Yeah, sounds like it will be there Friday. Not sure where you are but I'm in NY so I'm hoping to be not far behind you.

So - my total timeline was:
9/19 - ordered 9pm ET, had estimated ship date of 10/9-10/18
10/9 - off back order
10/10 - got shipping info (FedEx next day air)

Been keeping a close eye on this thread since I ordered my W16 GB on 9/23.
So the 9/19's and 9/18's 16 GB's are getting off backordered and being shipped this week.
I was on another forum and a guy ordered a black 16 GB on 9/23 through AT&T and got tracking info for it last night.
I think we should be seeing a lot of movement this week and the next two for all pre-orders and those who ordered a few days after the launch date for the 16 GB's. I'm hoping.
So the 9/19's and 9/18's 16 GB's are getting off backordered and being shipped this week.

Congrats! mine shipped today also, but it's being sent by UPS 2nd Day Air so i have to wait until friday, grr. Haha still very very glad its finally over!
Ordered 16gb black 9/20. Still on back order, but that is the reason I ordered late. Let someone else do the beta testing & returning multiple phones. Actually, I'm worried I'm still getting the phone too early, but I hope that at least some of the initial glitches will have been ironed out by the time my phone was manufactured.

I ordered mine on the 21st and it shipped out on the 4th of October, 2nd day air and I got it on Monday the 8th! I was dying all weekend knowing that it was on its way. When it finally came it was glorious! My Iphone 4 was stolen back in June and I have not had a phone since as I waited for the 5 to come out. So glad I waited...it was worth it.

Went into our local AT&T store yesterday (10-9) around 1:00PM and paid for a new black 64GB. Checked the order status around 11:00PM last night (10-9) and it shows shipped same day with a UPS 2nd day tracking number.
I've been checking the tracking number all morning and all it shows is this:
I don't see any movement and I hope it arrives before the weekend.

Yah I may be new to this forum....but I have been around the Apple community for quite sometime and probably know more and own more products than you ever will. I just wanted to share my good news. Sorry you are heartbroken that you have not received yours yet. Least you could do is be happy for me that it came in since I have not a phone for months on end.
16g white ship to TX already got tracking, arrive this Friday.
another 16 g white ship to NJ, still waiting for tracking.
Update: White iphone 16gb. Ordered on the 19th. Got a tracking # today. Should get it tomorrow. Fed ex. Good Luck everybody!! Hope you get your phones soon.
When did you get off BO again? I really hope more of the 9/19 16gb whites start moving.
Will they email you if it goes off backorder? Like I said, I can't even check my order status unless I call them. Nothing is showing up online.

The UPS tracking number does not register in their system and still says it cannot be found nearly 12 hours later. Not sure why, but hopefully I get my phone in the next couple days. I hope this gives some hope to those who ordered on 9/18.

I'd say worth it. But I also think that 16gb is too little for iPhone. So I may not be helping much. haha. Good luck and let us know what you do.
How about looking completely from a time perspective? Money and phone capacity aside. I feel like I would get it significantly faster.
