leaning more now to ATT, they screwed up big time in the preorder processed causing people to miss the release date 11/3. In my case, miss the 11/3 delivery and lose my 11/3 local Apple store pickup. I do this every launch and I can say I know all the tricks of the trade pretty much at this point. But everything went wrong this preorder time, I’m so pissed and annoyed.

I called Apple yesterday ang obviously you wouldn’t get thru cuz Apple agents are unavailable and phone will drop. How convenient. So after several attempts I got thru and waited for an hour on hold. Manager apologized and expedited my order to a “whopping 2 days faster!”, and a case. I mean I’m mad still but it’s something. Now on to call ATT...

Not denying, but how exactly did they screw up and you also lose your pickup? Just need more info.

Apple- website is down and App Store was down until 3:10am... at that point everyone else already placed their order and delivery slipped to 2 weeks.
ATT- carrier verification failed million times!!! It keeps giving me Error Failed when it came to entering my account info.
ATT/Apple- when I finally got thru the order, I originally got 11/3 release day pick up but I received a “reserved your iPhone” message and I ended up losing my 11/3 pickup and they gave me 2-3 weeks 11/17-24 delivery.

Apple website was definitely down for an extended time. From your initial message I wasn’t sure if you used the website or Apple app.

By the time I completed my pre order in the Apple app, the website was still down.

The iOS app was up by 2:01AM for me, order completed at 2:02.

It is the luck of the draw on pre-order morning. Apple didn't have to give you a case, let alone move your ship date up by two days. You could have received a late December ship date.

I had the exact opposite experience. The App was down at 3:10am and I ended up using mobile Safari.

Woke up about 4 hours later and received a denial from IUP. Instead of letting me choose another payment option, they just canceled my order.

I re-ordered using the App and AT&T Next. December 11-18 ship date.

So OP, with a November ship date, you have nothing to complain about as you at least get yours in November.

Yes, I can imagine how you feel.....terrible, isn't it

Seriously, it’s a phone. So what if you have to wait a few extra days

While I agree to a certain extent, Appl3FTW is a good poster and simply wants to vent. I say let him be mad as hell at the situation for a bit (I would be too!) instead of trying to immediately dismiss how he's feeling. I'm sure he already knows what you're saying is true in the back of his mind and will eventually come around to it.

P.S. sorry to hear things got screwed up for ya OP. Always sucks to play all the cards right but get a bad beat on pre-order night :(

Hope your delivery date keeps getting moved up to an acceptable range :)

A LOT of people had issues with the App not getting through (and with the app or website forcing you to re-enter your billing/shipping address). No rhyme or reason to it. In my case, Apple Pay messed up as well - took 3 tries before it charged successfully. Should've had a 11/3 delivery, but ended up with 11/20-27 :( Yep, waiting almost a month!! :(

Hoping Apple once again under-promises-over-delivers for all of us. (see some T-Mobile folks getting bumped up from 11/10 to 11/3, so maybe there's hope yet).

I'm not admitting defeat until 11/3 comes and goes and I don't yet have my new phone. (may actually brave the hoards and line up for store walk-in).

Thank you. Yea just needed to vent. I was basically mad yesterday and that’s coming from knowing I did everything right and by the book. What pisses me off the most is when I do everything right and someone else screws it up for me. I mean let’s be real here, I can accept if I failed to order on time and it was my fault, but I did everything right.

Weird. For me the app came up first at around 3:10 ET and I'm on ATT and had no problems with them or the app and was able to get a Nov. 3 date.

I was trying to do the app because since the iPhone 6 release app had been flawless for me. I always got the release date. This time around it wasn’t working and I had to resort to Apple online (one that came up first).

Att basically didn’t prepare for it enough.. they dropped the ball IMO

Aren't you the guy that mysteriously has something happen every launch and you see how much free stuff you can get from Apple or the carrier?
The only problem I had so far when it comes to release date was the botched Apple Watch release day. Every iPhone order so far had been flawless. And we know for sure how hellish that went. This is coming close.
[doublepost=1509205169][/doublepost]The manager offered me the case but I haven’t received anything... no email and it’s not showing on my order. I hope she pulls their and doesn’t lie to me. I mean she’s a manager.

Seems like you have a “problem” during every product launch.

Why should I have to go through carrier verification when Im buying outright anyway?
Well some people pay Verizon every month and would be SOL on the only model they can purchase since it’s a CDMA network and can’t work on all the GSM models that att and t mobile are all capable on. So when everyone needs there coveted Verizon model it would hurt the chances for the actual customers who NEED that model in order for their network to actually work. So it’s very fair. If there weren’t networks using CDMA still best believe apple would only be using intel.

That’s why Apple should be making all of the phone models the same and you can avoid this scenario. People pay the same money they should get the same hardware.

I still didn’t get any update on the case. I wonder if she was lying to me. No email no case addition to the order yet.

I had no problem receiving the iPhone 8 plus, it was on time launch day. I have a problem with the actual phone itself. Different case here.

They do in a few months. Unfortunately at the time of launch this is the way it has to be until then. Every company needs their piece of the pie.

I had issues with AT&T last year, which led to my decision of dealing exclusively with Apple. AT&Ts verification system experienced a glitch early during the preordering frenzy, which caused me to reserve a unit for my wife. We're both scheduled to receive our devices by 11/3 though.
