After this I will never have to order through ATT...only reason I had to this year was because I was adding a line in addition to an upgrade... did the upgrade on apple app @3:07 am ... and now i will have enough lines on my account where I can always just do upgrades at apple rather than this bull ****
Reading all the posts and even feeling slightly bummed about my own order status (still "in progress" even though I've been charged and I've received my CSS two days ago), this has reminded me to never, ever order directly from AT&T again. Regardless of when my phone arrives, this whole ordeal has been nothing short of a disaster. From AT&T customer service reps clearly not knowing what the hell they're talking about; to confusing (and at times, misleading) information on the site and over the phone, I honestly can't see why anyone would order from AT&T again. Doubtful if any of the headaches most of us are experiencing with AT&T would happen with Apple.
And before someone judges me for being a little anal retentive over something as simple as a phone, firstly, suck it, secondly, when it comes to customer service, we should all expect the utmost best. That includes honesty, clarity and where applicable, expeditiousness. AT&T has failed in my book. I usually try my absolute best to be courteous with their phone customer service reps but it is beyond annoying and insulting when they read from a script that doesn't even make sense. And I know it's not the individual reps fault, but seriously... DO BETTER AT&T.

Agreed. I upgraded 3 lines and figured it would be simpler through AT&T. Shows what I know...![]()
I'll give you one better! One of my orders from the DAY AFTER (placed on Saturday morning) is now listed as "shipped".
Go figure.
I'm no expert and I could be wrong but my guess is it'll take awhile to be able to exchange just because of the fact there's a limited supply. But I'm sorry I couldn't provide you with a more definite answer. I wish the best of luck to you![]()
Thats what I figured even though I was able to get into the Apple Store at 3AM and had the phones in my cart. The Apple store wanted me to make texting plan changes as part of the ordering process that I could NOT opt out of. I figured that by going with ATT I would not have to modify my plan...

Not slighted or betrayed at all. I am not sitting in a dark corner crying my heart out, trust me. I know that none of this is intentional (at least I hope not) but I would have thought that after years of selling the iPhone, AT&T would have gotten their ***** together when it comes to pre-orders. I recognize that this is a logistical nightmare (even though it really shouldn't be) but I think what we all want is complete transparency and not the run around, which most folks seem to be getting.

I think they are just pulling orders randomly out of a hat.
My order from the 15th was also updated to shipped status before my two from the 14th!

Someone in this thread, somewhere around page 80 or 90, mentioned about having to sign for the package. Is that true? They can't just let it at the door? If so, I may be taking a trip to fedex after work Friday.
I ordered my 64 gb black at 3:45 am on the 14th and it still doesn't say shipped! How come people who ordered theirs latter in the day already have shipping confirmation?
