What? You have provided no context to what you are complaining about.Wow, just called to discuss this with AT&T and the rep told me that they do this in order to promote their Next plan. Spoke with a supervisor and they told me that there is nothing they can do about it.
Guess it's time to look for another carrier.

I'm in TX, we pay tax on the subsidized amount, not the full price. I looked back at an old iphone purchase to verify this. So for some people, the tax should be considered. For me, it makes the 2 year contract that much more appealing.
