Hey Folks,

Update my status

Ordered on 18th at AT&T store.

16g black, went off BO last night and got FedEx 2 days shipping info this afternoon.

16g white, just went off BO.
16g white, just went off BO.

Hope everyone get the phone ASAP.

SO does this mean people who ordered later, like this month (October) won't get theirs until November?

Sarahw and Brounmoney- We are all in the same boat, same model/dates, let's keep each other updated. I am also tired of seeing people who ordered the 1st and getting their phones already. I understand how those with other models are getting them faster, but if the white 16 is in such short supply how is it that someone who ordered on the 1st already has theirs while those who ordered on the 18th are still waiting...

I give up checking my order status, until I see movement with the 18th and 19th preorders there is no hope for us...... :/

Let us know what they say. I'm curious how they'll explain this one.

So here is my saga. I ordered a 16g, white iPhone 5 on 09/17/2012. I was told at that time that it would take 14-21 days for the phone to arrive. I was a bit hesistant, but I decided to go ahead and order it. About a week later, I was in a small town called Pahrump, NV and the local Radio Shack had the phone. So I called AT&T, to cancel my order and they firmly said no. I even called twice after the first initial no and was told that it would not be possible. Bare with me, I know this story is long. So about a week later, I realized that my credit card that I ordered my phone with was about to expire at the end of the month, 09/30/2012 and I did not want my order to be declined, when they were to ship the phone and delay me further. So I called AT&T and told them my dilema and that I just wanted to update my credit card info. Now this is when I became livid. They told me that I would have to cancel my order and reorder the phone, with my new card. All of a sudden, they have the ability to cancel an order and make me restart the ordering process, which I was not willing to do. At this point, I am willing to wait until a local store has it in stock. After a few choice words and threatening to go to Verizon, they credited my bill for the month of October and I made sure that they updated my eligibilty status. Now get this, they still shipped the phone anyway. It is schedule to arrive on 10/10/2012. Once the phone arrives of course I will then call AT&T and pay for the phone, but there system is truly flawed. But I can not complain, October's bill got paid and I am still getting an Iphone 5.

If you ordered in store I would cancel and reserve from apple after 10pm local. I did that and got my phone the next day, I'm using it as we speak :) Depending on your location, that's almost definitely a better route to take

Some movement

I am happy I can see some movement because I seen a lot of people being stuck in Texas for several hours and days so that's a good thing that at least mine departing.
Let's continue to watch with our fingers crossed.

I've had my white iPhone 5 since launch day decided to exchange my white 64gb for a black one but my local AT&T store is sold out but they said they could order it. So today my AT&T store places the order and it actually shipped today as well and is scheduled for Thursday delivery so it looks like inventory is trickling in for those that haven't received theirs yet.

Might as well grab a seat in this thread.

Ordered 10/5, Black 32gb. Still on BO. I can't believe it's only been 5 days since I've ordered it, I must have checked the order status 100 times by now, lol... I'm expecting to wait, but I have a little hope that because of the type I ordered that wait might be a little shorter.

32s are shipping faster than 16s, I hear?

Ordered the i5 white 16gb on 9/18/12 @ 4pm. It's just been shipped today at 10/9/12 heading to CT. All 9/18-9/20 orders are now being fufilled this week!

Ok so this is a quote from a post I made earlier about pre orders and I would like to revisit it "Now I never never thought it was right for apple to sell phones in store on release day before they fill pre orders but that is the way apple works. It seems that apples stock for in store and orders on line are different."

Okay I just want to discuss the pre order process again cause well I still am not sure what apple thinks pre order means or if they care. Now I know all the apple lovers are going to jump on me for this but just pay attention. So why does apple not give pre orders their phones first before selling to the public. I mean if the problem is they did not have enough inventory for the demand then why not push back the pre order day so you could have more time to fill orders. This seems like an easy thing to me.

Let's look at this is practice. For all you gamers you will understand this. If I go into a game stop and want to pre order a copy of the new Call of Duty game I can, and guess what THAT GUARANTEES me a game on launch day. Now all the apple people will say that they do pre orders months in advance. Yes they do, but they also take pre orders in a lot of cases up until the day before. Why is this you ask? Because they sell their store inventory to pre orders before they have them in store. THEY TAKE CARE OF CUSTOMERS THAT PRE ORDER.

My thing is this is one of the more hated companies right now by consumers, but guess what they take care of customers that pre order. People just keep coming back to apple no matter what they do. Please don't tell me we can't compare the two cause Call of Duty is the most popular selling franchise right now. Let's look at the number Call of Duty sold MORE THAN 6.5 million copies of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 on launch day. This is the most popular selling launch in history which is what apple says too. Let's look at something from that same time IPhone 4s which at the time apple said was the best selling iPhone in history. The iPhone 4s was about 4 million in the first 3 days. These both were release at about the same time.

Look at that those numbers for the game are all the pre orders included. Cause they filled those before they sold any in store. Just thought I would share. Let's stop letting companies like apple and att run all over us.

Ordered 64 GB black in-store on 10/1. Shipped out yesterday (10/9) via UPS 2nd day air

I'm seeing a few people who ordered Oct 1 already with shipping details. Is this because of special treatment business account or because it is 64GB model?

I ordered 10/1 also and still on backorder and looks like many in this tread ordered a week or so before that and also still waiting.

Depending on the model u ordered. If u ordered 16GB ur going to be waiting a long time. If u ordered 32,64 its going to get shipped faster.

:)

Thanks. I ordered a 32GB and so far does not seem to be getting shipped out that much faster. So I guess 64GB for those that want it fast and dont mind spending for the extra RAM. 64GB for me is too much.
