Verizon No Better

I think everyone needs to calm down here. If you head on over to the Verizon pre-order forum you'll note the POSTS ARE THE SAME AS HERE! People without tracking #'s, etc. Please calm down people. Verizon Pre-Orders: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1440947/


I believe quantity backordered from 1 to 0 indicates that a phone has been allocated for you. Then comes preparing for shipment. After that it should be marked shipped. Now why I do not have tracking information and it says shipped is beyond me.
 
I'll give you one better! One of my orders from the DAY AFTER (placed on Saturday morning) is now listed as "shipped".

Go figure.

OMG ZOMG YAY TRACKING NUMBER!!!...I ordered at 4 pm the 15th. I can't believe it!

Yes this gives me hope! Even though I technically ordered 9/14 in the am, I didn't accept terms & conditions until 9/15 3pm est.

which one did you order? and premier?

White 323G. I ordered via the regular AT&T "wireless" website but it apparently went through premier even though I never logged in to Premier specifically to do so. Same thing happened when I did the Pre-order for the iPhone 4. I ended up getting that phone a day before launch.
 
Got a ups tracking number!

Boy, I go through this every year, spend days obsessively reading the forums, refreshing the order page. Going from site to site, listening to all the horror stories.
All three AT&T preorder phones came in the day promised, and my ipad 3 came in even though the order status still had it sitting in Hong Kong.

No matter where you order it from, there will always be issues.

But now I can work from home Friday with no guilt :)

Ordered at 9:45 PST and thought that I missed the mark this time

My order status is currently "Shipped" with no tracking number and no carrier listed, as many have mentioned before.

However, I went to UPS.com and searched for my shipment using my phone number as the reference number, and found my order. I ordered on 9/14 at 3:00am EST (right when preorders opened) and my delivery is expected on 9/21 by 10:30am, according to UPS.com.

For those that have "Shipped" status but no tracking number or carrier listed on AT&T's order status page, I'd recommend heading over to UPS.com and checking there using your phone number as a reference number.
 
Those of you who are freaking out why your tracking numbers aren't working; this is because either:

1) Fulfillment center has yet to close their manifest.
2) UPS or FedEx has yet to receive them.
3) UPS or FedEx has yet to do the first scan.

Just because you have a tracking number doesn't mean you can track it immediately. Chill out Mary.

First, people that are cancelling their orders even though they show zero in the back order because they don't have shipping info yet. You are screwing your self, your phone would arrive on Friday if you didnt cancel.

Second, people that are canceling your orders even though it still says back ordered, if you cancel you are screwing yourself, if your email said the 21st for delivery you are getting your phone the 21st.

Third, its still only Wednesday why are you feeling slighted by A&TT, don't you people ever order stuff online, status updates and tracking information is always slow. Stuff is frequently delivered before shipping or tracking information is ever sent, I know a lot of people have used Amazon.

Fourth, stop calling AT&T and especially stop using the chat, they do not know anything and will not give you correct information.

Fifth, i ordered a phone from AT&T and one from Apple. The one from apple still says in progress preparing for shipping. I don't have any shipping information from APPLE yet. Everyone loves apple but they aren't any more transparent at this point.

Sixth, most of the people that got their phone in by the cut-off and an initial confirmation e-mail with a shipping date of the 21st wouldn't even be freaking out if they didn't read this thread. Ton's of overly worried people on here for no reason. Do not freak out until it is Friday night and you don't have your phone, do not cancel before then either because you will just end up screwing yourself.
 
Sigh I placed 2 orders for 2 white 64 giggers at around 12:45 am pst on the 14th and they are both still processing and back ordered. Am I screwed?

Regular site.
Order was never on backorder.
Charge still pending.
Received shipping status today around 11am Wednesday, but no tracking, or shipping date.
What's the word, thunderbird? Others ordering many hours after me have tracking numbers and such.
Overconcerned on my part?
 
Well, my girlfriend ordered hers on the 15th and she is backordered, but her order date also changed to the 16th. My order date is still the 14th. That has to mean something right? I hope..
 
my scheduled delivery just changed to "by 10:30am". I know im not gonna get it by then but its exciting to think that.:)
 
New findings...

Fantastic... so apparently I was screwed from the get go... Just spoke to sales support and learned some new info..


Due to the fact that the credit dept was not open till 6am and now they require credit checks to add lines to existing accounts, I was not able to add a line through apple (and i believe some of you had this issue as well).

Second.. premier site was down.. couldn't add a line through that site and when it came back online.. i was receiving a data plan addition error which wouldn't let me continue..

My only option turned out to be signing up as a brand new customer with a new line of service... and while it got my order in.. it shot up an alert which I was not notified about on Friday... Basically it was asking for verification because I already had an active account with ATT... BUT.. the dept that did this verification does not work on weekends, so this alert was finally cleared on Monday.

So.... I asked why an alert will take me out of my spot in line (while address alerts and whatnot never actually removed someone from their spot in line while they were addressed).

I was told that they were not sure and it shouldn't have been... also interesting when I asked why other People were getting their orders fulfilled first .. the answer was.... "Maybe because you're a new customer..."... seriously?? wow i'm sort of glad i'm not a new customer... great treatment.. I would love to move my account from Verizon and then told no you have to wait to get a phone even though you ordered on time......


Here is to holding out hope that my order gets filled anyway...... WTF:mad:

PEOPLE! I understand your excitement. Believe me, I got swept up in it with the iPhone 4 pre-order debacle and this is DE'JA VU!!! Everyone was freaking out, canceling orders because of silly reasons ie. no tracking number, on backorder, etc. Most people got their phones on time. Many, including me, got our phones a day EARLY. This launch is absolutely NO DIFFERENT than the iPhone 4! It makes no difference when you placed your order, it makes no difference what color or capacity it is. It doesn't matter if it was Premier or not. everything the CSR tell you is complete crap! The only thing that will prevent you from getting your phone is an act of God or.............if you do the most idiotic thing possible and CANCEL your order that is in the process of making it's way around the Country to your doorstep!

I have to admit though. I still can't figure out why something so damn silly and meaningless as when a phone arrives is so much fun!

Reading all the posts and even feeling slightly bummed about my own order status (still "in progress" even though I've been charged and I've received my CSS two days ago), this has reminded me to never, ever order directly from AT&T again. Regardless of when my phone arrives, this whole ordeal has been nothing short of a disaster. From AT&T customer service reps clearly not knowing what the hell they're talking about; to confusing (and at times, misleading) information on the site and over the phone, I honestly can't see why anyone would order from AT&T again. Doubtful if any of the headaches most of us are experiencing with AT&T would happen with Apple.

And before someone judges me for being a little anal retentive over something as simple as a phone, firstly, suck it, secondly, when it comes to customer service, we should all expect the utmost best. That includes honesty, clarity and where applicable, expeditiousness. AT&T has failed in my book. I usually try my absolute best to be courteous with their phone customer service reps but it is beyond annoying and insulting when they read from a script that doesn't even make sense. And I know it's not the individual reps fault, but seriously... DO BETTER AT&T.

That's all.
Most of the people who ordered early last Friday will get their phones this Friday from AT&T.

The only people who are finding this a "disaster" are (1) a small percentage of people who's orders got messed up and are rightfully upset, and (2) those whose orders are fine but are checking the web status every 5 minutes and calling AT&T multiple times a day expecting instantaneous updates on exactly where their iPhone is in the order/shipping process. To those in group (2), please get a grip. It's just a phone, and in all likelyhood you will get it on Friday. :apple:
