Reading all the posts and even feeling slightly bummed about my own order status (still "in progress" even though I've been charged and I've received my CSS two days ago), this has reminded me to never, ever order directly from AT&T again. Regardless of when my phone arrives, this whole ordeal has been nothing short of a disaster. From AT&T customer service reps clearly not knowing what the hell they're talking about; to confusing (and at times, misleading) information on the site and over the phone, I honestly can't see why anyone would order from AT&T again. Doubtful if any of the headaches most of us are experiencing with AT&T would happen with Apple.

And before someone judges me for being a little anal retentive over something as simple as a phone, firstly, suck it, secondly, when it comes to customer service, we should all expect the utmost best. That includes honesty, clarity and where applicable, expeditiousness. AT&T has failed in my book. I usually try my absolute best to be courteous with their phone customer service reps but it is beyond annoying and insulting when they read from a script that doesn't even make sense. And I know it's not the individual reps fault, but seriously... DO BETTER AT&T.

That's all.

Hey Man- I agree with you 100%. This isn't rocket science, Hope you get it Fri. I see alot of frustration on these posts. You know whats going on. Give it a month or so and bitch about something and get credit. Good Luck

Why are people so hell bent on some website's order status page? It's Wednesday before a Friday release and people feel slighted and betrayed? If your order is screwed up come Saturday then by all means voice your opinion to the highest mountain you can get to. But until then people need to have a little patience. This is a logistical nightmare for all parties involved and no one has singled you out in an attempt to screw you.

I posted this earlier and am posting it again because I believe there is some validity to it.

I think the shipping information has a lot to do with where it is shipping from and how long in transit it takes to get there.

for example my wife had to mail some half priced carnival tickets (HLSR) to one of her customers and inadvertently she put a Houston address and the FedEx retail store she placed the shipment with was in Katy. The package had to be overnighted. The package left Houston on a plane to Dallas. Then from Dallas it caught a flight back to Houston. Then went out to delivery. After pulling up the address, the client actually lived just 10 minutes down the road from where she dropped the package off at.

The long and short of it..... it doesn't matter what we figure out, find out or hash out here... we are only going to get the phones when they are actually shipped and when they actually arrive. I have had a 3G since April of 2009. So I guess technically I have been waiting for over 3 yrs for Friday to come. i can wait a little longer. Just wished for once AT&T would give us some straight-forward, clear, concise, non-sugar coated answer. It's AT&T though.

Hey ... Question to everyone here. Preordered a 32GB Black from ATT's site and should be getting it friday but worried that I should have went with 64GB Black instead. Does anyone know ATT's exchange policies in this circumstance? Like how long we have to do it and how the fact that iPhones are going to be cleaned out for a while will impact this. Thanks

www.ups.com --> "tracking" tab --> "track shipments" --> "track by reference" --> (enter your phone number) under "shipping reference" --> :)

Friday, 09/21/2012, by 3:00 P.M.(by end of day for residential deliveries)

[ordered 7:32 AM EST]

After this I will never have to order through ATT...only reason I had to this year was because I was adding a line in addition to an upgrade... did the upgrade on apple app @3:07 am ... and now i will have enough lines on my account where I can always just do upgrades at apple rather than this bull ****

I'm no expert and I could be wrong but my guess is it'll take awhile to be able to exchange just because of the fact there's a limited supply. But I'm sorry I couldn't provide you with a more definite answer. I wish the best of luck to you:)

I finally found my tracking number. I couldn't get it through going to https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/. I went to the Premier business side and it showed my tracking number. Now my other phone says shipped but no tracking number in either location.

Can you take a screen shot? I was to see how the screen should update from "preorder processing" to shipped i guess?

Also, what phone? time ordered?

Not slighted or betrayed at all. I am not sitting in a dark corner crying my heart out, trust me. I know that none of this is intentional (at least I hope not) but I would have thought that after years of selling the iPhone, AT&T would have gotten their ***** together when it comes to pre-orders. I recognize that this is a logistical nightmare (even though it really shouldn't be) but I think what we all want is complete transparency and not the run around, which most folks seem to be getting.
