Atomic billet aluminum Ip4 case

Personally I was quite impressed by the hybrid case - nice looks and no reception issue. The hybrid piece does have a bit of give to it, so it's not quite as "secure" feeling, but it never slipped off while I had it on my phone or anything. The one I tested was 3/4 hybrid, with the 4th side in aluminum. Unni has said they will also offer all hybrid models for those who like the same color for an entire case (long story short, delrin doesn't take color well, so it's black).

Of the "Designer" cases I've tried so far, this is the only one that didn't shred my reception - however disclaimer: I'm in an area with crummy reception - for those in 5 bar turf all the time, the aluminum cases should work fine as they are :)
 
Well I took the plunge and ordered one of the Hybrid cases from them this morning.

I reached out to Atomic, who responded within 10 minutes, about the case and the positive reports Tuesday evening. He indicated they are going to put the case on sale this coming Wednesday but sent me details to go ahead to order and pay ahead of time.

I ordered up a White & Red to go with my soon to be White iPhone. Like many others, my home is in an area of really poor signal and all the others have failed, so lets keep our fingers crossed.

How much are the new Hybrids? Did they send you pics to choose from?
 
They got back to you that quickly. Heck im just surprised they responded at all. I've been trying to reach them for a little over a week about the new cases and Im getting nothing. I emailed and even asked over their twitter and still nothing. :mad: I may not buy anything from them if they are going to be that sketchy to get a hold of.

I may have spoke a little to quickly. After a quick response the other night I went ahead and placed my order.

Now a little over 24 hours later and 3 emails to them I cannot get a response from Unni.

I'll give him till Monday, but if I don't here back I'm filing a claim with PP. I so tired of sending companies money and them not fulfilling their end of the transaction.

They seem to be hit or miss about returning emails. Unni emailed me about the new hybrid cases Monday or Tuesday night asking if I wanted him to send me the info on email ordering the hybrid (don't know why he didn't just send me the info first, he's had my name on a list of people to contact regarding the cases as soon as they had them ready), and I replied back within 5 minutes asking for the info. As of right now (Friday afternoon), he still hasn't gotten back with me regarding the ordering of the hybrid case. So they seem to be either really busy, or severely disorganized (hope it's not an Element part 2!).

And he should get back to you by Monday, as he has said that's when they are going live with the official release of the hybrids and offering them for sale on the store. Maybe they are scrambling to get that ready.
 
That doesn't excuse just ignoring peoples questions. A simple "hey they come out on this day" would have satisfied me. Ignoring me tends to kind of put me in an ornery mood.
 
After seeing the video review of the hybrid from these folks, I want to give it a try - I emailed them last weekend and got a response on Tuesday that the website would be updated by the end of the week to allow us to see info on the hybrid and order.

As of right now - NADA...

Well they have the new ones up on the website an available for order. No mention of it anywhere though. I was just about to order one until I noticed the almost $20 shipping charge to Alabama???? Where are thy located that it cost $20 dollars to ship something. Sigh...

It is simply amazing how conditioned people have become. Who ever would have though to pay almost a hundred bucks for a plastic iphone bumper?

Sure it is a bit nicer, but that much for a piece of polystyrenedelrin..or whatever it is?

With that said.....I am considering ordering one for myself.
