Try calling 1 (888) 444-4410 instead to cancel your order. I've canceled mine and my friends because we decided to get our phones at the Apple Store. Explain to them that the order is still on backorder and that it won't ship any time soon. If your upgrade isn't back within 10 minutes, call 611 and tell them to reinstate your upgrade.

Thanks for letting me know. Well I called that number and they told me the same thing. Nothing they can do because i accepted the terms and conditions, even though its in back order.

I assume that means you're a new customer? If so, why don't you just ask them to keep your account active and cancel the phone order? Then they can put an upgrade on their for you to get a phone where you want. Maybe it's not that simple...
 
Frequent lurker / First time poster here.

I ordered a Black iPhone 5 16GB on Tuesday, October 2nd at an AT&T store. I'm hoping for a miracle, but otherwise, I'm expecting it to arrive between the 19th and the 31st. I'm a rather patient person, but I won't be doing an AT&T order again.

Here's my current situation:

Ordered 16g WHT iPhone on Sept. 20th (before noon)

Called AT&T Premier CS today. They told me that the initial 14-21 Business day wait has been extended to 21-28 business days. Initially, my delivery window was scheduled for Oct.10th-19th. Now, they are telling me Oct. 19th - 30th.

I asked to speak to the resolutions team. I explained how it was misleading to tell me 14-21 and then change it to 21-28. They told me that certain color/capacity (I'm assuming 16gig WHT) is in higher demand and they had to push back delivery dates as a results. I told them this was unacceptable and all she could do was credit me $25 to my account.

She also suggested I cancel order and try to pickup at an Apple store. Being that I am adding a line and my primary account holder is out of town, this is not an option for me.

I've been watching this thread since I've ordered. Figured I'd give some insight on my personal experiences. Good luck to all you 16g WHT'ers.

Well, that sucks. I was always told btw 10/11-10/22. I'm not a premier customer, do you think it's different?

No I'm not new. Its an early upgrade, did it with an override. So yeah, its probably more complicated.
 
Time for me to say goodbye to this thread. For those it may help...

Two black, 16 gig ordered and processed on 09/20.

Both came off back-order on 10/13.

Received shipping email for one of them at 5:00 pm on 10/13. Never received email for the other one but the order page was updated with tracking number even later that evening. Two different shipments.

Both due to be delivered via UPS tomorrow.

The waiting sucked so I wish you all a speedy delivery. Like others have said, I won't upgrade through AT&T next time.

I just spoke with an AT&T rep over the phone and was told that my order is still on the initial 14-21 day quote and will ship out between October 19th-30th.
 
How long has it taken you guys before you can EVEN look up your order online? It's supposed to take 24 hours I've heard. I ordered mine last Thursday (10/11) and cannot look it up online - it just gives me an error about no orders existing.

I'm able to call the telephone number and get the status that way. Any idea?

Ordered 9/26, 1 white 16GB, 1 Black 16GB
given time frame of 14-21 business days...

Tomorrow is the 14th day...

Let's see how far into the time frame it goes since it seems only 21/22 orders are being fulfilled today..

Call#1

CSR told me to expect shipment within 21-28 business days. I told them I was quoted 14-21 days and she offered me no other information.

CSR told me 14-21 business days. Shipment window of Oct.10th - 19th. I told him that a previous CSR told me otherwise. He checks his system.

"Actually, the previous CSR was right. It does say that your phone will ship within 14-21 business days but there's an Adjusted Time of 21-28 business days. Looks like they just added that in. Sorry."


Not sure if it applies to only premier accounts or regular accounts but apparently they both share the same warehouses so inventories are probably the same as well. Not sure.

Thanks, I'll check on it if nothing happens in the next few days. But maybe I'll just assume it'll be delayed. I've waited this long, I guess I can wait another week... At this point, I'm kind of over it all... :(
