone on you, this might not be worth it.
I'll definitely be getting one. My use cases:
* Swimming - can't have my phone with me, but now I can still see any texts
* Working out in the gym - rather leave my phone in my locker
* At the beach - don't have to worry about hiding my phone under my beach towel and it getting possibly stolen.
* Bicycling - I don't like carrying my phone in my bike bag. Now I don't have to.
* I don't use my phone for facebooking, or any social media. I just send/receive texts and emails. And I hate carrying it around. I think I'll be able to leave my phone at home or in my car now. Sweet!
Agree completely with the above. Problem is cost.
It's well worth $10/month to me as an 'insurance policy' so that I'm always available. If I'm in trouble, or there's an emergency at home, I'll know about it immediately. Not hours later.

That just made the a series 3 LTE an easy pass for me.

You can purchase series 3 without LTE.
Makes you wonder how we ever survived back in the days of landline phones and few/no answering machines.![]()
It really was very different 30+ years ago.
[...] Sigh. Good and bad.
I would like LTE to have the ability to make emergency calls when out running. But, hopefully that scenario never (or at least very rarely) comes up. Hard to swallow $120/year for that.
There was a lot of talk from people who liked to run with just the watch and Bluetooth headphones and others would say how dangerous that would be without a phone in case of an emergency. This eliminates that concern and I love the idea of further not needing my phone around.
I play in the yard a lot with my grandson and miss a lot of texts though most isn’t critical. This also helps a lot. Same for some work where I don’t have wi-fi and don’t carry my phone.
I can see plenty of usages for lte and $10 isn’t that much. As of right now though, I have a series 2 Hermès and don’t want to give that one up without being able to sell for $400 or so. Wouldn’t want to pay $10 without it being my daily wear. But finding someone to buy for $400 or more probably isn’t going to happen even though I paid $1200+ a year ago.
Right now, I would rather have the series 3 with lte than a iPhone 10.
It counts as a device. I asked.Has anyone heard of the watch goes against the 10 device limit on AT&T. If so, the decision is no longer in my hands.

I will get the LTE version and try it with service. I would assume as long as you are not under contract you can cancel it anytime (like a tablet).

That’s good to know. I think we bought ours days apart and I really like the leather band as it is far superior to apples leather bands.I bet to differ re: resale on that Hermes. There's one on eBay right now that was almost up to 600 dollars in bids last I checked it. Included fauve leather strap, orange sport strap and the original Hermes box. I have all that. If I can sell mine for around 600 dollars, I will absolutely do it. I have enjoyed the Hermes this past year, but I don't need an Hermes. It was more of a novelty purchase for me.
