visual voice mail is not a FREE feature. It is the next tier up from enhanced voicemail and will be 4.99
PDA would be about 34.99 but you might have something like BB messenger which would use data and not SMS
now if you need unlimited SMS and unlimited DATa then it's 49.99
and you need 7 to 7 cause I'm not spending another 20 bucks to get 900 minutes when I can double my minutes by getting 7 to 7
How are you gonna have any rollover minutes with 450 anytime minutes thats like what 4 2 minute calls a day!!!
Wifi will only work if you have unlocked wifi at your work or home, but on the road att has about 40,000 wifi locations that is why i use the 19.99 bolt on.
So really you are looking at least a 110 bucks or more for this. It's still a great deal.
That's not true at all. That's like saying if you can afford an HDTV you can afford $150 cable. But maybe I just want an HDTV to watch movies, umm?
false. example: me. I am in high school and don't have enough money to pay $100ish a month. but i can save up over a few months for $500 easily if its a one shot spend.
Can someone explain to me the point of putting wifi into a phone if I'm going to be forced into purchasing a data plan at $40/month, on top of my minutes plan, anyway? This is a case of a corporation blackmailing their consumers into purchasing services they often don't need. I want a convergence device that gives me music, movies, PIM, and phone. I need robust calendar and appointment scheduling. I need quick and easy text messaging. I need excellent voicemail options, as I work with 35 seperate clients on a weekly basis. I don't really need 24/7 internet access on my phone. And I've gone from a sure thing to an almost positive no way on the iPhone.
I'm even leaning to switching back to PC so I can get a phone that will easily sync to a computer so I don't lose all my appointments if something goes wrong. Missing Sync sucks. ATT sucks. And if Steve Jobs realized ATT was going to pull this stunt then maybe he sucks too.
And ATT is requiring that data plans get purchased with all their "smart phones". Period.
Funny no one cares about the Google apps and widgets mentioned??
I think that arn should add "neutral" or "don't care" rating in addition to positive and negative. Personaly, I do not really care about iPhone or iPod news posted on MR. It would also be a good way to test how relevant posted news are to the audience.
if you can afford $500 on a phone, you can afford a expensive plan.
i dont think this will be as mainstream as they think.
highschool kids shouldn't be allowed to have things like this...you just showed how young, immature, and inexperienced you are.
Apple confirmed during MWSF that the iPhone would not be able to be used as an iPod without a cellular contract.
Is it just me, or does Google's Calendar utility look just a weeeeeeeee bit like Apple's iCal?
WTF? How does that make sense? If you're not using the cellular functions of the phone then why would the offline iPod features be disabled? That sounds bogus to me.
But what about the rumours about a prepaid service, then it must? or you could get a prepaid and then not use it?
Makes sense to me. If you dont need a phone then folks need to just wait for the New Touch Screen iPods later this year. - Period.![]()
It's a phone...
4GB is NOT embarrassingly tiny for a phone. And you're not paying $100/GB. It's not a hard drive, or a flash drive. It's a phone with a sh**load of features that are actually useful inside.
Yeah really. WHo the hell cares that a single device is going to drive the entire industry to be more innovative. Who cares that a $500 cell phone is gonna sell by the boatloads. Who cares that this is going to be yet another market dominated by Apple. I'm gonna stick my head back up my ass so I don't have to hear about successful Apple products on an Apple enthusiast site.
and I do agree it is very tiny as far as space for a video iPod
But who would want to buy this to use it simply as an iPod? Yes, widescreen is cool, but the storage is embarrasingly tiny. You'll basically be paying 100$ per gig. That's outrageous. Video iPod with 4 gigs of ram?
