Well said.
Someone calls you with that nonsense and yells at you dont just hang up like a girl and tell him if you yell Im going to hang up. Tell him where to go and go down there and find him in person. Talk to the manager and if its needed call the cops. Dont be affraid for your family or anything, he's not going to do squat.

Take off the skirt and put on some pants and man up.... the guy crossed a major line! GO to the store and talk to the manager, get the punk fired. IF other stuff happens call the police. Easy solution to a weird situation.

My goodness. How big was he 6'3. I would go up there and call him out and let him know that you won't stand for that and notify his manager. Also let them know that is it happens again you'll contact BBB, record the next transaction over the phone and report to media outlets, and contact the authorities..I can't believe how scary some of you are and most of you would just bow down like that. I'm not just going to wait around until something happens. If your really just that scared then contact the authorities and corporate office and inform them of the incident.
so he gets fired and now the guy is more upset and lookin to get you back

yea thats much better lol

He definetly crossed the line and violated the at&t employee terms and conditions, he can be fired in two seconds. Secondly, you can protect your account by setting up a password, when he types in your phone number it will prompt him for the password and without knowing it he cant gain access to the main screen of your account with address rate plan etc. etc. Third, go to a different at&t store and ask these questions, 1. Does my account show my FAN discount number? 2. If not there ask them to please set you up. 3. Ask them to look in the account notes and see if he put in to waive the activation fee, if not call customer service. 4. If it would make you feel better they can change your phone number in like two seconds.

How do I protect my account with a password? Is this just through the online wireless website?

The above poster is wrong. You can not protect your account from the AT&T employee accessing the information. He will pull it from a different data base than you and as such only his employee information is needed. Sucks but it is true.

As for the fees. the E911 fee you are stuck with an ATT will not wave it. That fee will be the same no matter who you go with. It goes to pay for the 911 network for the wireless phone companies. This is so when you call 911 they can locate you GPS coordinates and for routing all 911 calls. You phone on a 911 goes into a different mode and will grab the BEST tower it can get. It will not grab the best ATT tower but the best local tower it can find. Plus on a 911 call your wireless phone also I believe gains a priority access to the system so it iwil not be bump so that fee is to cover that network.

As for the other stuff well that is just you have to get it in writing or it is worthless. No matter what the rep said you need it in writing.

I worked as an AT&T rep many moons ago when in college.

When someone really pissed somone off here's what other people would do (but not me of course)

We had access to all their personal info: Home phone number, address, SSN, etc. They'd wait until Friday night and find the utility companies in their area. They'd start calling and canceling services. Electricity, home phone, gas, etc.

Wow that is awful, I hope that's not true. I work at a call center, and I've never heard of this happening.

I work IT for a call center (We do ATT Advanced tech support among other accounts) and this is exactly what people do.

Yeah its harsh and I don't condone it myself but you can't imagine some of the ridiculous and vile things people think they can say to techs over the phone.

And this is why I'm always respectful when talking to call center reps, no matter how moronic they are.
