The date is shown in the FAQ section linked near the bottom of the email.Did yours actually state 3/7/18?
edit: I assume you didn't have HBO before. All of the emails for those already subscribed to HBO (including mine) don't state a thru date.

I've also received the same email but the HBO channels are not active even if the email states they have added them and that I don't need to do anything.
Wondering if I should add the HBO subscription... I'm afraid they will charge me and then spend several hours fighting customer service.
I've been with DirecTV since 1999. Have yet to get a loyalty "anything" (except for fees and service cost increases).Only four months old and they're calling it a "loyalty" special. No doubt, the service is bleeding subscribers. Wonder how much money they lost on the free Apple TVs…
Here's the current list, they seem to be updating more frequently now.

I'm not going to be home for a couple of hours, so I'll going to try it then. (Hoping things might be clear then) I might try the the hobo go app & see if I can log in with my Direct tv credentials.
From the FAQ:The email I received doesn't have a date.
The only thing the FAQ discuses is effective dates. No dates for current HBO subscribers that received the free ATV. Others on reddit have a thru date mentioned in the body of the email, which I assume is people not subscribed to HBO.

That's great, and also not the question I asked of the poster I replied to. It also doesn't list a date for those of us that have HBO and received the ATV.From the FAQ:

Streaming has been almost perfect the last week or so. I was just about to cancel, but maybe now I will keep it...
Been thinking the same. Would only be $3/extra vs what we were already paying. So HBO and Starz for $8?? Yes, please.I might just add Starz to the package.
That's because it varies for everyone in that situation. It will be 12 months AFTER the three month required subscription is completed. It also doesn't list a date for those of us that have HBO and received the ATV.
I was simply asking the guy a question about a date being stated in his email. Jesus, let it go.Been thinking the same. Would only be $3/extra vs what we were already paying. So HBO and Starz for $8?? Yes, please.

What is this magic you speak of? I was unaware I had access to NBC. How do I get NBC on DirecTV Now?First two months of service were rough during peek hours. It's been running flawlessly since then and I'm a very happy customer. Only con is that NBC needs to be airplayed to the Apple TV.
This is perfect timing since I was considering adding HBO.
Just curious about the context of this comment... I read it as "AT&T just gave its customers something extra at no cost, and I used to defend them, but no more."I used to be a big defender of AT&T. Not anymore. They are a horrible, horrible company.
HBO hadn't been added to my lineup last night, but it has as of this morning (along with HBO GO access). I almost added the service myself last night, but glad I was patient and listened to what the email stated.
There still doing the Apple TV promo - thought that expired.Signed up this past weekend, got a free Apple TV, and now I'm getting a loyalty bonus for my three days of service. Thanks AT&T
Seriously, I'm pretty happy with the service so far. No issues.

I'm sure there's more to your assessment...
